This car is in Fantastic Condition for its age. No rust on car. Southern car that has always been indoors.

This car is fresh out of a private collection and ready for new owner to enjoy all the hard work completed on it.

 It is CRUISE READY TODAY!!!!

Drives like a dream and sounds awesome!

Following is a description of the car. Again, it will come with a 4 inch tall stack of documents and receipts chronicling the FULL Restoration process it under went.

A LOT! Of $ was invested in this cool ride and it will sell for under that!!!!

 Interior:

Dashboard is in perfect shape. Looks like new.

We just had ALL windows on the car completely serviced and they work great from ALL switches.

1.    All window regulators were cleaned/ lubricated.

2.    Windows were All adjusted to raise and lower evenly.

3.    Switches were ALL cleaned and or replaced.

Seats are in new condition front and rear.

Door panels like new

Carpet like new. NO fading. High quality factory replacement carpet. Not some cheapo knock off.

Basically interior on car is in near mint condition. I only say “near” because it is a 49 year old car.

Exterior:

-The paint on the car is in fantastic shape. Near show quality paint.

The car was completely disassembled and re-painted. This was NOT masking taped and sprayed….The ENTIRE car was medina blasted inside and out. Primer sealed and then repainted. Bumpers, Grill, Windshield, All trim, Top, etc. were all removed for this process.  You will not see over spray on trim pieces etc. Car was done right and it is not caked with layers of old paint like most of these cars that have quickie re-sprays.

Look at under hood and under trunk lid photos. Everything was removed, restored, then replaced after paint. Again, NO OVER SPRAY.

Fantastic Base Coat Clear Coat Paint

-         Very dry and clean underneath! (See photos)

-         Appears front floors were replaced at time of restoration and in good shape.

-         Chrome on Front and Rear Bumpers is NEW. Fully re-dipped

-         Door handle chrome is like new.

-         All Stainless trim on car is in very nice shape

Engine: Original V8 390 CU

This car starts up easily and runs very strong. Motor sounds great and has plenty of power. Engine was FULLY REBUILT 10k miles ago. Transmission shifts smoothly into all gears and floats down the road. Power steering works great. Can steer car with one finger.  A pleasure to drive!

Engine bay is VERY clean and well kept/ detailed. (see photos)

CAN EAT OFF IT. (although I wouldn’t recommend eating off the engine.)

Note: This car has been driven about 100 miles since being removed from private collection. Drives like a dream with no known issues other than constant THUMBS up from on lookers!

-Just had Tune-Up done to the car including…

-new spark plugs

-new cap & rotor

-new wires

-Fresh Lube, Oil & Filter change.

-BRAND NEW 1.5 inch White Wall Tires.

CONVERTIBLE TOP:

SEE TOP IN WORKING ACTION AT THIS  YOUTUBE ADDRESS...      http://youtu.be/6VcNBM6LAJE

Perhaps the most important item on one of these cars is the hydraulic top functions.  This car has just been fully serviced for its top.  Everything was gone thru including relays, pumps, etc.

Everything operates just as it did from the factory.  Top can be raised and lowered with ease and it is quite the site to see!!!

Top material is original style stay fast canvas and is in NEW condition. Fits nice and is soft. Back window CLEAR!

NOTE: IF YOU ARE FAMILIAR WITH THE LINCOLNS OF THIS ERA, THEY HAD A KEYED SWITCH BY GAS TANK TO OPEN TRUNK. THIS ONE HAS A HIDDEN SWITCH INSIDE GAS TANK DOOR FOR AN EXTRA CONVIENIENCE.

Both this switch and the original top down switch work just as they should. SEE YOUTUBE Video on top going up and down…

 Items noted that need attention…

-Gas gauge seems to be stuck. We are having it looked at this week.

-Minor gas drip on a gasket on side of Carb. We have another Carb included with car but are having this one looked at this week too.

-A New Owner who will drive and enjoy this classic beauty!!!!!

Ex-GM VP LaNeve takes over Lincoln ad agency

Wed, 10 Apr 2013

Those of you that caught yesterday's op-ed about Lincoln will have heard already, but Mark LaNeve has taken the helm at Team Detroit. Once the North American vice president of sales, service and marketing for General Motors, LaNeve will now head up the agency that handles all of Ford advertising. LaNeve will also run the account for Lincoln. While at GM from 2001 to 2009, the exec oversaw ad campaigns like Cadillac's Breakthrough and sales initiatives like "Employee Pricing for Everyone."
He left in 2009 to join Allstate as chief marketing officer, oversaw the creation of the Mayhem ad spots and was moved into the role of VP of agency operations overseeing Allstate's 10,000 agents. He resigned from the insurer in February 2012 for personal reasons and joined Team Detroit in August 2012 as chief operating officer, in charge of satellite offices in New York and internationally. He replaces ex-CEO Cameron McNaughton, and will continue to hold the title of COO.
Lincoln is trying to get its 2013 back to rights after putting big dollar commercials for the 2013 MKZ on television then having production glitches preventing cars from getting to dealerships. With rumors of a relaunch in the works, it's no surprise LaNeve has been given the reins - and from here it looks like the brand is desperate for the kind of magic he's proved he can marshal. Perhaps he can start by calling a mulligan on the renaming exercise that gave us the hoary "Lincoln Motor Company" and go back to oh, say, "Lincoln." Then he can ask the product folks to get to work on the MKC concept...

Ford's official Euro aftermarket partner Mountune coming to US

Tue, 06 Aug 2013

Now that we're getting a steady stream of Ford's European offerings, the aftermarket world is finally starting to catch up as well. UK-based aftermarket tuning company, Mountune has just announced that it will be setting up shop in California to provide high-performance and racing parts for Ford vehicles including the Focus ST and Fiesta ST.
Mountune lays claim to being Ford's "official European tuning partner," and US buyers will soon have access to these parts through Ford dealerships and with a Ford Racing warranty. Speaking of Ford Racing, Mountune also says that it will be working with Ford's in-house team to develop future components for both street and track. There are no specifics as of yet for which products will be offered here, but the company plans to launch a US-specific website later this month with more information.

Evo grabs Ford's Fiesta R5 rally car by the scruff

Wed, 04 Sep 2013

Evo and host Henry Catchpole were thinking of excuses reasons to borrow the bonkers Ford Fiesta R5 rally car for a day or two, when it struck them: the car is street legal. With access to the R5, some of the world's most beautiful driving roads in the English Lake Country nearby, and a handy video crewing hanging around, the plan seemed to write itself.
Based on the resulting video, it was a good plan. Without spoiling the video for you - something we can't really do in text as the best part is listening to the rally car run - Catchpole finds the Fiesta to be sublimely quick and massively satisfying. Even taking the car for a spin on a pseudo rally stage, after leaving the English countryside, does nothing but add to his assessment of the beastly little Ford. Scroll on below to see for yourself, and enjoy the ride.
