Up for auction is a very nice 62 Thunderbird with 66,000 actual miles. Original drive train, 390 V8, automatic, power drivers seat, tilt away steering column Kelsey Hayes style wire wheels, aftermarket am/fm/cass stereo with Thunderbird logo(original working radio included), and radial whitewalls. This car runs, shifts and drives great. Everything seams to work including the clock. It has a newer exhaust w/glass packs and it sounds great. I have receipts totaling over $7300.00 worth of work and parts done to this car over the last 10 years. It has been very well maintained. The exterior paint is not perfect but shines nice. There are 2 stone chips on the hood and 2 small paint bubbles behind each rear wheel but hard to see. The doors are clean on the bottom, floor pans and trunk floor are solid with no repairs. The stainless is very presentable with only a couple minor dings, but as nice as I've seen on a daily driver. Both bumpers are new as are the hood and trunk ornaments and Thunderbird fender scripts. The grill guard was not replaced when the bumpers were done but looks presentable. Wire wheels have a little surface rust. Under the hood, new chrome valve covers have been added and an aftermarket air breather but the original air breather is included. All the glass is nice with no cracks. Interior appears to be original except for the new headliner and is very presentable. Dash has no cracks, looks good and the carpet is showing it's age but for 51 years old looks presentable. Door panels are in good shape for being the originals. The steering wheel has a cover on it probably hiding a crack or two. The trunk looks like new and includes factory jack and spare. With this car is the original bill of sale, owners manual, shop manual, receipts for repairs made over many years, original radio and air breather. If you looking for a super running classic this is your car. While not show quality, this is a damn nice car and with a little tweaking could be show quality but remember it's 50+ years old. As with any vintage car it is being sold "AS IS" with no promises or warranties. The car is available for inspection during the auction, not afterwards. Please ask questions as I don't do returns. A deposit of $1000.00 is due via paypal within 24 hours of auction close and the balance due within 5 days of auction close via cash in person or wire transfer, NO EXCEPTIONS !!!!!!!!!!! If you need permission from your wife, girl friend, or mother, get it before you bid. Please have funds in place. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer but I will assist you with your arrangements. Please ask questions, ask questions and ask questions. Good luck and bid to win. You may phone me at 419-569-3361 or email thru normal ebay channels.

Ford EcoBoost V6 hits the dyno before hitting the track
Wed, 02 Oct 2013Ford Racing just unveiled the Riley Daytona Prototype that will make its racing in the United SportsCar Racing Championship Rolex 24 at Daytona in January, and now it has released a video showing development of twin-turbo 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 that powers the car. Using the same block and heads that can be found on a production Ford Taurus SHO, this new racecar benefits from the collaboration between Ford Racing and Ford powertrain engineers.
While we still don't know what kind of power this engine is putting out, it has definitely gotten a workout at Ford's 17G dyno. This area deep within Ford allows the automaker's racing program to work hand-in-hand with production engine programs, which can be a benefit to racing operations and production cars alike. Scroll down to hear a few people from Ford talk about the crosspollination between its racing and engine teams and watch the EcoBoost get red hot on the dyno.

All 25 James Bond movies ranked only by their cars
Mon, Sep 13 2021There is no shortage of lists ranking the best James Bond movies. Ditto lists about the best or worst James Bond cars. I know, I've written some of them. As such, why not combine the two ideas into one new list that ranks all 25 official James Bond movies based exclusively on their cars, or more accurately their car content. I would then pull from my 25 years of James Bond nerddom plus the excellent "Bond Cars: The Definitive History" and our interview with long-time Bond special effects supervisor Chris Corbould to provide tidbits and factoids about the cars and their roles in the movies. And yes(!), this list now includes "No Time to Die," which impresses by adding plenty of car content to the series. It's now available on Blu-ray and download. To determine the list, I considered the inherent coolness of the cars as well as their importance to Bond, film and car history. I considered their importance to the story as well as the quality/excitement of the chases and scenes they participated in. Finally, I tried my best to divorce the car content from my opinions about the movies in general. That my personal list of best James movies looks nothing like this shows I was at least partially successful.   25. 'Moonraker' There are virtually no cars in "Moonraker." None. Oh, there's a gondola on wheels that makes a pigeon do a double-take, but that's not the same thing as a car. Neither is a golf cart. Or an ambulance. Or a space shuttle.  24. 'From Russia With Love' The literary James Bond mostly drove an ancient Bentley, and "From Russia with Love" is the only film in which it appears. It stays parked and the coolest thing that happens (by 1962 standards) is 007 answers its car phone. Thereafter, we get some old cars (even by 1962 standards) driving around Istanbul and a yellow truck. So yeah. Classic Bond film, a must-watch, just not for its car content.  23. 'Dr. No' History records that the first "Bond car" is the Sunbeam Alpine in "Dr. No." The car itself was literally borrowed from a Miss Jennifer Jackson of 53 Lady Musgrave Road in Jamaica for 10 pounds per day for two days during filming. Also, the stunt where it drove under an excavator blocking the road was entirely conceived because the filmmakers showed up to the road they intended to film on and discovered an excavator blocking the thing. Sadly, those are really the only two things interesting about the Alpine, which is a pretty small and dainty thing by Bond car standards.
