Listing my 65 Bird for auction as I have decided to sell my Birds and get a different toy. I have owned this car for the past dozen years or so and it has been in my family for probably the last 20. Between me and my family we have had over 40 Birds but this is the one that stuck around always. It has been very well taken care of and when I lived in Florida I drove it all the time but since Ive been in NY it is only driven sparingly on short trips and for its yearly state inspection. When the car was restored all the exterior chrome was redone or replaced so in the sun it shines like brand new. During the restoration of the car some of the a/c components were removed and who knows where they ended up, over the years I have purchased the lower bracket , the 2 mounting struts, and I have found most of the hardware for re-install. Quite a few years ago I was able to purchase the Eminger invoice for the car and I have numerous manuals also. This car has the correct factory option vac trunk release, power windows, power antenna, correct 65 am/fm radio (originally was am only car), power door locks, cruise control( bellows need replaced for certain) and dual power seats. I have also located a correct original reclining seat back with headrest that can go with the car if wanted(needs recovered). This car originally had the standard hubcaps(which I still have) but now has the deluxe upgrade hubcaps on it. There has been a ton spent on this car over the years but if you are looking for a excellent example of a 65 Bird then this would be it. I am listing it with a reserve and depending on where this ends I might look at high bid at the end if not met. The car is in my garage in NY and if you are figuring transport costs I am approx. 50 miles from Erie PA and 85 miles from Buffalo NY. If pick-up arrangements need to be made car can sit covered in my garage for no charge till picked up but car will not leave till payment is complete.  Check my other auctions as well if your looking to start a collection as I have a 83 listed and will be listing a 80 Silver Anniversary car shortly. If you have any questions just ask and I will get back with you as quick as I can. I am looking at getting a Corvette so I really don't need any trades unless it is one.

Ken Block hoons his Ford F-150 RaptorTrax on the slopes

Wed, 08 Oct 2014

Ken Block drives Fords. Hoons the heck out of 'em, actually. Mostly Fiestas, but also the occasional Focus or Mustang. But earlier this year, the Gymkhana guru revealed his baddest Ford yet: an F-150 SVT Raptor on tracks. And true to form, here he is putting it to the test in the latest video from Monster Energy and Hoonigan Racing.
Filmed at Baldface Lodge in Nelson, BC, the video pairs Block up with snowboarders Zak Hale and Ethan Deiss for some deep-powder action. You'll want to watch the video for yourself, but the bottom line is that the RaptorTrax beats the heck out of waiting on line for the ski lift. It's enough to make us start to look forward to winter... almost.

2016 Ford Focus RS mule spotted on US soil

Tue, 17 Jun 2014

Okay Ford, this is what we like to see. One of our intrepid spy photographers has captured a vehicle that we weren't even sure would see the light of day - the next Focus RS. While this is pretty clearly a mule based on the current Focus ST, as our spy points out, there are a number of giveaways about this hot hatch's true nature.
Indication number one that all is not right with this Focus is the heavily camo'd front fascia, which has been completely reconfigured for duty on the RS. It boasts significantly larger grilles that are meant to accommodate what is likely the 2.3-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder that's destined for the 2015 Ford Mustang. Considering that, then, we can expect around 300 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque from the hottest of Foci, although it's entirely possible that the production model could climb even higher, to around 330 hp.
The front fascia tweaks are complemented in the back by a modified rear bumper, which fails at hiding a pair of exhaust tips quite unlike the standard Focus ST's center-exit exhaust. Other obvious changes include the wheel/tire/brake package on this particular car. Larger 19-inch wheels are shod in super-sticky Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires in 235/35/19 while the brakes feature what we think are four-piston calipers, possibly from Brembo, up front.

Ford Mustang GT Bi-Fuel CNG

Tue, 23 Jul 2013

Highly intrigued, we recently visited a Southern California Gas Company office to check out several hybrid vehicles promising something new. Unlike more commonplace gasoline-electric hybrids, we were there to evaluate innovative gasoline-compressed natural gas (CNG) hybrids - yes, they run on unleaded gasoline and compressed natural gas. According to the experts on hand, this arrangement delivers extended range and reduced emissions while chipping in with lower operating costs than pure-gasoline vehicles. There are advantages over its gasoline-electric counterparts, as well.
The program is part of a three-way collaboration between The Carlab, a Southern California-based automotive consulting firm, Landi Renzo USA, a company specializing in alternative fuel solutions, and America's Natural Gas Alliance, a group that promotes CNG. Long story short, the team has engineered a way to allow a modified internal combustion vehicle to seamlessly switch between two fuels (gasoline and CNG) with no driver intervention. In theory, and if it works as well as promised, it's a win-win for the vehicle owner and the environment.
Parked at the Gas Company office were six different gasoline-CNG hybrid vehicles. To demonstrate the technology's versatility (just about any gasoline vehicle may be modified) Carlab brought a varied assortment of bodystyles, each from a different automaker. After taking a quick glance at the half-dozen in the parking lot, we made a beeline for the performance-oriented Ford Mustang GT - a 2012 model - with the six-speed manual gearbox.
