1978 Ford Thunderbird 26,000 original miles, garage kept since new. The car has a 351/400 M engine, motorcraft 2bbl carbureator, and an automatic transmission. The car could probably use a minor tune up because it has sat more than it has been driven. The factory air conditioning still retains the R12 refrigerant and blows cold. The tires on the car were replaced about 4 years ago with new radials because of dry rot. There is no rust on the body. It was Z-barted when new. There are about 4 dings in the hood where it appears as if something fell out of the rafters of the garage onto the hood. I am sure that a PDR (paintless dent removal) company could remove the dings. There is also a ding on the passenger side door. The original bronze paint shines nicely with a few imperfections/discoloration on the headlight doors. The underside of the car is original and very nice. The interior is like new with the exception of some discoloration on the door panels and a small scrape/mark on the backseat. The factory headlights open and close like new. The factory clock still ticks like a new one. The only thing on the car that quit working is the fuel gauge. The car is completely original with the exception of the radio. The original radio was replaced with an am/fm cassette when the car was fairly new. I have owned the car for about 6 years and I purchased it from my wife's grandfather. The car is basically an untouched original. Americans will get a four-cylinder Ford Mustang after all? [w/poll]
Sat, 09 Mar 2013Ask and you shall receive. Remember that previous report suggesting that the 2015 Ford Mustang getting a four-cylinder EcoBoost engine, and that it would be sold in Europe only and not the United States? Well, according to Road & Track, the rumor is only partially true - The Mustang will get the engine, but it is indeed coming to America.
Additionally, according to RT, the 3.7-liter V6 will continue to serve as the base engine, and since it offers up a stout 305 horsepower in its current form, it's likely that the 2.3-liter four-cylinder EcoBoost will produce a bit more than that. At the top of the range, the Mustang GT will continue to soldier on with a V8 engine, which should continue to send over 400 horsepower to the rear wheels.
Finally, while we agree 100 percent with RT's heartfelt request for a paddle-shift automatic, we certainly expect that the EcoBoost 'Stang will be offered with a manual transmission as standard equipment. This is a Mustang, after all...
Ford C-Max spied with fresh updates
Fri, 05 Sep 2014The Ford C-Max hatchback looks to be getting a few cosmetic updates, as evidenced in this latest set of spy photos. Like the smaller Focus, which also received a nip/tuck for the 2015 model year, the C-Max appears to be getting a revised front fascia with slimmer headlamps and a more, shall we say, Aston Martin-like grille. Around back, there looks to be a new bumper with redesigned taillamps, as well.
In other markets, the C-Max people-mover is available with a range of powertrains, but here in the US, it exists either as a traditional gas-electric or plug-in hybrid. The C-Max's fuel economy has been a particular topic of interest lately, with its official fuel economy ratings having been lowered twice since the vehicle's launch. Sales initially suffered a bit following this fiasco, though numbers have since leveled out. It's unclear if Ford is working on any powertrain tweaks for the updated C-Max seen here, however.
Ford has likely spruced up the hatch's interior, as well, though we don't have photos of that at this time. Mum's the word on when we'll see the new C-Max, but our best guess is that it'll arrive sometime in the next year.

Fri, 08 Mar 2013A vast majority of hotels frown upon smoking inside the building these days, but Brad Keselowski doesn't follow the rules. During his introduction at the 2013 MiilerCoors Distribution Convention, the reigning NASCAR Sprint Cup champion smoked the tires of his Miller-sponsored Ford Fusion stock car, adding a pair of thick, black stripes to the carpeting of the Marriott World Center's conference room.
This definitely isn't a high-quality video, but it's the perfect vantage point to watch Keselowski lay down some rubber and receive a well-deserved standing ovation after pulling up in front of the crowd. Check out the short-but-sweet video posted below.
