For auction is a privately owned, 2001 Ford Taurus SES. I purchased the vehicle at a decent price last year as a second family car for us. When I purchased the car, it needed a head-gasket and a tune-up. We did the repairs and we also replaced the below components. We have all paperwork backing the repairs.

O2 Sensors
Spark Plugs
Front Brakes and Rotors
Brake Fluid Service
Rear Heater Hoses
Radiator Cap
DPFE Sensor
Water Pump
Head Gasket Set
Thermostat, Housing and Gasket
Idler and Tensioner Pullies
A/C Compressor

The vehicle cost me a decent amount of money to replace these components but the car has driven great and served us very well for the last year with no issues. Everything works in the car and it runs fine, still does and I have no doubts that it wont continue to serve someone else well. I am selling the vehicle because I saved a bit of money and I'd like to upgrade to something newer for us. I'd also like an SUV because we have bad winters here on Long Island. A few things that you should note about the vehicle however; The Odometer stopped working at 129K, and right now the vehicle has somewhere around 135K Miles on it. It stopped working about four to five months ago. I chose not to have it repaired because I'm ready to sell the vehicle, but also because it doesn't hinder the vehicle from operating properly, thus not being a priority for me. Also, the check engine light comes on every now and then and reads a Misfire. I had this diagnosed and my mechanic said it's an injector. Again, I didn't choose to repair the vehicle because it is another issue that is periodic and doesn't affect driving conditions. They looked at it on the computer and said that the misfire occurs infrequently, but since the computer sees a misfire, it throws the code. The vehicle passed NYS inspection without a problem. After the repairs, the vehicle served our family well. I've trusted it to get my children and girlfriend back and forth and I have no doubts that it will serve someone else very well. Blue-Book Value for this vehicle is just shy of $3,000. Appropriately, this vehicle has been priced at just over half of that.

Ford moving medium-duty F-Series production from Mexico to Ohio

Thu, 27 Feb 2014

A few more Ford trucks will be built in the US in the near future with news that production of the F-650 and F-750 medium-duty trucks will move from Mexico to Ford's Ohio Assembly Plant in Avon Lake, OH. Ford hasn't confirmed a precise timeline for the move, but The Detroit News claims the Blue Oval will make the shift later this year or in early 2015.
As Ford spokesperson Mike Levine reminded us, back in 2011, Ford announced in an investor release that it would shift production "after the [Ohio] plant stops current production of the Ford E-Series vans." According to that release, the Ohio factory will also receive $128 million in upgrades to build the new trucks, plus the F53 motorhome chassis and F59 commercial chassis.

Ford CEO Jim Hackett reviewing the future of technology, Lincoln, overseas markets

Mon, Jul 31 2017

By Paul Lienert and Joseph White Ford Chief Executive Jim Hackett is reviewing the automaker's operations in India and other markets, as well as Ford's future product programs including plans to build a self-driving commercial vehicle in 2021. Hackett, who took over as CEO in May, has told investors he is working on a 100-day review of Ford's operations but has so far provided few details of the process, except to indicate that it is looking at the automakers' luxury vehicle strategy, the future of its small vehicles and investments in emerging markets. Ford Chief Financial Officer Bob Shanks told Reuters in an interview that the review covers a range of issues, including Ford's strategy for India. "We have a lot of work to do (as) we address issues of how to fix India," Shanks said. "Everything is on the table." General Motors in May said it would stop selling cars in India but continue to produce vehicles there for export. Shanks said no decisions have been made and noted that Ford has a larger business in India than GM did. "We are very cognizant that will be the third-largest market in the world," he said. "Some big decisions will be made," Shanks said, but he cautioned Ford may not disclose all those decisions at the end of the 100-day review. Hackett is addressing challenges that have contributed to a nearly 8 percent decline in Ford's share price this year. The review of the Lincoln luxury brand includes whether current plans will meet former CEO Mark Fields' ambitious targets for growth and revenue, people familiar with the process said. Ford has set a target of putting a self-driving shuttle into commercial ride-sharing fleets by 2021. Hackett is reviewing the investment and timing for that project, the sources said. Hackett also assessing whether to reduce and consolidate production of models such as the Fiesta subcompact and two midsized sedans that are built in multiple locations around the world, but are experiencing slowing demand. One proposal would shift production of the next-generation Mondeo midsized sedan from Europe to Mexico, where it would share an assembly line with its sibling, the Ford Fusion, avoiding the cost of retooling two plants. Shortly after he took charge, Hackett approved a proposal to shift production of the next-generation Focus for North America from Mexico to China, saving the company an estimated $500 million by consolidating two factories into one.

Fitting Retirement: Grand Marquis last Mercury off the line

Wed, 05 Jan 2011

The signs have come down and retail production ended back in October of 2010. Now, the very last Mercury model has rolled off the assembly line. This last Mercury somewhat fittingly takes the form of a Grand Marquis reporting for fleet duty. It was built at the St. Thomas plant in Ontario, Canada, which is the same facility that continues to produce the Ford Crown Victoria and Lincoln Town Car for fleet and livery duty.
St. Thomas' days are numbered, however, as the factory is slated to close on August 31. When it goes, the Panther platform is likely to follow. So long, and thanks for all the fish memories.
