We have owned this original 56 t-bird for about 15 years. The car has not been restored but has had work done as it was needed. It is the original Z code green color with matching interior. The car is # matching and has the original 312 V-8 engine and Fordamatic transmission. The engine has had a resent tune-up, hoses , belt , etc. Since we purchased the car we added a factory replacement power brake booster. The transmission was completely rebuilt by AAMCO less than 1000 miles ago.It has new Coker wide white radial tires. The interior door panels , seat upholstery and carpet were  replaced with exact reproductions several years ago and have no rips or wear. The original dash board vinyl is nice and all gauges and tack work well except the clock and radio. The car has both the port hole hardtop and cloth top which folds down behind the seat when not in use. It has original truck fabric and original jack. It also come with the original bill of lading when the car was delivered to the Frank Taylor Ford dealership on August 17th 1956 in Los Angeles California ( see picture ) . also included is most receipts over the last 30 years , previous owner info and original shop manual , sales brochure and owners manual. This is not a show car and would need new paint, chrome work done etc. to be one. The paint has been touched up in places and is coming off in other places, the bumper and tail light chrome is thin. This is a driver car and is priced like one. If you want a fun little car that is solid with No through rust , real original and always gets attention this is a nice little car. Call or e-mail with any questions, I can store the car for a little while if that helps but must be paid for in full in 7 days from end of auction. I can help with delivery on the west coast for a fee and thanks for looking...Mike 541-788-5756

Thieves still love older Hondas and pickups most, says NICB [w/video]

Wed, 20 Aug 2014

No one wants to have their car stolen, but a new study by the National Insurance Crime Bureau has some bad news for older Honda owners and pickup drivers. Fortunately, it has better news for drivers overall. The group is reporting that according to preliminary data from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, thefts were down 3.2 percent in 2013 (versus 2012) to fewer than 700,000 cars. That's the lowest figure since 1967. That's also less than half of the peak of over 1.66 million thefts in 1991. "The drop in thefts is good news for all of us," says NICB President and CEO Joe Wehrle. "But it still amounts to a vehicle being stolen every 45 seconds and losses of over $4 billion a year."
Honda drivers might not find it such good news with older Accord and Civic models topping this year's theft study. Toyota and Dodge can't really celebrate, either, with two models each on the list, as well. Overall, this year's list was split evenly between foreign and domestic models, which were mostly pickups.
The 10 most likely vehicles to be stolen in 2013 were:

Honda giving away free Civics in Forza Horizon to celebrate launch

Wed, 16 Jan 2013

Just a friendly reminder from Honda: The Honda Challenge Pack DLC is now available for Forza Horizon. To reward you for the trouble of pressing a few buttons on your Xbox controller, you'll get the 2013 Honda Civic Coupe, an HPD Rally Fit and a 1986 Honda Civic Si Coupe in your garage, and you'll get them free. The event of the new DLC has also kicked off a photo contest that will reward someone with an Xbox 360 console wrapped in a Honda Civic Si theme.
Otherwise, the word "Challenge" keeps coming up because of the chance to run an online race against IndyCar driver Scott Dixon. The track for that digital throwdown has already been decided by Xbox players who voted before January 8. Yet it's not too late to hop into the Honda section in Xbox Live and lay down a time fast enough for a shot at the title "The Driver That Shellacked Scott Dixon," and meeting the man in person.
Check out the press release from Honda below, and the sweetness that is the 1986 Civic Si in the gallery above.

Justin Bell makes a horrible policeman

Mon, 11 Nov 2013

If you're wondering what type of person makes a good police officer, it seems a racecar driver doesn't. Let us rephrase that: Justin Bell, a racecar driver and the host of Motor Trend's World's Fastest Car Show, recently got behind the wheel of a 5.0-liter Ford Mustang police car with Sergeant Daniel Shrubb, co-founder of DRAGG (Drag Racing Against Gangs and Graffiti), and proved that his high-performance-driving skillset is a bit too aggressive for police duty.
While it's easy to get carried away in a Mustang GT, a patrol car driver must maintain some sort of restraint while pursuing a criminal, so as not to come off as a reckless driver to the public. We'll admit, some pursuit techniques are counter-intuitive to performance driving (stay off the gas in a lane-change exercise?), but Bell's judicious use of the handbrake can't be normal procedure.
Watch "The One With The Ford Mustang 5.0 Police Car" (yes, we caught the Friends reference too) below to see some shenanigans in one of Michigan's finest patrol cars.
