1979 Ford Ranchero
GT
351 Windsor, 4 barrel, C4
Automatic, Power brakes, 134 AC, Power windows, Power
Steering.
This was repainted about 4
years ago, along with new carpet and seat covers. The chrome is very nice,
showing just a little age. There is a small (about 2") tear in the
headliner.
This is in excellent condition
and just needs a little engine compartment detailing to be ready for car
shows.
Everything works as it should
except the clock. The tires are almost new, probably less than 1000 miles on
them.
You don't find many Rancheros
that are not all worn out or rusted away and the GT model is one of the
rarest.
I have owned this for more
than 25 years. It was one of my daily drivers until I retired 11 years ago. I
fixed it all up but seldom use it and would rather see someone else put it to
use. My cars have always been stored inside and are never left
outside.
Here are a few extra pictures:
On Apr-17-14 at 18:42:23 PDT, seller added the following information: This Ranchero does NOT have power seats as listed in the Power Options details. I meant to indicate that it has Power Brakes. |

2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid recalled over lack of roof padding
Mon, 29 Jul 2013Ford is recalling 33,021 units of its 2013 C-Max Hybrid not equipped with optional panoramic roof panels. During testing, the model in question returned testing results for occupant head injuries that fell outside of criteria laid out in the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard. The issue puts occupants at greater risk of injury in the event of a crash if they are in an affected car.
The recall will begin August 19, at which time C-Max Hybrid owners can take their cars to dealers to have energy-absorbent material installed between the headliner and roof. The bulletin below from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has more information.

Ford acquires Livio to bolster connectivity biz
Thu, 26 Sep 2013Ford Motor Company has announced the acquisition of Livio, a Ferndale, MI-based software development company best known for aftermarket in-car connectivity devices, but also as a supplier of technology for proprietary systems for automakers. Livio, co-founded by Sigal and Massimo Baldini, will be a wholly owned subsidiary of Ford Global Technologies.
"With the additional expertise Livio provides us, Ford intends to continue to lead the next generation of in-car connectivity with technology advancements that give consumers more options to access their devices on the go," said Paul Mascarenas, chief technical officer and vice president, Ford Research and Innovation, in a statement.
Ford is clearly trying to beef up its in-house tech capability around telematics and device connectivity. While the Blue Oval has been a leader in these areas with SYNC and MyFord Touch in terms of getting the systems into as many cars as possible, the execution of the applications have been criticized for glitches.
