2004 Ford Taurus Sel Wagon on 2040-cars
Tampa, Florida, United States
This is a beautiful Silver Frost Metallic 2004 Ford Taurus SEL wagon in excellent condition with only 45,000 miles. I purchased this vehicle in June of 2006 from Autoway Ford in Brooksville, FL. and have used it as a daily driver. It is extremely reliable and with the luggage rack on the roof and the internal cargo area it's great for moving supplies for your home projects. It's Front wheel drive with dual front air bags. The Ford Taurus has been one of the 10 best selling vehicles in the U.S. and rated as one of the best family cars in terms of safety. In fact safety, comfort and reliability are the trademarks of this vehicle. It has a 3.0 Duratec liter V6 aluminum block ( a $1200 option hwhen new ) with 201 horsepower and 4 speed automatic transmission. This wagon provides up to 81.3 cubic feet of cargo space and this SEL model is the top of the line offered for Taurus wagons. It has automatic climate control, power adjustable pedals, a leather wrapped steering wheel, AM/FM cassette player with 6-disc CD changer, four wheel disc brakes, 7 spoke machined aluminum wheels, keypad entry, dark paledo wood-trimmed interior, adjustable luggage rack and a unique bumper shape with step pads at the rear. In addition, it has a flip-up rear window in its tailgate which is useful if you just want to reach in and grab something quickly without opening the tailgate. In addition, this vehicle has dual color keyed remote power adjustable exterior rearview mirrors. These SEL wagons are better equipped than the sedans as ABS is standard and it has a rear anti-roll bar for better handling. This particular wagon comes with the vinyl cover that rolls up and covers the rear cargo area which you don't often see on these wagons so you can conceal any valuables in the cargo space if you wish. ( please see the pictures ) The exterior metallic paint is in very good condition and the body has no dents or dings since I have always been very careful to park it away from other vehicles when grocery shopping. It has been senior owned and operated since purchased in Brooksville, FL and has been a joy to drive. I am selling my wagon since I have medical issues to deal with otherwise it would remain in the family. All of the window glass is immaculate with no cracks or chips and the power windows all operate as they should. The engine is always very responsive and the acceleration is good when you need to merge with traffic. The interior is in excellent condition and the leather is supple and well preserved since I have always maintained it with leather conditioner. All of the instruments work and the interior lighting at night is very well positioned and marked for night time driving. The floor carpeting is in terrific condition since it has been covered with rubber mats and vacuumed on a regular basis. This wagon would suit anyone since it so reliable, safe and has excellent performance. As you can see I have an excellent buyer/seller record with E-Bay and I am an honest person who just wants to find a good home for my car. The vehicle is being sold " as is where is " and has to be picked up from the sellers home location. I will require a $1000 deposit via Paypal within 48 hours of auction close. All sales are final. No buyers remorse since this car is close to 10 years old and comes with no warranty. I have tried to describe this car to be the best of my ability and the pictures attest to it's condition. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask and I will be pleased to answer them for you. The payment balance will be due in full within 7 days of the auction close and the following forms of payment will be accepted. Cashiers check ( must clear before car is released ) Money order Cash in person Thank you and good luck bidding ! |

USPS releases hot rod stamps to speed up your delivery
Sun, 08 Jun 2014After one of the worst winters in recent memory for much of the country, summer is finally here. It's time to drop the top, open the sunroof or at least put down the windows and take a long drive. The United States Postal Service is celebrating the season's sun in automotive style with two new hot rod Forever stamps.
Both stamps depict classic '32 Ford hot rods. One shows the car from the front at a low angle in red (pictured above), while the other depicts the car from the back in black with flames running down the side.
To introduce the new stamps on their first day of availability, the USPS went straight to the source at the National Street Rod Association Street Rod Nationals in York, PA. They were unveiled by Postmaster General Patrick Donahoe, Car Crazy host Barry Meguiar and NSRA Special Events Director Jerry Kennedy.
Automakers want to stop the EPA's fuel economy rules change, and why that's a shortsighted move
Tue, Dec 6 2016With a Trump Administration looming, the EPA moved quickly after the election to propose finalizing future fuel economy rules last week. The auto industry doesn't like that (surprise), and has started making moves to stop the EPA. Ford CEO Mark Fields said he wanted to lobby Trump to lower the standards, and now the Auto Alliance, a manufacturer group, is saying it will join the fight against cleaner cars. The Alliance represents 12 automakers: BMW, Fiat Chrysler, Ford, GM, Jaguar Land Rover, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Porsche, Toyota, VW, and Volvo. Gloria Bergquist, a spokesperson for the Alliance, told Automotive News that the "EPA's sudden and controversial move to propose auto regulations eight months early - even after Congress warned agencies about taking such steps while political appointees were packing their bags - calls out for congressional action to pause this rulemaking until a thoughtful policy review can occur." The EPA was going to consider public comments through April 2017, but then said it would move the deadline to the end of December. That means that it can finalize the rules before President Obama leaves office. The director of public affairs for the Consumer Federation of America, Jack Gillis, said on a conference call with reporters last week when the EPA originally announced its decision that it is unlikely that President Trump will be able to roll back these changes. Gillis also said on the same call that any attempt by the automakers to prevent these changes would be history repeating itself. "These are the same companies that fought airbags, and now promoting the fact that every car has multiple airbags," he said. "These are the same companies that fought the crash-test program, and now are promoting the crash-test ratings published by the government. So, it's clear that they're misperceiving the needs of the American consumer." There are more reasons the Allliance's pushback is flawed. Carol Lee Rawn, the transportation program director for Ceres, said on that call that the automotive industry is a global one, and many automakers are moving to global platforms to help them meet strict fuel economy rules around the world.
Radical RXC is a Mustang-hearted racecar for the road
Fri, May 30 2014Radical has been building fantastic open-cockpit racers and roadcars for years, for the track day enthusiast who wants a vehicle that looks like it could show up for a start at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The company's latest creation is the RXC, and while this coupe looks like a prototype racer, it's road legal in the UK and in some parts of the US. When testing a car this, um, radical, the first thought is likely to get it to the track for some big slides and wide open acceleration, but XCar Films takes the opposite approach in its latest video to learn how this racer fares on public roads. The version tested here is the standard RXC with the 3.7-liter V6 out of the Ford Mustang tuned to 350 horsepower with a seven-speed sequential gearbox; but Radical also offers the same engine with 380-hp, a 454-hp Ford EcoBoost 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6, or even a 500-hp V8. Even in the most basic guise, it's a handful to control in the wet, if this video is any indication. The cliche of a road-legal racecar is bandied around a lot in the motoring world, but it truly applies to the RXC. The only problem with seeing the RXC exclusively on the road is that it can never really open up and show its full potential. This racer is indeed chomping at the bit to rocket off into the horizon, but all those pesky road safety laws hold it back. Still, the video is a chance to get a better impression about this thoroughbred sports car. Scroll down to check it out. This content is hosted by a third party.
