You are bidding on a 1957 Ford E-Series Thunderbird.  Original owner bought the car Jan 2 1957 in Haverford, PA - a suburb of Philadelphia.  He owned it until the second owner, who purchased the car in December of 1969.  I am the third owner, and I bought the car October 31st 1984.  At inception of the first title in PA in 1957 to the current title, copies of each title are in hand showing authenticity of the E series VIN number.  First owner had several cars, this was never daily transportation.  The second owner drove the car the least.  I rarely ever took the car out because I prefer large cars, like the Continental pictured in front of this T-Bird.

About the Car:
The transmission was removed late 60's early 70's and rebuilt according to T-Bird Products, Exton PA - the paperwork from a Ford dealership says they did rings and valve work.  No signs of accidents, rust free car except one tiny piece under the passenger quarter panel at the rear bumper.  There is a slight dent on the hood.  Both are pictured.  The car was not built with skirts or backup lights.  One tail light has a broken lens.  Jim Weatherly (California) rebuilt the carburetors and the distributor after a gas leak (pictured).  Burnt wires at engine coil, but the car still ran and drove home.  The car has not been out in 20-22 years.  The convertible top on the T-Bird is the original convertible top frame.  The convertible top material is white and is in fair condition.  In the mid-80's T-Bird Products, Exton PA replaced the seat casings, the carpet, and the drop curtain.  Under my ownership the car has been driven to NYC and the Pocono Mountains with no issues.   The hubcaps pictured do not go with this car, they are borrowed from the '66 behind it.

I have a dyslexic computer, PLEASE  no emails - If you have questions regarding the car, call Lee at 856 729 2439.  This is an UNMOLESTED CAR.  Honestly, the reason it hasn't moved is because I parked the 59 Continental Convertible in front of it and lost interest in the T-Bird.  Title will not be released until the car is properly paid for.  Thanks for your interest in my auction and happy bidding!

First Ford Mustang prototype shots caught by legendary spy shooter Jim Dunne

Fri, 12 Apr 2013

You know how people refer to someone as having "been around the block" to mean they're very experienced? Well, when it comes to automotive spy photography, Jim Dunne actually laid down the concrete slabs of the block's sidewalk. The unforgettable Dunne more or less invented the car spy game - a fact he cemented by writing book called Car Spy - and has been delivering spy shots and reporting on the industry for some 45 years now. (He also once employed this writer as his impromptu personal chauffer on a Volkswagen trip in Germany, while he slept, but that's a story for a different time.)
In any event, Dunne must be on a mission to prove that "elder statesman" doesn't also mean "washed up" as it is his shots of the upcoming new 2014 Ford Mustang that we've been handed by our friends at KGP Photography.
Mr. Dunne has likely spent the last few years obtaining powerful telescopic lenses, as the Ford in question has clearly been photographed from some distance. Nevertheless, what you see here is visual evidence that the sixth-generation Mustang has moved beyond the mule stage, and is now testing in proper prototype form. Sources indicate that there are production-spec body panels under that baggy canvass dress; but the slightly less bulky silhouette of the new car can be just made out. While the car's bumpers have been removed to obfuscate things, we can tell by way of the camo's apertures that the car's taillights have moved upwards and towards the lip of the tail. A fender vent appears to be visible, too, just behind the front wheel.

Next-gen Ford Cobra Jet development underway, but will it be a Mustang?

Wed, 09 Oct 2013

Ford might be stepping away from the NHRA, but it isn't abandoning drag racing altogether. Hot Rod says that Ford confirmed a next-gen Cobra Jet factory drag racer is in the works, but the report also speculates that a new Cobra Jet could switch away from the Mustang nameplate.
Even though talk of a new Cobra Jet coincides with the all-new 2015 Mustang, the lack of confirmation for the dragster's platform leaves Hot Rod to guess that the car might switch to another platform - specifically a front-drive-based, unibody car like the Fusion or Taurus. We'd hate to think of a world with a NASCAR-ized dragster from Ford Racing, but it's also highly unlikely that the Mustang Cobra Jet would step away from its quarter-mile rivals like the Chevy COPO Camaro and Dodge Challenger Drag Pak.

Watch Tanner Foust hustle the Fiesta ST 'round the 'Ring

Mon, 15 Jul 2013

The last time we saw Tanner Foust at the Nürburgring he was sloshing an SVT Raptor from kerb to kerb. Sticking with Ford but swapping keys, this time the drift champion and Top Gear USA host goes to the opposite end of the manufacturer's tuner garage and plucks a Fiesta ST for 'Ring duty.
The 179-horsepower front-wheel-driver acquits itself well by the end of the video. But be warned, Foust doesn't set a 'Ring time and it's shot like a commercial... because that's what it is. Still, you can enjoy all two minutes and 31 seconds of it below.
