Up for sale is a 1963 Ford, Thunderbird Convertible with a very magical presence! This bird is an extraordinary
site to behold and one Elvis Presley or Robert Conrad would be proud to drive. The car has a near flawless
Corinthian White, paint job, rare and desirable Art Querfeld designed,pearl-beige real leather interior in
excellent condition, showing very little wear, a clean white convertible top, Kelsey Hayes wire wheels, the 2 seat
tonneau cover and the swing-away steering wheel that eases entry / exit for the driver. This triple white T-Bird is
very comfortable, reliable, mechanically and cosmetically in near perfect condition. I am a firm believer in
knowing what your are buying, so if you are interested in the deep discription read on.
To make it clear this Thunderbird is not one of the 455 Sport Roadsters produced in 1963, it is however a
convertible that was a cloned to look like a Sports Roadster. The car is all numbers matching Z Code 390 V8
convertible, producing 300 HP, garaged kept, no rust. It is exceptionally nice condition, always loved, pampered,
adult owned, well serviced, non-smoker, no major accidents and High-Octane gas always used. The old adage, it's so
clean you can eat off it, applies to just about every surface of car.
Here are the codes on the door tag : Body 76A, Color M, Trim 54, Date Code 14J, DSO 51, Axle 1, Trans 4. The only
deviation from the door tag is that it now has real leather than vinyl. I just posted the details about this car
in the Thunderbird Registry. This was the cars first time being registered with no previous details available, it
may take a few days to show up into the system. I believe I am the third owner of the car and it spent most of its
existence in a small town in Oklahoma.
This Thunderbird is a real pleasure to drive. The car feels safe at speeds over 80 mph and can be driven briskly
in modern traffic with confidence. The braking performance on this car is outstanding and it has that perfect petal
feel. When emergence braking is require at high speeds the results are very predictable, down nose pitch attitude
with complete control until lock up. In lock up, the car travels straight as an arrow and can be easly maneuvered
when the brakes are released. The power steering is very precise with one finger touch on the wheel. This T-Bird
may be one of the best driving Birds around.

Are you Ford's next Bullitt Mustang? [w/poll]

Thu, 27 Mar 2014

Ford has a long history of offering special editions of its legendary Mustang. One of the most vaunted of those trim packages, though, has only been offered twice. The first time was in 2001, and then again in 2008. Yes, we're talking about the Bullitt.
Named for the infamous Dark Highland Green Mustang Fastback driven by Steve McQueen in the 1968 cop melodrama Bullitt, the car was famous for not just its pilot, but the high-speed chase it took part in during the movie. Now, we think we have images of the next Bullitt.
According to our spy photographers, the paint is a "dead-ringer" for the Dark Highland Green that has signified these special edition Mustangs. While we're inclined to agree, it's also worth pointing out that this shade looks very similar to one of the 2015's other new colors, Guard. We've yet to see one on the road (let alone in such dreary conditions), so it's tough to say for certain.

Experts wonder if aluminum F-150 gives Ford a real advantage

Mon, 17 Mar 2014

There's no doubt that Ford is taking a risk in producing the body of its upcoming new F-150 pickup truck in aluminum. What is up for debate, however, is whether aluminum was a wise risk to take in the first place. Wards Auto took the opportunity to poll some experts on the subject of aluminum versus steel in the automotive sector, with somewhat unsurprising results.
Richard Schultz, a project consultant at Ducker Worldwide, which bills itself as "a leading aluminum industry consultant (though they also deal in steels), suggests that the potential drawbacks to aluminum - higher costs, lower supply - aren't really impediments to the auto industry's increased acceptance of the lightweight metal.
Similarly, Randall Scheps, global automotive marketing director for Alcoa, a massive aluminum producer, counters claims that aluminum is less safe for vehicle occupants, suggesting that the use of aluminum can actually increase safety as it could potentially allow for larger vehicles with more crush space than steel.

Ford Focus RS ready to make our hot hatch dreams real

Fri, 17 Oct 2014

Ford's current hot hatch siblings the Fiesta ST and Focus ST are already two pretty great entries into the segment, but there's always a desire for a little more. Thankfully, it looks like the Blue Oval is ready to satiate that need because it's continuing to test the even more powerful Focus RS around Europe. According to our spy shooters, these shots come from near the Nürburgring.
As with previous photos, Ford engineers continue to heavily camouflage the front end of the RS prototypes, but there's a big difference here. Unlike earlier ones, this example appears to have a closer-to-production-ready front bumper rather than just a horizontal strip for the license plate. That may point to development getting somewhat closer to wrapping up. Although, this one lacks the larger rear wing from prior testers, and the exhaust also appears to be a work in progress with the rear diffuser covered in mesh in these latest shots.
The RS is rumored to be using the 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder from the 2015 Mustang, but power is reportedly turned up from 310 horsepower in the 'Stang to somewhere between 325 hp and 350 hp for the Focus. Routing all that just through the front wheels could be a recipe for serious torque steer, and all-wheel drive is potentially being used for better traction.
