1956 T-Bird-NO RESERVE__The car is being relisted at no reserve-The body on the car looks to have a decent older restoration that is starting to show its age. The paint still has a great shine and is in good condition. The only places that the body is staring to show is on the bottom of the passenger door and it has a couple bubbles on the passenger side rear fin by the trunk. It has some bubbles on the trunk lip also. I tried to take pics of these area but they dont show to well in the pics as they really arent that bad. There are no rust holes or anything its just bubbling. The passenger side front fender has some chips on it and have been touched up-I also took a pic of this. The chrome is excellent-Both bumpers are fantastic. The stainless is pitted in places. Both door handles, and the trim around the porthole window are pitted. I took pics of these. The continental kit is excellent. The tires are good year bias ply-Have tread but are kinda old. The trunk seems good as are the floors. I took pics-The interior is where we have some issues that you can correct pretty easy. The seat is excellent as is the dash pad-It has no cracks. The door skins are decent. I took pics of all these. It has some basic issues. The speedometer isnt working nor is the tach, and the heater blower motor. The wipers motor work but is not connected to the rods. Gas gauge works fine as do all the lights turn signals brake lights and horn all work as they should. It has both tops. The soft top frame is good but the canvas is old. The hardtop is good and has 1 small cut in the headliner. Mechanically the car has a 312 with a tri-power setup on it. It is connected to a 4 speed tranny. The clutch is good as is the trans-It shifts as it should. The motor is the solid lifter 312 and has an edelbrock intake with the 3 holley carbs on it. When I got the car it ran like crap. It was all carb related. So I had all 3 carbs rebuilt and purchased new linkage for the tri-power. It now runs very good. 1 of the carbs is leaking a little fuel around the base but I have been driving it-So that would need to be adjusted. But mechanically the car runs very good. It runs drives and brakes as it should. Its a little interesting to drive with those bias ply tires and drum brakes and no power steering. But thats how they made them back then. But like I said I have been driving it around and runs great and turns heads everywhere it goes. It just needs some tinkering with that dash stuff and the body is good except for the little bit of bubbling and the bottom of the pass door. -Its no show car by any means but its an older restoration thats just showing some age,but is a nice cruise that needs some tlc --If you would like any other pics just let me know. I encourage you to come see the car. We are a NY Dealer so NY residents will have to pay sales tax. Please feel free to ask questions. I try to be as honest as I can. I have sold many cars on E-bay and I have 100% positive feedback for a reason. I try to be honest about the description. Its not a show car but can be a nice driver with some tinkering. Drive it while you fix it,take it to local cruise ins-The paint job is prensentable. I actually just waxed it-I do have an original intake and carb for the car-It was given to me along with a box of stuff. --The pics dont show the bubbles I spoke of or the bottom of the pass door, But I took the pics. Its just an older resto coming through. It was a decent restoration.-The car is located in Elmira NY and is being sold "AS-IS" with no warranty--High bidder gets the car--No Reserve

On May-23-13 at 04:59:54 PDT, seller added the following information:

NO RESERVE-This should be the lowest price T-Bird on E-Bay-I have been watching birds for awhile on here. So for a Bird in this nice of condition its an extremely fair price-You wont find a better one for the money!!!

Ford Fiesta RS with 250 horsepower mooted

Thu, Jan 29 2015

We know Ford is unveiling a new Focus RS on February 3, and it's heavily rumored to arrive brandishing an all-wheel-drive powertrain and as much as 350 horsepower. The folks at Ford Performance have also promised they are working on at least 12 models through 2020, and that still leaves a lot of time to get additional exciting vehicles out the door. One of those could be an RS version of the Fiesta, according to Evo. An RS take on the latest Fiesta would obviously need substantial boosts in both power and handling ability to warrant the work over the current top Fiesta ST (pictured above), which is already one of our favorite cars. Evo speculates that the 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder could be tuned further, possibly up to about 250 horsepower, and the high-performance hatch might even take some inspiration from the Fiesta WRC rally car with an all-wheel drive system. An unnamed Ford spokesperson remained cagey about the chances for the pint-sized hot hatch to Evo, though. "We can't say anything at this moment, but we have promised to produce 12 performance models in the coming years. We'll leave it for you to decide whether that includes a Fiesta at this moment," the source said to the magazine. Evo doesn't expect a launch across the pond until at least 2017, if it actually happens. Of course, there's the lingering question of whether such a niche project would work in the US. In Europe, the Fiesta RS would challenge similarly diminutive speedsters like the Volkswagen Polo R and Audi S1, but true competitors of an equivalent size here would be much more scarce. In fact with 250 hp, the hotter Fiesta could provide unwelcome competition within Blue Oval showrooms for the Focus ST. Mustang driver proves wheels are overrated

Mon, 21 Apr 2014

We don't need to tell you that there's something missing in the image above. What we do need to tell you is that this is not a picture of a parked car stranded on the highway. This is, rather, just one frame from video of that three-wheeled Mustang traveling down the highway at highway-appropriate speed.
We don't know where you'd have to be nor how badly you'd have to be there to go shooting down the freeway in a car with three wheels, but if the New Daily News is correct, that place is somewhere in Texas. The video's short, but you'll have plenty of time to shake your head at it by just scrolling down.

UK's Loughborough University improving Ford's 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine

Wed, May 21 2014

How much does it cost for college students to study zero emissions vehicles? At Loughborough University in the UK, a new Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC) is being built at a cost of a billion pounds ($1.7 billion US). The school has just announce that it will fund a number of grad student positions and is creating a new Chair in Advanced Propulsion Systems, which sounds like a fun job to us. We're weird like that. There will be a total of four professor-type positions in the new Center, including the chair, all focused on teaching students about low-carbon vehicle technologies, specifically electric and hybrid ones. The school is investing 1.5 million pounds ($2.5 million) for the new positions. There is a bigger picture as well, a 26-million pound ($44 million) Advanced Combustion Turbocharged Integrated Variable-valvetrain Engine (ACTIVE) project, which uses funds not only from the school but also from Ford and others. The point of ACTIVE is to study Ford's 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine and "improve further its efficiency and ensure it exceeds 2020 emission regulations." This is already a popular engine for the automaker, and it will need to stay at the bleeding edge of efficiency to remain as important in 2020 as it is today. Loughborough University has been working with automakers on advanced energy technologies for years, for example with Rolls-Royce and fuel cells in 2007 and the Lotus Hotfire engine in 2008. University invests GBP1.5M in advanced propulsion research to advance zero emissions vehicles challenge Loughborough University is investing GBP1.5M over five years in strategic research appointments, inspired by the global challenge to develop the new advanced propulsion technologies required for the move to zero emission vehicles. These appointments reinforce the University's world-class research in low-carbon vehicle technologies, adding new dimensions concerned with electric and hybrid drives. Four appointments will be made, including a Chair in Advanced Propulsion Systems, supported by a number of PhD studentships. The GBP1.5M investment is part of the University's commitment to the recently announced Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC) to support the development of new supply chains for low carbon vehicles. APC is an initiative established by the Automotive Council that will see GBP1 billion of investment from government and industry over the next 10 years.
