The E in the VIN tells you that under the hood is a "Special High Performance" 312CID V8 with dual quads and hotter cam producing 270HP. Not only does this car have the ultra rare power-plant, but it is also equipped with a long list of other factory options that includes hard and soft tops, engine dress-up kit, signal seeking radio, heater, power brakes, power steering, tinted glass, safety package, and back-up lights. It has had only three owners since new and has been very well cared for. It has received some cosmetic and mechanical refreshing to bring back to its dazzling appearance and to ensure worry-free roadability. Ford reveals EcoBoost-powered Riley prototype for Daytona 24

It's not the first time Ford has participated in the Daytona Prototype class as an engine supplier, but in revealing this new EcoBoost V6-powered Riley Technologies prototype for the new United SportsCar Championship, Ford is making a statement: "We want to show Ford EcoBoost's capabilities as an engine that provides both performance and fuel economy, on and off the track," says Jamie Allison, director of Ford Racing.
In addition to supplying the 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6, Ford had its production designer Garen Nicoghosian give the racecar brand-inspired design cues with support from Ford Racing chief aerodynamicist Bernie Marcus.
The car is scheduled to compete at next year's Rolex 24 at Daytona on January 25-26, but before that, Michael Shank Racing is working with Ford at another goal. Driving his Ford Thunderbird, NASCAR champion Bill Elliott set the track's top speed record at 210.364 miles per hour during a qualifying run for the Daytona 500 - way back in 1987 -- and Ford thinks it's about time for that record to fall. What better time the introduction of this new Ford-powered Daytona Prototype? Michael Shank Racing plans to use the twin-turbo V6-powered racer to beat Elliott's record, and it expects to begin prepping for the top-speed run on October 9. Ford Claims Focus As World's Best-Selling Car For Second Year In A Row

Ford Motor Co. has claimed its Focus sedan beat out the Toyota Corolla for the title of 'best-selling car in the world' for the second year in a row. The declaration was based on independent sales figures from January to September of 2013, according to USA Today. Last year, Ford used data from the analysis firm Polk to support its claim of having the best-selling car of 2012. Toyota objected, stating the Corolla sold more units. The numbers eventually showed that the Ford Focus was the best selling nameplate of the year, but may have been second to the Toyota sedan overall since multiple variations of the Corolla are sold under different nameplates around the world. Data from the analysis firm R.L. Polk found Focus registrations from January through September 2013 reached 856,587. Ford can thank booming car sales in China, where the automaker sold 303,481 units, for a sizable chunk of that number, which was a 16 percent increase over 2012. "Our success with Focus is the result of Ford's connection to our customers all over the world," said Jim Farley, an executive vice president at Ford. The Focus and Corolla both compete in the popular small sedan segment, along with other hot-selling cars like the Honda Civic, Hyundai Elantra and Chevrolet Cruze. These vehicles make a up a large portion of sales for their respective automakers, as they tend to hit a sweet spot for many consumers, coming with a starting sticker price under $20,000, solid fuel economy, plenty of cargo and passenger room and, lately, sharp exterior design and sportier driving dynamics. Ford F-150 Tremor to pace NASCAR Truck Series this weekend

Ford's bro-tastic F-150 Tremor will be pacing this weekend's NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at Michigan International Speedway. The Tremor fills a gap in the Ford F-Series lineup that we imagine the NASCAR set have clamored for - a hot-rod pickup truck.
Where the F-150 Raptor is designed to go quick on anything, the Tremor and its 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 are designed to tackle the road. The 365-horsepower and 420-pound-foot EcoBoost is unchanged from the rest of the F-150 line, but it combines the shortest drive ratio with the lightest two-door body, making it a bit of hot rod.
Ford will be offering hot laps with Michigan native Brad Keselowski behind the wheel of the Tremor for fans that arrive in the Irish Hills on August 14. The main showing for the new pickup will be the August 17 race, though, when it'll lead the field at the start of the race and through cautions.
