1957 Thunderbird Convertible

I have a collection of 1955-57 Baby Birds & parts.  This 1957 Baby Bird is the rarest and most expensive of the group.  It runs and stops.  This Baby Bird can be driven as is or restoration project.  This car is very solid and will need lower quarters replaced if restoring.  Details of ownership follows:
1957 Ford Thunderbird time Capsule.  This unique Thunderbird was ordered by Dick Cranston senior, a dealership in New Jersey for his son Dick Cranston Junior.  The car has been parked in a wharehouse for 40 years but has an interesting history.  At the time Dick Cranston Junior was 21 years old and received this car as a gift from his dad.  Although it was a D code car with a three speed transmission that wasn't quite enough for the young 21 year old.  At the time Ford was offering NASCAR packages that could be installed by the dealer.  So Dick asked his dad if he would have the guys in the shop trick out his new 57 Thunderbird with some fast goodies.  So the car received the dual Quad package that was offered on the E code cars of that time.  As well as a brand new four speed pulled off the shelf in the parts room, a set of headers and some Mickey Thompson magnesium wheels.  All of this information has been documented and Dick Cranston Junior is still around to verify any other information about the car.
This car has been untouched since parked in that warehouse in 1967.  It is an awesome example of how these cars were transformed by the dealerships and in many cases sold to the general public.  It still sports the original dealership emblem,  original interior and even the gigantic sun tachometer screwed right through the flawless dash pad.
This car would be a great candidate for full restoration or left as it is to be a reminder of a bygone era.  Serious Inquiries only contact Hugh 337 344 9731

Ford profiles surprisingly affluent Focus ST buyers

Fri, 08 Nov 2013

It comes as no surprise when Ford says that 32-percent of Focus ST buyers are under 35, but we weren't expecting this: the average annual salary of Focus ST buyers is $127,000. Twenty-two percent of non-ST Focus buyers are under 35, while their average annual salary is $67,000.
We like the Focus ST because it has 252 horsepower, is genuinely fun to drive and offers great value for performance-minded car enthusiasts; facts that are not lost on customers, it seems. Ford says that the Focus ST has the highest percentage of conquest sales for a non-hybrid model it sells, and that the top-four trade-ins are from Honda, Chevrolet, Mazda and Toyota. Demand for the hot Focus is strongest in Los Angeles, Detroit, Houston and Orlando.
"[The Focus ST is] having this kind of halo effect for other vehicles we'd hoped for when we invested in the ST brand," says John Felice, vice president of US marketing, sales and service, because it's helping to boost sales of other Ford vehicles.

Does the new 2015 Ford Mustang have a burnout control system?

Tue, 10 Dec 2013

Whether it's lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring or automatic emergency braking, most of the electronic systems we see emerging on new vehicles focus on safety. But there are some there just for enthusiasts. We're talking about systems like automatic throttle blipping for perfect downshifts, or launch control to get that textbook acceleration from a standstill. But the latest system could prove just the opposite of the latter.
Although it has given us most of the details, Ford is still keeping certain elements of its new Mustang secret. But emerging reports may have the skinny on one system which Ford is trying is darnedest to keep under its hat for the time being. That, according to unnamed sources cited by Motor Authority, is burnout control.
The system is reportedly designed to help novices execute the perfect smokey burnout - sort of like launch control, but specifically the opposite. The system could, according to elaborative speculation, lock the front brakes while spooling up the engine to optimal revolutions before dumping (or indicating the driver to do dump) the clutch. A cloud of tire smoke and a long pair of skid marks would then ensue.

Tanner Foust gets eponymous hotted-up Ford Focus ST from Cobb Tuning

Thu, 14 Mar 2013

Racer and Top Gear USA host Tanner Foust has partnered up with Cobb Tuning to create a special-edition Ford Focus ST. The limited-edition hatches will come packing a reflashed ECU, special intercooler, tweaked intake and freer-flowing exhaust for up to 20 percent more power than the stock creation. Cobb says that the changes should push the final dyno figure to above 300 horsepower. Buyers can also expect to find special carbon fiber aerodynamic bits on board along with a new grille, graphics and wheels. Cobb hasn't released pricing on this Tanner Foust Edition Ford Focus ST as of yet, but you can bet the whole kit won't be cheap.
Fortunately, the company will sell you bits and pieces from the overall package for your Ford, and word has it engineers are also whipping up a Foust Fiesta ST. Look for Cobb's Focus ST website to go live next month, complete with accurate specs and pricing. Until then, enjoy clicking through the gallery here.
