The restoration was completed a few years back with much attention paid to driver comfort, the interior alone has had over 5k worth of upgrades done to it from car toys. The seats are custom full power lincoln ls seats covered in two tone leather, the stereo/cd player has multiple custom mounted speakers including two amps and two 8'' subs custom mounted behind the rear seats. The custom work to panels are really nice and blend in with the theme, even the door panels where custom built to like the rear quarter panels. Along with the stereo it has a custom built console that mounts the buttons for the new power windows and locks along with afrermarket gauges. The steering column is a rare option with vacuum assist which is worth over 1k itself. To top off the comfort the car has AC added to keep you cool in the hot summers. Driving this machine is a full roller late model 5.0 mustang engine & trans. The engine has a nice camshaft upgrade that gives it that old school idle. Along with the camshaft upgrade a Edelebrock intake and 4 barrel carb was added and finished out with Edelbrocks polished alm. valve covers & air cleaner that was detailed to match the engine color. The cooling system has been upgraded big time with a monster 4 core radiator and two electric fans. The exhaust consists of long tube headers and full duals with mini glass pack mufflers that make it sound awesome. The rear has been recently upgraded to a big ford 9'' which required some modifications but fits nicely. The suspension has been gone through and worn bushings replaced and a front disc brake conversion was installed as well. all The body is amazing with original rust free floors and straight body panels. The paint is fords calypso coral red/orange color that really pops in the sunlight. The paint and body where done a few years back when full resto was performed and has a few chips and minor scratches that are expected from a true driver car but very hard to see unless you get right up on the truck. The bed has been coated with liner and the gas filler has been moved to inside panel along with a really cool old school Coke cooler from the 60's that houses the rear mount battery. The wheels are very rare Edelbrock chrome 16'' with low profile tires that have excellent tread. The wheels alone sell for 2-3k if you can find them and where used on the Eleanor mustangs. All the rubber seals have been replaced throughout the truck and the chrome is in nice shape -bright and shiny. All in All this a great looking cruiser with creature comforts of newer cars that sounds like an old school muscle car - a true Resto-Moded ride! please feel free to email me for more info or to setup a time to check it out. I have a tone more pictures - there is so many details throughout this car that CL 8 pictures don't do it justice so email me for more and I will get them out asap.

Experts wonder if aluminum F-150 gives Ford a real advantage
Mon, 17 Mar 2014There's no doubt that Ford is taking a risk in producing the body of its upcoming new F-150 pickup truck in aluminum. What is up for debate, however, is whether aluminum was a wise risk to take in the first place. Wards Auto took the opportunity to poll some experts on the subject of aluminum versus steel in the automotive sector, with somewhat unsurprising results.
Richard Schultz, a project consultant at Ducker Worldwide, which bills itself as "a leading aluminum industry consultant (though they also deal in steels), suggests that the potential drawbacks to aluminum - higher costs, lower supply - aren't really impediments to the auto industry's increased acceptance of the lightweight metal.
Similarly, Randall Scheps, global automotive marketing director for Alcoa, a massive aluminum producer, counters claims that aluminum is less safe for vehicle occupants, suggesting that the use of aluminum can actually increase safety as it could potentially allow for larger vehicles with more crush space than steel.
Cadillac ELR, Nissan Resonance and Ford Atlas win Eyes on Design awards
Fri, 18 Jan 2013This year's annual Eyes on Design awards were presented at the end of press days for the Detroit Auto Show on Tuesday. Given out for the best production and concept car designs that debuted at the show, and voted on by an esteemed panel of actual car designers, this year's award for best production vehicle design went to the 2014 Cadillac ELR. The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette, which was the show favorite among Autoblog editors, apparently did not impress the Eyes on Design judges enough with its all-new vent-festooned design.
The award for best concept design was actually split as a tie among the Nissan Resonance and Ford Atlas concepts. Last year's winners were the 2013 Ford Fusion and the Lexus LF-LC concept.
The Eyes on Design organization also presented a new honor this year called the Catalyst Award to Bob Lutz, former Vice Chairman of General Motors. Lutz is reported to have given a defense of design in his acceptance speech, arguing that advancements in quality across the industry as a whole have made good design a key differentiator for buyers.
Weekly Recap: 2016 CTS-V gives Cadillac new momentum for the new year
Sat, Dec 27 2014It's been a rough year for Cadillac. The historic luxury carmaker been in the news for all of the wrong reasons: Declining sales, ditching its advertising agency and the relocation of its headquarters from Detroit to New York. But in late December, Cadillac reminded everyone what it does best: Build some of the rawest and most compelling luxury sedans in the world, as evidenced by the 2016 CTS-V. This monster churns out 640 horsepower from a supercharged 6.2-liter V8. Sound familiar? That's the Corvette Z06 engine, and it makes this CTS the most powerful production Cadillac ever. It also puts the sporting divisions of the Germans on notice. The new CTS-V easily overpowers the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG S 4Matic and its 5.5-liter biturbo V8 rated at 577 hp, and the BMW M5 (with the competition pack) and its 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 that pushes out 575 hp. The rear-wheel drive Cadillac can sprint to 60 miles per hour in 3.7 seconds, which is close to the 3.5-second time turned in by the 4Matic-driven E63 S, and a bit quicker than the 4.1 seconds posted by the M5. With Magnetic Ride Control, General Motors' stout eight-speed automatic transmission (also used in the Corvette), Brembo brakes and a carbon-fiber option package that pretty much builds your car out of carbon fiber – it's clear this Cadillac means business. Truth be told, we expected this CTS-V to deliver. It's been a serious sports sedan for a decade, and the recent generation and its 556-hp arrogance have been particularly memorable. But notice what we're doing here? We're talking about product. Not who makes Cadillac's ads, or if the brand's headquarters has a mailing address in NYC. Like the 2016 ATS-V that's due in the spring, the debut of the 2016 CTS-V (on sale in late summer) is a shot in the arm for Cadillac, and its arrival comes during time of transition. The brand is trying to reinvent itself as a modern luxury maker. It wants new customers, a different image and obviously more sales. Those things are going to take time, but with a 640-hp sledgehammer of a sports sedan on tap for next year, Cadillac can still maintain some of its swagger through all of the change.
