1963 Ford Thunderbird - Beautiful Survivor Car - Landau Option - 390/300 Engine! on 2040-cars
Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas, United States
1963 FORD THUNDERBIRD Beautiful... drive it anywhere! ALL MATCHING NUMBERS Up for your bidding consideration is this lovely all original 1963 Ford Thunderbird in the Corinthian White on blue color combination. This T-Bird came with the 390/300 engine and is the upscale Landau option with the blue vinyl top. This wonderful car has had a pampered life and is a well kept survivor car. You can drive this Bird anywhere. In fact, if you would rather drive it home than ship it, this big comfortable car will gladly respond. What a great time 1963 was in America's showrooms. Buick had the Riviera, Chevrolet had its split window, Lincoln had a knock out Continental, Studebaker stunned the automotive world with its Avanti and over at Ford, they had the amazing Thunderbird. This car has the swing away wheel, AM-FM radio (it works), dual exhaust... even the clock works along with its seconds hand. The interior is all original and it is gorgeous. The tires are excellent as are the original Thunderbird wheel covers. All the glass is superb. The vinyl top is excellent and all the chromework and brightwork is good to excellent. The paint is good but does show some wear and has a couple of blemishes on the driver side and on the decklid. I don't think it's the original factory paint and I would guess it was repainted in the 80's in the original color. The interior is from the factory and it is very nice. The car runs great and the sounds of the engine confirm that it is ready for any long journey. This car will be right at home in anyones car collection. A great cruise night car or a "show & shine" car. The car has a clean and clear title and really doesn't need anything except a new home and a proud new owner. Please e-mail me with any questions on the Thunderbird and I will quickly respond. Also a pre-purchase inspection is available most anytime... just e-mail for an appointment. Winning bidder is to pay in full WITHIN (3) three days of winning the auction. Cashiers check (preferred), bank-wire, personal check (must clear first), or cash in person are all acceptable methods for payment. If you choose not to drive the car home, I will be available for your transport company or for your trailer for a quick and expedited delivery. I will also keep the Thunderbird inside my garage for up to 30 days while shipping or pick up arrangements are being made.
The vehicle is being sold as is, where is with no warranty, expressed written or implied. Ford tells Congress it collects and protects some driver data
Fri, 14 Feb 2014Last month Ford's Jim Farley made waves at the CES when it was reported he told show attendees, "We have GPS in your car, so we know what you're doing. By the way, we don't supply that data to anyone." Farley and Ford later partially retracted and clarified that statement.
Spurred by a desire for further transparency on data collection policies, Ford representatives answered questions from Congress, specifically Senator Al Franken (D-Minn.), about driver privacy.
The Detroit News reports that Ford told Congress it does collect some vehicle location data in an effort to "troubleshoot and improve our products" on behalf of the driver. Ford went on to say that it only collects limited data after receiving permission from owners.
2015 Ford Mustang specs revealed, GT to pack 435 HP
Thu, 17 Jul 2014The 2015 Ford Mustang sounds great so far - at least on paper. Ford has just announced specs for the latest version of the iconic pony car in Dearborn, telling Autoblog that it will pump out as much as 435 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque from its 5.0-liter V8.
Those gaudy figures power the naturally aspirated GT model, and they easily eclipse the "more than" 420 hp and 390 lb-ft that Ford originally estimated.
The 2.3-liter turbocharged EcoBoost four-cylinder makes 310 hp and 320 lb-ft, and it's the first turbo Mustang since the 1986 SVO.
Ford books $1.2B profit in second quarter on strength of trucks
Wed, 24 Jul 2013Ford is rolling along nicely, with a positive second-quarter sales report and a $2.3 billion profit in North America. The Dearborn, Michigan-based manufacturer captured $1.2 billion globally from April to June, with a $177 million profit in Asia. Even in Europe, the land of doom and gloom for automakers not named Mazda, Ford saw some success as it lowered its expected full-year loss from $2 billion to $1.8 billion. The company lost $348 million in Europe during the second quarter, which, believe it or not, represents a $56-million improvement over 2012.
According to the report on CNBC, Ford enjoyed a three-percent increase in pre-market trading thanks to the news. The strong demand for the F-150 propelled growth in the US market, while Ford's 47-percent increase in Asian sales can be attributed to the new EcoSport crossover and Kuga (Ford Escape in the US) arriving in the somewhat fragile Chinese market.
Pre-tax profits for Ford are expected to be in the neighborhood of $8 billion by the end of the year, with sales the US, Europe, and China all looking up. The company also shifted $4.78 billion of asset-backed debt in the form of bonds, according to a report by Bloomberg. This move came amidst rumors of the Federal Reserve cutting back on its $85-billion-per-month bond purchases. Ford wasn't alone among automakers looking to sell off debt, though, as Mercedes-Benz and Nissan shifted around $1 billion each in bonds relating to auto loans.
