We purchased this car in December 2002 and drove it until recently.  We purchased a new prius and originally though we would like to have a second car.  However, we have discovered we don't need a second car and the car has developed some issues that we don't wish to repair.  The current mileage as of the time of this listing is 121,050.  This car will run on E85, but we almost always used regular unleaded gasoline.  The condition is as follows:

1.  The car runs and drives.  I drive it to work roughly once every two weeks.

2.  The power seats and power locks work fine.

3.  The front driver and passenger side power windows work, but the rear power window on the drivers side does not work.

4.  3 of the 4 tires are nearly new and have 1/4 inch of thread remaining.  The other tire has less than 1/8 inch of thread remaining.

5.  The interior is in fair condition.  There are no rips or stains on the seats.

6.  The car has hail damage that can be seen in the attached photos.

7.  The engine was leaking oil and the front timing cover gasket and front main seal were recently replaced.  I am not certain these repairs completely fixed the oil leak.

8.  There is some rust damage behind the rear drivers side door.  Touch up paint has been applied, but it is noticable upon close inspection.  See attached images.

9.  There is a scrape on the passengers side of the front bumper.  See attached images.

10. We drove this car in snow and ice and have a set of tire chains for the front wheels.  The chains are included with the car.

11.  The cd player and radio work fine.

12.  We are the second owner of this car.  We purchased it in December 2002.  The mileage at the time of the purchase was 17,513.

13. No one has ever smoked in this car.

Auto industry insider previews tell-all book, What Did Jesus Drive?

Tue, 11 Nov 2014

"It's about some of the biggest crises in history. It's about who did it right and who did it wrong." - Jason Vines
Jason Vines, the former head of public relations at Chrysler, Ford and Nissan, has seen a lot during his more than 30-year career, and now he's offering a behind-the-scenes look at the auto industry in his tell-all book What Did Jesus Drive? that went on sale this month.

Ford wants to double hybrid offerings by 2020

Wed, Jan 15 2014

The Blue Oval is looking for folks on the other side of this Big Old Sphere to get on board with its hybrid offerings. Ford executive Raj Nair, speaking at the Detroit Auto Show this week, said the US automaker wants to double the number of hybrids models it offers by the end of the decade, Reuters reports. Details of what that actually means is anyone's guess, as it was unclear how many of those models would be in the US and how many would be overseas. That said, Nair did say that prospective customers in regions such as China and Europe would drive the expansion of offerings. Ford got off to a great start in the US last year on its hybrid sales, but then tailed off towards the end of 2013. Ford more than doubled its green-car sales in 2013 to almost 88,000 units. In that number were more than 37,000 Fusion Hybrids and more than 28,000 C-Max Hybrids sold domestically. The company also sold almost 7,500 Lincoln MKZ Hybrids. Ford's green-car totals for 2013 were up fivefold at the mid-year point, hinting that Ford's hybrid sales plateaued, at least temporarily, in recent months.

Ford Focus RS ready to make our hot hatch dreams real

Fri, 17 Oct 2014

Ford's current hot hatch siblings the Fiesta ST and Focus ST are already two pretty great entries into the segment, but there's always a desire for a little more. Thankfully, it looks like the Blue Oval is ready to satiate that need because it's continuing to test the even more powerful Focus RS around Europe. According to our spy shooters, these shots come from near the Nürburgring.
As with previous photos, Ford engineers continue to heavily camouflage the front end of the RS prototypes, but there's a big difference here. Unlike earlier ones, this example appears to have a closer-to-production-ready front bumper rather than just a horizontal strip for the license plate. That may point to development getting somewhat closer to wrapping up. Although, this one lacks the larger rear wing from prior testers, and the exhaust also appears to be a work in progress with the rear diffuser covered in mesh in these latest shots.
The RS is rumored to be using the 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder from the 2015 Mustang, but power is reportedly turned up from 310 horsepower in the 'Stang to somewhere between 325 hp and 350 hp for the Focus. Routing all that just through the front wheels could be a recipe for serious torque steer, and all-wheel drive is potentially being used for better traction.
