1962 ford thunderbird convertible. Very original, factory Rangoon Red and black interior car. Lived in California's dry climate it's entire life. It has been well up kept overall over the years, and very clean and original for its age. Still retains it's original black and yellow CA license plates issued in 1963! I bought this car from a nice older lady who's deceased husband had loved the car. T-bird was out of service prior to my ownership about 7 years.

I recently had its original 390 engine with 90k miles on it overhauled. It had some blow by, so I had it completely professionally rebuilt. Runs excellent, and engine is all correct down to the paint colors. Quality battery only 3 months old. I have not gone through transmission or brakes but, they are in working order. It has a cool set of chrome baby moon 15" rims that are presently on it. Tires have plenty of tread but, are old and should be replaced prior to any long distance or regular use (I have 4x stock Ford 14" steel wheels included, which I was intending on putting stock new whitewalls on). You have the choice. Original shop manual and original red fender skirts included also.

Interior is nice and appears original. Not perfect but, I wouldn't change much. Still has thunderbird floor mats. I have new replacement dash in box included as original dash has 2 cracks. Power windows all work well. Gauges all work (not clock), heater works fine (I had heater core replaced $$$), fan sticks on intermittently, I will try and have it fixed but can't guarantee in time. Power top motor is bad (they are available now new), all other related electrics appear in good clean workable condition. Needs new soft top, bows etc all in good or better condition. It's all there. Very clean car!

Paint looks to be the original (or a very old proper repaint). Nice presentable condition, some blemishes, chips, scratches but, too few to warrant any immediate repaint, you decide. I like a little patina myself! Chrome is very nice. No rust on this car! Honest solid vehicle.

Clear California title in hand. Like with any antique or classic I recommend flat bedding/trailering any great length, until you are comfortable with the cars performance, it is a safer smarter bet. (it does need new set of tires anyway). I do not transport but I can assist on this end. Located in Hemet Ca., 92544.

Priced to sell, don't play the waiting game, if you want it and can pay for it simply bid!. Buy it now offers will be considered. Dollar for dollar car for car this is the best deal around. I don't have time or space for it, my loss.

50 year old unrestored car, no warranty.

NO FIRST TIME OR NEGATIVE BIDDERS PLEASE! Contact me prior with you intentions if you fall into this category. Please be sure all your funds are readily available prior to bidding. I do not ship but, can assist on this end meeting your transport company. Located in Hemet Ca 92544. Vehicle may be sold through other means hence I retain the right to end auction at anytime. I encourage you to send in offers and not to play the waiting game. Not overly interested in partial trades unless involving 58 Olds. Please feel free to send over questions. Project Ugly Horse: Part IX

One Step at a Time
Nearly every flavor of exotic driveline has been shoved into the ubiquitous Ford at some point or another.
Chuck Schwynoch had been patiently listening to my ramblings on the other end of the phone for a solid half hour. I'm not too big of a man to know when to ask for help, and at this point, I desperately needed some assistance. The truth is, working on a machine like a Fox Body Mustang is as easy as breathing thanks to the wealth of information available on the web. Nearly every flavor of exotic driveline has been shoved into the ubiquitous Ford at some point or another, and odds are the sorry souls behind those builds shared the highs and lows of their torment with the internet community.

Bill Ford says carsharing helps Ford, EVs need to be clean

Mon, Sep 8 2014

To most people, Bill Ford is most famous for being the great-grandson of Henry Ford. But, as the executive chairman of Ford Motor Company, Ford has also been leading the company into greener and greener territory. At the morning plenary session for the 21st World Congress on Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) in Detroit today, Ford discussed a wide variety of topics, including connected cars (of course), plug-in vehicle and how Ford's collaboration with Zipcar came about because of he liked what the Zipcar CEO was excited about getting cars off the road. Given that the conference has a big focus on communication between cars this year, it's no surprise that Ford talked about his company's work on that front. He's looking at the long term, though, and says that despite announcements like the one General Motors made yesterday about Super Cruise, when fully autonomous vehicles get here, it won't be headline news since the ground work is being laid by technologies coming to cars in bits and pieces now. In other words, your adaptive cruise control is getting ready for bigger and better things. "My fear is that we electrify the fleet and our impact is not what it could be." – Bill Ford On the zero-emission vehicle front, Ford said that while he's in favor of electric vehicles, "My fear is that we electrify the fleet and our impact is not what it could be." He was discussing the emissions reality of coal-powered electricity, and said that, "We've got to have a national discussion about what we want our grid to look like." As for the work that Ford is doing with Zipcar (which is just one of the many automaker carsharing operations out there today), Ford said that he first approached Zipcar CEO Scott Griffith after hearing Griffith talk at a green conference four or five years ago. Griffith was surprised, Ford said, because he had just given a talk about ways to reduce car ownership. "Did you hear my speech? I talked about taking cars off the road," Ford remembers Griffith saying. "Yeah, and what's going to happen without us," Ford responded. Today, the partnership allows Ford to get cars to people that have traditionally been "hard to reach," like college students on campuses. Ford's vehicles are currently available on 250 colleges campuses. Ford then spoke favorably about other challenges to the traditional car ownership model, like Lyft and Relay Rides. "Rather than being frightened by that, we need embrace it and help makes their companies better," he said.

Hear the 2015 Mustang GT V8 roar for the first time

Wed, 26 Jun 2013

Our combined knowledge of the 2015 Ford Mustang continues to deepen, as spy shooters have begun to compile video and audio of the upcoming sixth-generation car.
Case in point is this latest series of video clips, which not only gives us a great vantage point of the Mustang in motion, but also allows us to hear the Ford V8 engine and exhaust. After perusing the aural delights of this short video, which, admittedly, doesn't catch the Mustang GT at full song, we can at least say that the throaty exhaust isn't disappointing.
Chances are good that the 2015 Mustang GT will debut with some version of the current (and excellent) Coyote 5.0-liter V8 engine, though we're unclear as to whether or not the motor has been massaged for its next-gen debut, or what may have been done to exhaust plumbing. At this point, we're just happy to hear the pony run. Scroll below to hear for yourself.
