1957 Ford Thunderbird on 2040-cars
Lincoln, Delaware, United States
Feel free to ask me any questions about the car : corneliusctteague@ukcampers.com .
This is one out 1,363 of the rarest Ford Thunderbird manufactured in 1957 the E-code , they came with 312 Y-block
with dual Holley teapot carburetors. This vehicle began as a full restoration project 3 years ago, there has been a
lot of hours and funds invested into this build . This build did not begin as a concord build and was not planned
to be one . It has been a journey just getting this bird to this point in which finishing the body it is ready to
go on a rotisserie to complete it properly and then assembly in which we have interior door cards and panels also
the seat cover and various parts in which i'll attempt to add all in the pics. We do have the soft top roof also
and hard top as in pictures. I will be updating the info or answer any questions about this vehicle as possible for
those whom have interest.
Thanks for looking
Upate;
The engine is a fresh full rebuild and has never been started both carbs were just overhauled and all parts
anodized . The transmission and torque converter have been rebuilt . Engine and trans were done by highly reputable
technicians and if needed you could discuss the overhaul and rebuilds with them. At this time the chassis is
separated from the body still if needed i will mate them for transporting. The frame has be replaced with a frame
direct from a 1957 T-Bird from Marvin Hills Thunderbird specialist out of Ohio. The original frame had been
modified and X was cut in which weakened the strength of it's structure to the point of loss of safety to being
road worthy so we replaced if something or a part we had doubt about it was replaced.
Thanks again.
Upate of info:
Would like to describe the body, it's pretty solid, it needs drivers side floor pan and rocker and passenger rocker
only a little repair around rear wheel wells. I'm trying to set up a link for added pictures. Will have it ready
shortly.

Project Ugly Horse: Part IX

Nearly every flavor of exotic driveline has been shoved into the ubiquitous Ford at some point or another.
Chuck Schwynoch had been patiently listening to my ramblings on the other end of the phone for a solid half hour. I'm not too big of a man to know when to ask for help, and at this point, I desperately needed some assistance. The truth is, working on a machine like a Fox Body Mustang is as easy as breathing thanks to the wealth of information available on the web. Nearly every flavor of exotic driveline has been shoved into the ubiquitous Ford at some point or another, and odds are the sorry souls behind those builds shared the highs and lows of their torment with the internet community.
Ford, Toyota clean up in Best Car For The Money Awards
Fri, 22 Feb 2013The U.S. News Best Cars for the Money Awards picks winners by looking at the average transaction price, five-year total cost of ownership, the regard a car has from the automotive press, reliability figures from J.D. Power and Associates and safety data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The result, according to the magazine, is "the best combination of critical acclaim and long-term value."
Ford nabbed six of the 21 categories that received awards this year, the Focus, Fusion, Fusion Hybrid, Taurus, Escape and Edge getting trophies. Toyota and its Lexus and Scion sub-brands took another five, the Tacoma and Tundra owning the two categories given to pickup trucks. The other ten awards were split between Honda with three, Buick with two, and one each for Subaru, BMW, Hyundai, Chevrolet and Mazda.

Watch Ken Block's scary Rally America crash from inside the cockpit
Wed, 19 Feb 2014Ken Block became famous for his series of Gymkhana videos, but he's a real racer in his own right. Block has competed many rounds in the FIA World Rally Championship and also rallied in the 2013 Rally America series. He nearly won that latter title last year - if not for a massive crash in the final event of the season.
Block and his co-driver Alex Gelsomino went into the Lake Superior Performance Rally needing a win to take the championship. However, missing a clump of dirt on the side of the road and one little word in the pace notes was all it took to catapult Block's Fiesta off the road and into a tumbling accident. Block says his initial reaction was anger because the crash came out of nowhere.
For 2014, Block is joining the FIA World Rallycross Championship for at least three rounds. He'll drive a Ford Fiesta for the Hoonigan Racing Division at the Norwegian, French and Turkish events of the 12-round championship. Former Formula One World Champion Jacques Villeneuve will also compete in the series.
