This car is my baby and I hate to see it go, but I am in desperate need of some college money. I'm going of to college this August and need to get a cheaper vehicle by then. I had the transmission completely overhauled less that a month ago. The main seal was leaking, so while Aamco had the tranny out, I had them go ahead and rebuild it. This car has the Original 390 Big Block Ford FE engine with a 4bbl carb and matching original 3-speed Transmission. The car has 78,813 original miles on it. This was originally a factory A/C car, but when I bought the car, the compressor was missing. I had every intention of putting a new one in but I just never got around to it. I've had this car about 2 years now and I purchased it from a guy in California. I live in Las Vegas, and drove this sweet ride all the way home from California. There are no overheating problems what-so-ever. Driving it home from California is proof of that. This is my daily driver and I do not have any problems with it. This is a very smooth ride and she cruises. She loves both the freeway and surface streets. The interior is absolutely to die for. It amazes me how much they put into old cars, not like newer cars today. The driver seat needs some upholstery work, but the rest of the seats are nice. The back seats don't even appear to be used. The seats are the original leather. This car came from the factory with power windows and a power driver seat. The front driver and passenger windows work great, but I have some problems with the small back windows. I think they need new motors, but that's not a big deal. There's this aftermarket parts dealer in California called Larry's Thunderbird and Mustang, they have every part imaginable for this car, and for great prices. The front wing windows are really cool, I've never seen anything like them before. They are crank to open and close. Less than 6 months ago, I had a brand new paint job put un the car. That along with the Mustang Racing Wheels are the only things I changed. Other than these things, and the Edelbrock carburetor, the car is in its original condition. I'm 6' 1" and have no problems driving this car. I am very comfortable in it, and with the original tilt-away steering wheel, I can get in and out of the car easily. One of my favorite features this car has is the sequential blinkers, from the factory. The last owner converted the blinkers from vacuum to electric. This car is a real head-turner. I get comments multiple times a day, and will really miss all the attention, but the time has come for me to move on. My future is more important than this car. There will always be other cars for me to buy. Please bid with confidence, this beauty deserves it. If there's anything I missed, please fell free to shoot me an email. Let me know if there are specific things you want pictures of. Thank you!! GOOD LUCK bidding!!

This car is being sold AS-IS. At the time of purchase, I require a 100% NON-refundable $1000 deposit for my own assurances that you will come and get the car. The rest will be CASH in person. If for some reason you come to pick up the car and decide not to buy it (which is very unlikely due to the beauty of this car), the deposit will be forfeited and not returned to you.

Ford and Chrysler reducing summer plant shutdowns

Wed, 22 May 2013

Most domestic automaker assembly plants traditionally take a couple of weeks off during the summer. The shutdowns give each plant time for much needed repairs and maintenance, and in some cases, help better align production with demand. Not this year, though, as demand for many models is outstripping what Ford, Chrysler and General Motors plants can produce.
Ford has announced that it will shorten its annual summer shutdown for most North American plants from two weeks to one. The shorter shutdown will increase the carmaker's annual North American production by 40,000 units on top of the 200,000 extra units that it was already planning to produce this year versus last. Automotive News reports that Ford produced 2.8 million vehicles on this continent in 2012, and that output this year has already increased 13 percent through April.
Chrysler, meanwhile, is also operating at full tilt and plans to run some plants through the summer with no shutdown at all. Those not getting a break include Jefferson North where the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango are assembled, Toledo North that will assemble the new Cherokee, and Conner Avenue, home of SRT Viper production. Other assembly plants will be down for a single week, while all of Chrysler's engine and transmission plants except one in Indiana will continue operating with no shutdown this summer.

Ford recalls 9,900 vehicles across two campaigns

Tue, Dec 29 2015

Ford is recalling a total of 9,885 vehicles in two campaigns. The Basics: In one recall, Ford will recall 9,017 examples of the 2013 Escape with build dates from January 11, 2012, to April 1, 2013, and the 2013-2014 Focus ST produced between May 3, 2012, and October 14, 2013. The Problem: Splices in the engine wiring harness might not have enough compression, and this can cause the manifold absolute pressure sensor to send incorrect signals to the powertrain control module. This issue could cause the engine to stall. Injuries/Deaths: None reported. The Fix: Dealers will replace the current crimped splices with new splices, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. If You Own One: The repair campaign will begin on January 4, 2016. More Information: Ford recalled the 2013 Escape and Focus ST in August 2014 for the same problem, and this is an expansion of that campaign, according to company spokesperson John Cangany to Autoblog. The Basics: In the smaller of the two campaigns, Ford will recall 868 examples of the 2013 Explorer, Explorer Police Utility, Taurus, Taurus Police Interceptor, Flex, Lincoln MKS, and MKT. The Problem: The fuel delivery module can crack, which would cause a fuel leak. Injuries/Deaths: None reported. The Fix: Dealers will replace the fuel delivery module. If You Own One: Owners should receive notice soon because NHTSA's report says the recall begins in December. More Information: According to Cangany, this recall is an expansion of a campaign from 2013 for these vehicles. RECALL Subject : Engine Wiring Splices may cause Stall Report Receipt Date: DEC 02, 2015 NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V813000 Component(s): ELECTRICAL SYSTEM Potential Number of Units Affected: 9,017 All Products Associated with this Recall Vehicle Make Model Model Year(s) FORD ESCAPE 2013 FORD FOCUS 2013-2014 Details Manufacturer: Ford Motor Company SUMMARY: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2013 Escape vehicles manufactured January 11, 2012, to April 1, 2013, and 2013-2014 Focus ST vehicles manufactured May 03, 2012, to October 14, 2013. Insufficient compression in the engine wiring harness splices to the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor may provide incorrect signals to the powertrain control module (PCM). CONSEQUENCE: The incorrect signals could cause the vehicle to hesitate or the engine to stall, increasing the risk of a crash.

Enterprise customer billed $47k for Mustang stolen from rental lot

Sun, 05 Jan 2014

A weekend rental of a Ford Mustang GT Convertible sounds like a nice, relaxing way to burn some gas, but one Nova Scotia woman's two-day rental is turning into a months-long headache. In early October, Kristen Cockerill picked up the Mustang from Enterprise Rent-A-Car, and she returned it the following day as stipulated by the rental contract. Unfortunately, she dropped the car off on a Sunday - a day on which the particular Enterprise office is closed - and the car ended up being stolen overnight.
Now, two months later, CBC reports that Cockerill received a bill from Enterprise for the full replacement of the car totaling $47,271 (a base 2014 Mustang GT Convertible currently costs $40,349 in Canada). As it turns out, the fine print in the contract says that the renter is responsible for cars dropped off after hours until it can be inspected the next business day - this is also reflected on the key drop seen in the news report video, which states "vehicles returned after hours are the responsibility of the renter until inspected on the next business day."
It's not clear how much, if any, of that amount Cockerhill will be responsible for once her insurance company gets involved, but if the insurance company refuses to pay, Enterprise will bill the amount to the credit card she provided during her rental. While this ordeal is far over for Cockerhill, it's a good reminder for the rest of us to always read the fine print.
