Here’s a clean green 1995 Ford Taurus SHO with just 86,750 total original miles. This is a rust-free car brought to Detroit earlier this year from Washington state. The underside of the the car is so clean you could eat off it. No salty winters and rotted out roads for this upcoming classic.
I bought the SHO from the original owner. There has never been any wrecks or accidents and the car is in terrific shape. There are a few minor dings and scratches, but no dents, no broken trim and no missing parts.
Since I bought the car, I took care of ALL age-related issues except one. The list of repairs is long and thorough. You will not find a cleaner, nicer first-gen SHO in this state.
These are the repairs since January
- New BF Goodrich tires
- Did the 1996-up front brake upgrade (bigger rotors/calipers)
- Replaced the valve cover gaskets and cam seals
- Replaced the oil sending unit and seals
- Changed the transmission fluid and filter
- Replaced the EGR valve, the DPFE and IAC sensors
- Replaced radiator, hoses and water pump
- New timing belt
- New front shocks
All the parts that came off except the tires were original. The car had one old-man owner who used the car infrequently.
This SHO has the 3.2-liter Yamaha V6 with four-speed automatic. The car loaded and features:
- Grey leather interior
- Electric Sunroof
- Power driver and passenger seats
- AM/FM Cassette and CD player
- Nice cold ice cold automatic air conditioning
- Power windows and door locks
- Automatic lights
- Fog lights
There is not a burned out light bulb and everything else works as it should.
This is a great car with many tens of thousands of miles left in it. The original first gen Taurus SHO is fast becoming collectible, and you will look long and hard before you find one this clean and nice. This car has NEVER been smoked in. The car is ready to be driven anywhere.

Next Ford F-150 delayed for aluminum body panel issues?
Wed, 11 Dec 2013The timetable for next-generation Ford F-150 may be in trouble if a report from The Truth About Cars is true. The next F-150 is slated to make extensive use of weight-saving aluminum in its body, but the aluminum alloy provided by suppliers hasn't met Ford's requirements in the earliest phases of pre-production, according to the report.
The F-150 represents a huge portion of Ford's profits and is the best-selling truck in the US, even in the face of increased pressure from cross-town rivals General Motors and Ram. While the current truck is treading water against its competition, we'd be lying if we said the F-150 weren't growing quite long in the tooth.
If production of the next-generation of the Ford cash cow, said to be based on the Atlas Concept from the 2013 Detroit Auto Show (pictured above), is delayed, it could be bad for Ford. Production at Ford's Dearborn Truck Plant is already set to be delayed six to ten weeks, missing an internal on-sale deadline of Memorial Day.

Leno drives Henry Ford II's all-original '52 Ferrari 212 Barchetta
Tue, 17 Jun 2014The story of the relationship between Henry Ford II and Enzo Ferrari is absolutely fascinating. The two great men of the auto industry had what appeared to be a burgeoning friendship until Ferrari pulled out of a deal to sell his company to Ford in the '60s. The latest car featured in Jay Leno's Garage is a 1952 Ferrari 212 Barchetta that tells the very beginnings of that story.
This Prancing Horse was a gift to Ford from Enzo when the two companies were first thinking about merging, according to the curator of the Petersen Automotive Museum. Ferrari really wanted to show off its best so instead of the 212's normal V12, this car was fitted with the larger 2.7-liter unit from a Ferrari 225. The car has been almost unaltered since then. It still wears its original paint, and it's tires date back to 1954.
The great thing about the Petersen is that unlike a lot of auto museums, the people there actually drive the cars and keep them in working order. Once on the road with Leno behind the wheel, this Ferrari really sings. Unfortunately, he can't open it up too much because the 60-year-old tires really hold things back. Scroll down to watch this amazing piece of automotive history and learn it's possible effect on the styling of the original Ford Thunderbird.
