Up for sale is my current daily driver, 2001 Ford Taurus with 38K original miles! You can see a walk around VIDEO of the car here:

Runs and drives great. 3.0L V6, power windows, locks, and mirrors. A/C is cold, and the heat is hot. Tires are good, steering is tight, trans shifts excellent. Engine runs great with no smoking, knocking, or hesitation. Brakes are good, no pulsation. Nice reliable car ready for the road. All the monitors are set, and there are no codes in the car. I have put over 1,000 miles on this car myself. This is a former small Municipality police vehicle. No antenna holes in the body, and they put aftermarket tint all around. There is a slight scuff on the pass side of the rear bumper, and a very tiny dent on the Quarter panel, right where the bumper and Quarter panel meet. The tiny dent is almost not noticeable. There is also a small crease on the lower pass front door (you can see it in the picture below. I have replaced the coil pack, plug wires, and serp. belt. I did remove the vinyl coverings on the rear door panels (they were falling off, very common). The car will pass NY State emissions and safety inspection with no problems. All monitors are set. The car does have some dings, scuffs, and scratches, but has the original paint all around. I have the car for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction early if it sells locally prior to the auctions end. I am driving it everyday, so the miles are going to be slightly higher than the listing when it is sold.

There are only 2 minor issues with the car.
1. The dome light does not go on when you open the drivers door. Works with all the others. Probably disconnected for the police use. I may repair it before the auction ends if I have the chance. If I do, I will add it here.
2. There is a light shake in the steering wheel between about 50-60 mph. Never looked in depth into what's causing it.
Any questions, please ask. You can also call call me at 5I6 area code, 52I-I957.
NY State residents only, will have to pay me sales tax on the final price, and the inspection fee ($37).

Ford GT40 makes historic return to racing at Goodwood

Wed, 23 Oct 2013

Is there a more iconic, American racecar than the Ford GT40? That may be a discussion for another day (although by all means, tell us how wrong we are in Comments), but this video of heaps of GT40s running in the Goodwood Revival races certainly has us thinking that Ford's Ferrari-killer might just be the best racer the Land Of The Free and Home Of The Brave has ever come up with.
That's completely ignoring the fact that the GT40 was largely developed by Brits using American money, but that's besides the point (there was also a rather brash Texan, who had a big role later in development). The resulting vehicle was dominant, besting the cars of Il Commendatore from 1966 to 1969, although it should be noted that Ford's GT40 was unable to beat Ferrari in its first two Le Mans outings in 1964 and 1965.
Those four years of dominance, which started with Ford sweeping the podium, were enough to establish the GT40's legend. And now, here we are almost 50 years later, celebrating the mid-engined monsters at Goodwood, in their first ever one-make race. Take a look below for the entire video.

Airbag recall widens to include BMW, Chrysler, Ford and Toyota

Mon, 23 Jun 2014

The recall of faulty airbag inflators supplied by Takata has exploded today to grow to seven automakers. In most cases, only models in certain high-humidity regions were affected because the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found in its investigation that moisture played a roll in determining whether there would be a problem. However, some companies opted for national campaigns. The exact number of affected models for these campaigns isn't yet known at this time.
BMW is recalling an undisclosed number of 325i, 325Xi, 330i and 330Xi models from the 2001 through 2005 model years and the 2001-2006 model year versions of the 325Ci and 330Ci for the driver side and passenger side inflators. Only vehicles currently registered in Florida, Puerto Rico, Hawaii and the US Virgin Islands are covered under this recall.
Neither Chrysler's filing with NHTSA nor its press release list the specific models affected, but a company spokesperson told Autoblog that at this time it only covers the driver and passenger side inflators for the 2006 Dodge Charger in Florida, Puerto Rico, Hawaii and the US Virgin Islands

Devils, Details and Weight Reduction
There are many things I could call this exercise. A party is not one of them.
I've spent three days crammed in the axle well of this 1989 Mustang with nothing to keep me company beyond a trouble light, a DeWalt drill on the very last of its legs and billion razor sharp, red hot slivers of metal with an affinity for my most sensitive of regions. My joints are raw from crawling around on the concrete. I'm half deaf from the shriek of the spot weld cutter and the boom of the cold chisel and hammer.
