1995 Ford Ranger Xlt Extended Cab Pickup 2-door 3.0l on 2040-cars
Arden, North Carolina, United States
Its red with a grey interior. Extended cab, 3.0 Liter V6 5speed manual transmission Ford Ranger with matching camper top. It has a fiber glass bed liner with a rubber mat to keep stuff from sliding around. There is also some built in slots for 2x4 spacers which is real handy for keeping things in the back by the door. It's got an after market pioneer CD player connected to the factory speakers. It has the powered lumbar support on the drivers seat and cruise control. Everything else is manual including the windows, door locks, seats, and tilt steering. It has two bucket seats with a center console with cup holders, storage space, and arm rest. It has the fold out jumper seats in the back, with a storage net and pull out privacy cover. I think I'm the third owner. I bought it about a decade ago in Grenville, South Carolina, and it had about 85,000 miles on then. I've done regular oil changes and routine maintenance. The tires are still like new 1 year old cooper discovery. I did a big tune up at 125,000 miles, new plugs and wires, transmission fluid, rear end, and radiator fluid. It had a new clutch two years ago, and also has a brand new water pump this year. Still runs great and drives everyday. That said it does have high miles and is sold as is. I will not ship this truck you must come and get it. It's for sale locally and this auction may end early. |

2015 Ford Mustang production to begin on July 14? Not quite, says Ford
Thu, 10 Jul 2014Mustang6g.com believes that it has unlocked start date for 2015 Ford Mustang production citing a Ford dealer communiqué. According to the report, job one on the 2015 hardtop will allegedly start in just a few days, on July 14, although units that are known as "OK to Buy" won't enter production until September 9. The cars built between those dates are most likely final pre-production cars for the executive test fleet, and will likely include the cars we'll be driving at the media launch.
Sun worshippers, meanwhile, would seem to have a longer wait. Job one on the droptop supposedly isn't slated to start until September 14, with production models starting on October 27. As is the case with the hardtop, these final pre-pros are for the execs and media to test, while actual dealer orders will come from vehicles made after the October date.
After speaking to Ford, though, we wouldn't put a great deal of stock in those dates as reported. We reached out to Said Deep, Ford's North American Product Communications Manager.

EPA says fuel economy test for hybrids is accurate
Mon, 26 Aug 2013
The EPA says it stands behind its fuel economy test for hybrid vehicles following controversy about the testing process after Ford C-Max Hybrid customers and automotive journalists alike struggled to achieve 47 miles per gallon, the advertised mpg number, Automotive News reports. Ford responded to the issue almost two weeks ago by claiming that a 1970s-era EPA general label rule was responsible for the inaccurate mileage numbers, rerating the C-Max Hybrid's mpg numbers and offering customers rebates. Ford later said it didn't overstate the C-Max Hybrid's fuel economy and that it was surprised by the low numbers.
Ford technically didn't do anything wrong because it was following the general label rule, but agency regulator Christopher Grundler says the automaker was exploiting a loophole when it came up with the hybrid C-Max numbers, and that the testing process remains accurate. The general label rule allows vehicles that use the same engine and transmission and are in the same weight class to share fuel economy numbers, but it doesn't take into account other factors such as aerodynamic efficiency, which affects hybrids more drastically than non-hybrid vehicles. Ford originally used the Fusion Hybrid economy figures for the C-Max Hybrid and claimed the engineers didn't realize that its aerodynamic efficiency would affect fuel economy as much as it did.
