99 Ford Ranger xlt standard cab 4x2 looks lifted with offroad firestone destination a/t tires.
project street strip show truck. I bought this truck to do a turbo 2.5L lowered ranger project. I then changed my mind and thought about either doing a 5.0 mustang / explorer swap or a 4bt cummins swap. I purchased a lowering kit and after It was diagnosed to need possibly a head gasket I changed my mind about building my truck. I sold off the lowering kit and extra parts. The truck as it sits runs and may drive I'm not sure. I got it to start and have not driven it myself yet. I bought the truck needing a fuel pump and then put almost $1000 in other parts and labor and also the $500.00 + tires that are on it that are about 6 months old. It does have 2 steel wheels and 2 aluminum rims.

New parts:
Ignition switch Tumbler - $30.00
Fuel pump- $99.00
Spark plugs- $42.00
Spark plug wires - $35.00
Crankshaft position sensor - $19.00
Cam Position sensor- $40.00
Timing belt - $30.00
Timing Belt Tensioner - $30.00
Timing belt Tensioner Spring $45 dollars and a pain to find.
That's $340.00 in parts alone and then 7 hours of labor @ 85 an hour.

It finally started and will run and idle you can accelerate the engine but have to feather the pedal like it has a huge vacuum leak. It will need a valve cover gasket that I can see and as I mentioned previously with probably need a head gasket. I have not checked compression but I have noticed oil residue in the coolant system. I found a complete head gasket kit for $70 and I believe bolts were $25.00. The head gasket set comes with all needed gaskets includings valve cover gasket and intake manifold gaskets which may be causing the huge vacuum leak when trying to accelerate the engine. The bed is shot by the cab its rusted through. huge dent on drivers side bed panel. The cab and frame are in good shape though. The cab and bed look to have some touch up paint and their are scratches. and also some residue on them oil or sap or wax. The front and rear bumpers are both damaged in some way either scratches bends or rust.

I'm listing this vehicle to the best of my knowledge. As I have mentioned I have not driven the vehicle since I purchased it I'm not positive on how it drives. The 4 tires all seem to be wearing evenly, doesn't look to be out of alignment or anything. The vehicle is being sold as is no refunds no warranties expressed or implied to purchasers. Vehicle being auctioned is the Ford Ranger in Pictures pictures and description are to show and describe the vehicle to the best of my knowledge.

The car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early if its sold before auction ends.

2014 Ford Fiesta 1.0L EcoBoost to hit 45 mpg for $16,445*

Mon, 28 Oct 2013

When Ford first announced its plan to put the 1.0-liter EcoBoost three-cylinder engine under the hood of the 2014 Fiesta, it promised hybrid-like fuel economy without a hybrid-like premium. We're still waiting for official specs on this engine, but thanks to the EPA's fueleconomy.gov website and Ford's retail site, we now know what customers can expect in terms of both fuel economy and price.
All along, Ford has said that it expects the 1.0-liter EcoBoost to get more than 40 miles per gallon on the highway, and now the EPA backs this up with official ratings of 32 mpg in the city and 45 mpg on the highway. These numbers are an increase of two mpg city and four mpg hwy compared to the current fuel-sipping Fiesta (the 1.6 SFE), and it also beats other three-cylinder cars for highway mileage like the 2014 Mitsubishi Mirage (44 mpg highway) and 2014 Smart Fortwo (38 mpg highway); the Fiesta 1.0 EcoBoost is lower than both three-pot rivals, though, in city fuel economy with the Mitsubishi getting 37 mpg city and the Smart rated at 34 mpg city. This model handily beats high-volume small cars like the Honda Fit, Toyota Yaris and Chevy Spark in both city and highway numbers.
As for pricing, the 1.0-liter EcoBoost is offered on both the sedan and hatchback as a $995 option called the SE Manual EcoBoost package, which is aptly named since it's only offered on SE trim-level Fiestas equipped with a manual transmission. Along with the engine, the package also comes with 15-inch steel wheels, regenerative brakes and a decklid spoiler on the sedan. This means the four-door Fiesta 1.0 EcoBoost will start at $16,445*, or $17,045* for the hatchback (*not including $795 for destination).

Does the new 2015 Ford Mustang have a burnout control system?

Tue, 10 Dec 2013

Whether it's lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring or automatic emergency braking, most of the electronic systems we see emerging on new vehicles focus on safety. But there are some there just for enthusiasts. We're talking about systems like automatic throttle blipping for perfect downshifts, or launch control to get that textbook acceleration from a standstill. But the latest system could prove just the opposite of the latter.
Although it has given us most of the details, Ford is still keeping certain elements of its new Mustang secret. But emerging reports may have the skinny on one system which Ford is trying is darnedest to keep under its hat for the time being. That, according to unnamed sources cited by Motor Authority, is burnout control.
The system is reportedly designed to help novices execute the perfect smokey burnout - sort of like launch control, but specifically the opposite. The system could, according to elaborative speculation, lock the front brakes while spooling up the engine to optimal revolutions before dumping (or indicating the driver to do dump) the clutch. A cloud of tire smoke and a long pair of skid marks would then ensue.

Leno recalls '90s showdown with Tim Allen and his mullet

Wed, Oct 7 2015

Not many of us have buddies with garages full of classic cars, but that isn't the case for Jay Leno and Tim Allen. Of course, one of the advantages for two guys with such vast collections is occasionally getting to pit their cars against each other. The two comedians did just that in the mid-'90s with a burnout battle on The Tonight Show between Allen in a race-prepped Mustang and Leno in a drag racer. After some time away from regular television, Leno is returning to the airwaves with a Jay Leno's Garage series premiering on Oct. 7 (tonight) at 10:00 p.m. ET on CNBC. Let this clip serve as another taste of what to expect for the new TV show's mix of comedy and cars. After reminiscing about the old days in a gorgeous garage, the comedians get into two modern machines to reprise the classic challenge – after a little trash talk anyway. Don't worry because the YouTube series isn't going anywhere, though.
