1999 Ford Taurus Wagon - Light Blue on 2040-cars
Clarksburg, West Virginia, United States
This 1999 Ford Taurus Se Wagon was given to us by my wife's mother, who drove it everyday for 3 years, after she bought a new car in October 2012. She bought this vehicle locally from a dealer on 2/19/09. We have never had insurance nor the registration on the vehicle because we already have 2 vehicles, as well we haven't had the title transferred. (Im not sure if we will put it in our name and then yours, or if we should just put it directly from her mothers to yours. Which ever is fine with us)
We've had it over a year and its just been parked in the parking lot near our home. I have moved it around the lot 3 times since then. The first time it started right up but the 2nd and 3rd time I had to jump it with my vehicle so it may need a battery or to be charged with the alternator. Also I know it needs a power steering pump. That's what my wife's mother told me. But it can be driven without. I'm not sure how long she had it after the pump when out, therefore I cannot give an exact time frame from how long the pumps been out but I could definitely tell it was out when I moved it around the lot. Another thing, the Taurus will need a passenger side wheel and tire. The other 3 are fine other than needing a little air, but that wheel and tire were stolen off the vehicle about 10 weeks ago. I'm sure just from sitting 14 months the fluids need to be serviced but I don't know exactly what it could use. There is also a little rust on the passenger side as well on the back hatch/trunk. The interior looks nice. No stains or rips in the seats and the floor boards could use vacuumed. As far as anything else with the engine and transmission from when I moved it around it all seemed to be fine. I asked her mother recently if there was anything else wrong with it and she said, "no just the power steering pump." That is everything I know about the vehicle. KBB lists it around 2400.00 via private party. If you have questions please feel free to mail me and if you live near Clarksburg WV you can come take a look at it. I am selling it "as is" due to the power steering pump and missing wheel/tire but it does run fine. Thanks for looking and Happy Holiday's! Quick Specs

Ford GT dominates Le Mans qualifying, gets slapped with performance adjustment
Fri, Jun 17 2016Fifty years after Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon drove the Ford GT40 to victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Ford is poised for a historic return to the Circuit de la Sarthe. The new Ford GT took the top two qualifying positions in the LMGTE Pro class, and four of the top five. Ferrari's 488 filled in the rest of the spots in the top seven, the first two from AF Corse. In other words, we're primed for a reboot of the classic Ford-Ferrari feud at this year's race. Or not, as the ACO, which organizes the 24 Hours of Le Mans, announced sweeping pre-race Balance of Performance (BOP) adjustments this morning that make this year's GT class anybody's race. In LMP1, last year's overall winner Porsche locked up the top two spots with the 919 Hybrid and will lead the entire field at race start. Toyota's two-car factory effort followed with qualifying times 1.004 and 2.170 seconds behind the pole lap. Audi rounds out the manufacturer-backed LMP1 class in fifth and sixth. Full qualifying results can be found here. The storyline for the GT cars is perfect - some say too perfect. Ford's class-leading times came after BOP adjustment to the Corvette Racing C7.R before qualifying. BOP is intended to level the playing field in the class by adjusting power, ballast, and fuel capacity. (Check out this explainer video for more, or even just if you love French accents.) But the process is riddled with unknowns and ripe for accusations of sandbagging. That is, if the Ford cars were intentionally slow in practice they could hope for BOP adjustment to improve their race chances. On the Corvette side, last year's GTE Pro winner went from the top of the field to the bottom, barely improving from practice to qualifying. If you think Le Mans is as rigged at the NBA Playoffs, well, it's not that simple. Because if Ford and Ferrari held back until qualifying - the eighth-place Porsche 911 RSR is three-and-a-half seconds off the class pole time - it was a pretty dumb strategy. This morning, the ACO tried to put things back in order by limiting the boost in the Ford GT's twin-turbo V6 and adding 11 pounds of ballast. Ferrari was also given extra weight but allowed more fuel capacity. The Corvette and Aston Martin teams were both given breaks on their air restrictors, which will allow their engines to make more power. Both Ford and Porsche also received extra fuel capacity.
2015 Ford Mustang vs. Camaro and Challenger [w/poll]
Thu, 17 Jul 2014The horsepower wars are tightening among the Detroit Three, as the Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger are getting bigger, more powerful, and yes, more fuel efficient.
That came into sharper focus this week as more information was revealed about the most insane Challenger ever - the 707-horsepower Hellcat - followed quickly by Ford's in-depth showcase of the 2015 Mustang in Dearborn.
It's shaping up to be a golden age for enthusiasts, and what's under the hood is becoming more important than ever.
Ford recalls 1.3 million Fusions, MKZs: Steering wheels could come off
Wed, Mar 14 2018When driving a car, the steering wheel is only expected to move in a rotational fashion, either clockwise or counter-clockwise. When it moves in some other direction, something is wrong, and when it moves the wrong way enough that it is no longer attached to the steering column, that's a really, really bad thing. And apparently, according to a recall issued by Ford, there are over 1.3 million Ford Fusions and Lincoln MKZs that are at risk of this happening. And at least two accidents and one injury have been attributed to the issue. Ford says the problem is that the steering wheel bolt that keeps the wheel attached to the column might not provide enough torque, resulting in the bolt slowly loosening and working its way off the column. The good news is that the fix is really simple. Ford will install a larger bolt with more threads along with a larger nylon patch to keep it all locked down. The fix is completely free to owners. Cars affected by the recall include 2014 to 2017 Fusions built built at the Flat Rock plant in Michigan between August 6, 2013, and February 29, 2016. Model year 2014-2018 Fusions and MKZs built at the Hermosillo factory in Mexico are also affected. So if you have one of those sedans, please get in touch with your local dealer to have the issue addressed. Related Video:
