I have for sale a 1963 Ford Thunderbird 390 c.i. 4 bbl carb. The vehicle has less than 28,800 miles on it and I honestly believe this to be accurate. The car was originally a dealer promo car, has power seats, air conditioning, power windows, power steering, power brakes, and an AM radio, all of which work with the exception of the air conditioning but it would not take much effort to repair.

The interior is in very good condition the rear seat is perfect the headliner is perfect, the dash and carpet are in very good condition, the only issue is the front seats, however they do make a original cover kit for them for $250 dollars. The exterior is rough but complete, all that is really needed is fresh paint and a new vinyl top, I even have the rear wheel well skirts which are hard to find and sell for $300 a pop.

The car turns over and idles so quiet you can hardly hear it run. Only mechanical issues are the power steering leaks, and the car needs a new master cylinder, the brakes are scary but they do eventually stop the car. The car currently has a modern edelbrock carb on it but I do have the original holley and air cleaner.

I have a clear title for the car and I am the second owner. It would not take less than $3000 to make the car a good looking daily driver, and that's having a shop do all the work. This car is for PICK UP ONLY and it is near the St. Louis area.

UPDATE

People have asked a couple of good questions so I figured I'd post the answers to them for all to see.

1. Does the vehicle have any rust?
     answer- No, the vehicle is rust free and the underside is also really well preserved. Much of the underside of the car still has baby blue paint on it. The only issues on the body is 2 or 3 dime sized dents that could be pulled extremely easily, and on the lower passenger side of the rear window there is an area about 2x2 that someone has put body filler on and painted over in the past. The paint on the car is rough, its through to primer in a few areas, but now where is it through to metal. I had quotes to paint the car ranging from $1500 to $2000 dollars. Car also needs a new vinyl top as the existing one is destroyed.

2. Could I drive the car home?
     answer- A brave soul might drive it home 10 or 15 miles. Further than that I would trailer it. The brakes on it are SCARY! all 4 corners have brand new wheel cylinders, shoes, and spring hardware, and the brake booster has been rebuilt. However, the master cylinder sucks and the car could use a new one. $150.00 and a brake bleed would cure this problem.
     The car starts very easily and runs mint! very very quiet and smooth, and has enough power for a big smokey burn out. Which leads to the final problem the rear tires are also original! They hold air but are quite dry rotten and cracked so I would not chance driving on it far!

3. I had someone asking what the code in the driver side door is, so here it is...

BODY     COLOR     TRIM     DATE     DSO     AXLE     TRANS
63B          G                56           20F         55         1              4 ( or what looks like a 4)

Keep bidding folks this is one hell of a barn find!!!! It would make a perfectly good RAT ROD just as it is, or an awesome weekend car with just paint and a new vinyl top!

4. In addition to the door codes I am adding the VIN number and Code translation with the final 3 numbers blotted out

VIN = 3Y87Z161###

3     = year= 1963
Y     =assembly plant= Wixom, Michigan
87   =Body series= Thunderbird 2-door Landau
Z     =engine=390 cubic inch, 4V, V8
161###= Consecutive unit number

Ford gives S-Max the Vignale treatment in Milan

Wed, 09 Apr 2014

Ford has a bit of a history in reviving the names of old coachbuilders it has long since gobbled up and using them to distinguish its top-of-the-line models in Europe. That's what it did for years with Ghia, and after having replaced it several years ago with the Titanium trim level, now it's doing it again with Vignale.
At the Frankfurt Motor Show last year, Ford revealed the Mondeo Vignale concept in both sedan and wagon body-styles, which are set to reach production next year. But before they do, the Blue Oval automaker is at it again, applying similar upgrades to the S-Max minivan and unveiling it in concept form in Milan this week.
Setting the Vignale concept apart from any other S-Max is its Milano Grigio rose-hued silver pearlescent paint, 21-inch alloys, chrome trim and hexagonal-pattern grille. Inside it's all ultra-soft quilted leather and aluminum trim, with tablet docking stations in the back and thinner, more flexible seats than the existing production version.

Ford S-Max Concept previews new look, technology for Euro seven-seater

Wed, 28 Aug 2013

Ford unveiled today the S-Max Concept, which comes with a new, sleek look and loaded with innovative technology, such as a heart-rate monitoring seat. But if you're heart is set on a minivan sports activity vehicle (SAV) and you live in the States, don't wait for this one - it's a Europe-only product, and we don't expect that to change when the next-gen S-Max is released.
The styling follows Ford's global design language, looking a bit like an overgrown Focus hatchback with the company's signature grille, wraparound headlamps, steeply raked windshield and curved roof line. Ford also implemented details to make the S-Max look longer and faster, such as a feature line on each side of the vehicle and muscular-looking fenders. The engine isn't Ford's most powerful, but the new 1.5-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine should be potent enough with turbocharging and other efficiency related technologies.
Ford says the new interior, which seats up to seven people, features high-quality materials and fine detailing, such as an "ultra-soft" leather wrap for the instrument panel and leather and carbon-fiber details on the seats. Ford's Sync connectivity system with MyFord Touch makes the car a wireless hotspot, and there's a tablet docking station for second-row occupants.

Ford pits The Stig against Gran Turismo 6 in Focus ST Goodwood run

Thu, 03 Jul 2014

The Goodwood Festival of Speed is one of the world great automotive gatherings. So, it was the perfect event for Ford to give the refreshed 2015 Focus ST its world debut in front of a loving public. It even surprised us with a new diesel-powered version, as well.
The Blue Oval really put its focus on making the ST a better driver for this refresh. It left its 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder alone to still pump out a respectable 252 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. The changes like a retuned front suspension, electric power steering and improved interior made the hot hatch an even better place to spend time behind the wheel.
To prove that the Focus ST is still as potent as ever, Ford set up a one-on-one race up the Goodwood Hill. But instead of putting the two cars side-by-side, former Stig from Top Gear UK, Ben Collins, piloted the real model up the course, and his rival drove the virtual version in Gran Turismo 6. The two hot hatches set off at the same time to see whether reality could beat the virtual world, and the finish was actually extremely close. Scroll down to watch the video and find out the winner of this battle at Goodwood.
