This Ranchero was a one owner car until I purchased 2012. It spend it whole time in Carlsbad, Ca. The vehicle went into storage sometime in 1997 or 98, owner not sure. I have all receipts dateing back to 1983 up to 1996. The last recorded mileage was 89286. Today mileage is 91268. I have receipts for over $1000.00 that I spent getting the car updated. All receipts will go with the vehicle. Here is a list of most of the installed. All fluids, oil, water, brake fluid and trans fluid. Power steering control valve and pump. Shift collar, battery, turn signal switch, power steering hoses (2), Head light switch, Fuel tank fill hose, radiator over flow tank, neutral safety switch, lighter, driver side window regulator, glove box and other miscellaneus items. This car also has a trailer hitch.
What it need machinicaly it may need a fuel sending unit or the wires going to sending unit is problem. I did test the fuel gauge and it is working using a test system. The carburetor needs adjusting. The lower DS door hinge need a spring which will go with the car. The clock does not work. The radio works fine.
After getting the car running it starts on first try with just one pump. It drives very nice except for a slight hesitation on fast acceleration. This is why I think the carb needs adjusting. It drives true and straight and feel strong and is quiet. The tires look new but were purchased sometime before 4/1/93
The body looks original with only three small problems. The only rust is a strip on the tailgate that holds tailgate panel on at the bottom. The strip is about 1 inch wide and the length of the tailgate. It is screwed on and should be replaced. There is a dent on the right rocker panel. see picture, and a repair done on the right rear over the wheel well that could have been done better. I took a picture but I don't think it shows in the picture. The car was repainted in Feburary 1993 as receipts show. There are a few chips and a spot where the paint has come off, it is about roughly 2 x 5 inches. The floor pants show NO signs of rust as well as the body. The interior is missing one arm rest and could use new door panels and seat covers.
California black plates not included in sale......
I've done my best to describe the car and if you have any questions please ask.
It is a very good daily driver and a good starting point for restoration which I was planning, but due to health problems at 72 years old I no longer can do any work.

Is that the Ford GT Le Mans racer in the background of this Forza video?
Mon, Jan 26 2015Shortly after the reveal of the new Ford GT in Detroit a couple of weeks ago, Microsoft announced that it was putting the new American supercar on the cover of the upcoming sixth installment of the Forza Motorsport video game series. Now it has put out a video of the process of digitizing Dearborn's latest. Whether you're into Detroit steel (or carbon fiber and aluminum in this case), exotic supercars or video games, the video is worth a watch in and of itself. But our eyes were focused on something else. In the background of one shot (around the 1:49 mark) you can see a design board with renderings of what looks to be the rumored racing version of the GT – complete with reshaped air intakes, deeper side sills, a bigger rear wing and a central rear fin like you'd find on the latest LMP1 racing prototypes. It wouldn't be the first time we've caught wind of the prospect of the Blue Oval's new supercar going racing. We first heard of the plans last October, further reinforced in December with reports of the new GT coming to Detroit. And as we reported just a couple of weeks ago following the supercar's reveal, a return to Le Mans could be in the cards – which would be fortuitous timing, since next year will mark the 50th anniversary of the original GT40 scoring its landmark 1-2-3 finish in the 24-hour race.
Ford blamed in drug mule lawsuit
Tue, 30 Jul 2013If a college student is caught smuggling drugs across the border, one might think the kid got what was coming to him. But when a Mexican student at the University of Texas in El Paso was caught by Border Patrol agents with duffel bags filled with marijuana in his trunk, the man used a classic excuse: He claimed they weren't his.
While a claim like that is almost unbelievable, Ricardo Magallanes, the student, is now suing Ford for handling its vehicles' key codes negligently enough to allow drug smugglers to break into his Ford Focus and stash the drugs, The Daily Caller reports. The twist here is that four other people who lived in Juarez and worked in El Paso were involved in the same type of scheme - allegedly unwittingly, just like Magallanes - and all the cars were Fords except one model from General Motors. FBI agents also found an employee at a Dallas Ford dealership that had accessed the key codes to all four of the cannabis-stuffed Fords.
While we all may not own Fords, the case still causes us slight paranoia. We'll definitely be checking our trunks before we cross any more international borders.
2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoost loses big power on 87 octane
Mon, Jan 5 2015The 2015 Ford Mustang with the 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder is a pretty potent package on paper. With 310 horsepower and 320 pound-feet of torque, it boasts better performance numbers than the 3.7-liter V6, but with better fuel economy as an added benefit. However, if you're in the market for one of these boosted 'Stangs, you should probably keep in mind that it really prefers to gulp premium, 93-octane fuel. It can drink 87-octane swill in a pinch, but you're going to find significantly less power underfoot when pulling away. While it's not shocking that the ponies are dialed back with a lower grade of gasoline, an alleged page from a Ford training manual obtained by Mustang 6G purports to show just how much power is lost, though. According to this document, the 2.3-liter EcoBoost makes 275 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque when running on lower octane fuel. That's a substantial reduction of about 11.3 percent compared to when the engine drinks 93 octane. Interestingly, according to Mustang 6G, that finding was a bit better than expected, because a Ford engineer reportedly said power would be down about 13 percent without altering peak torque. In speaking with Autoblog, Paul Seredynski of Ford powertrain communications, objected to part of this document. While he couldn't confirm the specific losses listed for the Mustang EcoBoost, "torque remains unchanged" with lower octane gasoline, Seredynski said. He speculated this training manual page was "possibly from before the engine was certified" and therefore showed incorrect figures. Serendynski did confirm that the automaker recommends using 93 octane, and like all modern engines, the software adapts if it's lower. "Peak power would be reduced" by using a lesser grade, he confirmed.
