1966 Ford Thunderbird Landau on 2040-cars

Year:1966 Mileage:27853
Location:

Franconia, New Hampshire, United States

Franconia, New Hampshire, United States

A good looking and good driving 1966 Ford Thunderbird with those cool sequential rear turn signals.  The front steering wheel moves over to the side for easy entry.  Nice yellow with complementing white interior.  This car has a "space age pilot" design with cockpit features such as lights on the ceiling, pull handles for air over the console and a red bar that moves across the dash for the speedometer.

The back seat wraps around the rear in a unique design not found in current cars.

The mileage does not appear correct because the car doesn't show wear consistent with 127,000 miles, but it is certainly over 27,000.

It runs great and is an enjoyable driver.   The Landau style has no back window for privacy and a distinctive design feature.

New Hampshire does not issue titles for cars older than 25 years so the title was entered as clear.

Every effort was made to accurately describe the car and its condition. I own several cars and am presently selling 4 at the same time from my collection - cars that I don't think I will ever get time to restore. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ASK ALL QUESTIONS about anything - condition, issues, anything because ALL SALES ARE FINAL. If you have any doubt, please hire someone to examine the car for you. There are services available for you to have pre-purchase inspections.

Edit: Additionally, as shown in the photos above, the driver's side rear quarter panel has some rust - bubbles and some around wheel opening.

LOW RESERVE   The reserve is set to sell  -  its about half of what I paid for the car and about a third of what I have into it.  I am downsizing my collection, so 4 cars have to go and if you search eBay you'll see the others for sale too.

Check out the wrap around back seat - you don't see that cool design feature in new cars.

Ford set to target pre-school market with next F-150 variant

Tue, Jun 17 2014

How do you build a strong group of loyalists from the next generation of American drivers? You start em' young. Ford has taken that lesson to heart, as we can see in the first batch of images of the company's new entry to the pre-school market, the Power Wheels F-150. This particular example was caught returning from testing around Ford's base of operations in Dearborn, MI – covered in tiny little bits of camouflage, too. Now, this could very well end up being a collaboration between Power Wheels and Ford. Then again, it could just be some bored engineers that decided to troll the local congregation of spy photographers, who earlier today captured images of the next Focus RS and SVT Mustang. Whatever it is, it's pretty darn cool. Take a look up top for images of the new Power Wheels F-150.

Old vs. new debate gets new life with $25,000 Fiesta ST vs. E46 M3 showdown

Fri, 10 Jan 2014

You know who you are. There's probably a few of you reading; the ones that say, "Why would I spend $27,000 on a new Mazda MX-5 when I could get a used Chevrolet Corvette with more power." Yes, we're talking to you, used car proponents. While it is a fair argument, it's not like used cars don't come with drawbacks of their own, though.
In an attempt to put this new-versus-used argument to bed once and for all, Matt Farah of the The Smoking Tire has picked up a pair of $25,000 cars - a used, but lightly modified, 2003 BMW M3 and a 2013 Ford Fiesta ST. Naturally, there's a comparison.
Farah, as he's wont to do, does get into the nitty gritty of what each car is like to drive, and discusses the merits of used and new-car shopping. But as he rightly points out while testing the M3, "So, it is a good car. But like any used car, it really does depend on the individual car."

The history and future of the Ford Bronco

Tue, 17 Jun 2014

Some have suggested that the Bronco's demise was hastened by the fallout from the O.J. trial.
Twenty years ago today, ex-NFL linebacker Al "A.C." Cowlings drove his friend and onetime running back Orenthal James "O.J." Simpson on a parade lap of the Los Angeles highway system and onto an ignoble page of the history books. If you're in your late 20s or older, or a fastidious young student of 1990s American history, you're absolutely aware that Al and O.J.'s steed for the 'chase' was a white Ford Bronco. The white Ford Bronco, even.
