1960 Ford Thunderbird for Sale. Ford's introduction of the Thunderbird in 1955 as a competitor to Chevy's newly released Corvette that was a success. Like the Corvette, a popular two seater sports car designed to capture the young American Buyer. That all changed drastically in 1958 when Ford attempted to redefine what constituted a sports car. Ford realized the need for a car with sports car appeal but with room for four. In 1958, this radical change was met with mixed feelings and a belief existed that Ford had missed the market. Over the next two years, Ford continued with modifications and by 1960, the car known by many as "Box Birds" was well established. Sporty styling with sculptured lines, bucket seats, console, and a rear seat that simulated two more bucket seats in appearance but allowed room with seating for three. Still striving for the youth in their marketing program but also accommodating young families with room for the kids in the back or perhaps room to take parents or in-laws out to dinner. Here's a wonderful example of such a car. Finished in an antique white with a color coordinated and complimenting red and white interior. Powered by Ford's 352 CI V8 and mated to a smooth shifting automatic transmission, power steering and factory air conditioning. Moving to the interior you will notice power windows, power driver's seat, and an aftermarket AM/FM stereo to provide those great cruising sounds. The exterior is complimented by high gloss chrome and bright work adding to the car's appeal. The car rolls on a set of factory steel wheels with full wheel discs carrying Coker Classic wide white wall radials in 225/75R 14. Toyota, Ford and Honda again top Consumer Reports Car-Brand Perception Survey
Fri, 01 Feb 2013Consumer Reports has released its annual Car-Brand Perception Survey, and the list looks awfully familiar. The top six brands are identical to last year's results, with Toyota, Ford and Honda continuing to occupy the podium. All told, Toyota walked away with 133 points, putting it 15 ahead of second-place Ford. Honda jumped 26 points this year, narrowing Ford's lead to just four points in total.
Consumer Reports polls buyers from across the country on how they see multiple brands in seven categories, including quality, safety, value, performance, design/style, technology/innovation and environmentally friendly/green. Researchers then combine the findings to come up with the total brand score.
While value and performance remain important to buyers, CR found quality and safety are still on top when it comes to significance. Scion and Mitsubishi found themselves at the bottom of the pack with the worst score of all, tied at just six points. Ram, Fiat and Mini filled out the lowest five with scores of seven, eight and 10 points, respectively. Martini Mustang is a 'what if moment' gone right

This is Steve Strope's Ford Mustang in the classic fastback bodystyle, and as you'll notice, it sports the signature colors of Martini Racing, a livery that's as legendary as any Gulf Racing-styled car. But the red, white and blues of the Martini stripe down this Mustang's middle tell only a very small part of the story, in the latest video from Petrolicious.
What would you guess is under the hood? A 289-cubic-inch V8? Maybe a 302, or some absurd Ford crate engine? Maybe Strope went all Tokyo Drift - he's actually responsible for the "Hammer" Plymouth Satellite driven by Vin Diesel at the end of the movie - and found an RB26DETT to drop into the pony car? You'd be wrong on all counts.
This mad, mad man somehow finagled a Ford-Lotus engine from a 1966 Indianapolis 500 car into the Mustang's engine bay. Yes, a Mustang with an engine designed for a 160-mile-per-hour, open-wheel racecar. That's like someone in 40 years dropping McLaren's 2.4-liter V8 from the MP4-28 into a Scion FR-S. It'd just make a monster.
Forza Horizon announces January Recaro Car Pack with LFA N"urburgring Edition
