1965 Ford Ranchero Custom Built Restomod on 2040-cars
Lancaster, California, United States
Please read whole page before bidding or asking questions... I am helping a friend sell his 1965 Ford Ranchero. (This car is located in Lancaster, California 93534 !) This car was hand built by a professional ford hot rod builder in Los Angeles, Ca. and is a lot more then what first meets the eyes. The builder was an expert in classic fords and it shows. Under a well designed and fabricated original looking sleeper of a car is a beast that borders on a very impressive race car. This car was built to be daily driven at freeway speeds for long distances with no issues on normal gas from the pump. The price tag to build this car was far more then the reserve, and worth every penny if you consider the time to get it were it is. To drive this car is a dream, It sticks to the ground like it's on rails in the corners, Has more then enough power with a healthy high out put 302 small block, Gets great fuel mileage with the AOD overdrive transmission, and the disc brakes stops the car on a dime with spare change. If you have more questions feel free to ask. THE CAR IS LOCATED IN LASCASTER, CALIFORNIA 93534. The following is a list of stuff that was upgraded during the build to keep the factory look and have the performance feel. Suspension

Check out this link to hear it run. It's no longer on the wheels in the video. http://youtu.be/WZvSS2u0bKk This is a clean great running car for a fraction of the price it took to build, you will be a getting a good deal if you win this ride, and you will love every minute that you are driving it. My best friend got this car from his grandpa. He spent years and piles of cash to make it a very clean sleeper and eye catcher. He has decided to move on, After years of loving this car it is time to let someone else enjoy it. Feel free to ask questions. Vehicle speedometer has exceeded it mechanical limits and is stuck at 11639.8 I listed this car on my account as the owner has no eBay access . This car is located in Lancaster, California the owner is my best friend, He has a clean and clear California title in his name, in his hand. Car is ready for pick up right now. Ford could post best-ever profits in Q1 2013
Tue, 23 Apr 2013Analysts are saying that Ford Motor Company may have earned a record $2.7 billion pretax profit in North America during the first quarter of 2013, a number that represents its highest first quarter profit ever. The impressive earnings are further proof that the American automaker is making a solid comeback as the economy begins to recover.
Morgan Stanley and JP Morgan Chase are estimating that Ford's first quarter North American profit may have topped 12 percent. The firm cited the automaker's fresh lineup, but noted that CEO Alan Mulally needs to uphold the pace as the company works to gain ground in the car and utility segments.
Ford's success has been led by increased demand for its F-Series pickup, the best-selling vehicle in the US for 31 years, and by the Fusion sedan that recently recorded its best-ever quarterly sales in the domestic market. Ford is expected to release its first-quarter revenue on Wednesday, of this week.
Exceptionally rare '65 Ford GT40 Roadster prototype up for auction
Sat, 14 Jun 2014Think of mid-engined supercars and your mind is bound to gravitate towards Europe, but the United States has been known to make a handful from time to time - exceptional vehicles from the likes of Vector, SSC, Mosler, Hennessey, and Saleen. But long before any of those came around, Ford famously became obsessed with beating Ferrari at its own game, leading to the development of the iconic GT40.
The story is well known, sending Ford to the checkered flag at Le Mans four times in a row in the late 1960s. Ford and Shelby also built over 100 for public consumption, but just four of them were roadsters. Of those only one remains in original condition, and now that exceedingly rare example going up for auction.
Consigned to RM Auctions for its mid-August sale during Pebble Beach weekend in Monterey, California, this 1965 model is the first GT40 Roadster built. It was used as a development and demonstration vehicle for Ford and Shelby. Carroll Shelby himself drove Henry Ford II in this very car during one of many test and demo events, this time held for Ford's board of directors in Los Angeles.
Ford's Explorer-based Police Interceptor to get 365-hp EcoBoost option
Tue, 20 Aug 2013Speeders beware, the police are going to be getting quite a bit faster. Ford has just announced that it will be offering its 3.5-liter, twin-turbocharged, EcoBoost V6 in the Explorer Police Interceptor. The new engine will be joining the existing 3.7-liter V6. The 365-horsepower, 350-pound-foot mill should be familiar to consumers as the powerplant that's found in the Ford Taurus SHO (and its LEO equivalent, the Taurus Police Interceptor) and the Ford Explorer Sport. It should also provide quite a kick in the pants to officers used to the naturally aspirated 3.7 and its 304 ponies and 279 pound-feet of torque.
The move to the more potent powerplant was born out of all the equipment officers need to carry on a day-to-day basis. These days, there's so much stuff that police need on a regular basis, that there's a genuine market for a faster Police Interceptor Utility, as it's known officially. The Explorer-based cruiser has already accounted for 68 percent of Ford's LEO sales in 2013, and that's with just the 3.7, and we'd only expect that number to increase once the twin-turbo, 3.5-liter V6 is available. Ford won't offer up any indication of what the take rate will be on the new engine, but we're guessing it'll be fairly high.
The success of the Explorer PI couldn't have come at a better time for Ford. The decision to end Crown Victoria production was not a popular one with police, and combined with Chevrolet and Dodge diving into the LEO market feet first, Ford hasn't been performing as well as it's wanted to. The Explorer has been helping it turn around, though. And with the inclusion of the EcoBoost, Ford also has a legit competitor for the Chevrolet Tahoe on the big utility side of the police market.
