This is a '59 Ford Ranch Wagon. This thing is a real head turner! Runs and drives good. Sounds good too. I bought it mostly restored (meaning body work, paint, motor, trans and partial interior work already done). The car used to have a flat head six in it but now it has a 1968 302ci Boss motor with a 4 Speed manual trans. This is my baby and I hate to get rid of her but she's got to go because we need the money.

The following is a list of things done to the car just before I purchased it...

1. Fresh body work & paint job
2. Rebuilt '68 302 Boss V8 Engine (I've only put 2,500 miles on it!)
3. 4 Speed Manual Trans (clutch replaced too)
4. Full Dual exhaust with cherry bombs
5. Hooker headers
6. Blue Tip Cragar Rims
7. Carpet and Headliner replaced
8. Hood Scoop
9. Full set of gauges (Oil pressure, water temp and voltage)

This a list of things I've recently done to the car...

1. New Tires
2. New Battery
3. New Front Breaks & Wheel Cylinders
4. New Champion 5 Core Radiator
5. New Overflow bottle
6. New Ooga Horn
7. New Steering Wheel
8. New Fuel Pump and Line
9. New rear seat belts (for the kids!)
10. Complete Tune Up
11. New Tail Light Lenses
12. New Rear view mirror
13. New Turn signal unit
14. All Fluids changed regularly

Miles: 35,268 (That's what the odometer says but I'm guessing it has flipped.)

NOTE: Also comes with the Rear Fender / Wheel Skirts, Original Steering Wheel, Original Horns, Original Radiator, New (still in the box) Electric Radiator Fan with auto thermostat controller and extra New Tail Light Lenses too. (not shown in photos)

Price: $7,500 or best offer.

Experts wonder if aluminum F-150 gives Ford a real advantage

Mon, 17 Mar 2014

There's no doubt that Ford is taking a risk in producing the body of its upcoming new F-150 pickup truck in aluminum. What is up for debate, however, is whether aluminum was a wise risk to take in the first place. Wards Auto took the opportunity to poll some experts on the subject of aluminum versus steel in the automotive sector, with somewhat unsurprising results.
Richard Schultz, a project consultant at Ducker Worldwide, which bills itself as "a leading aluminum industry consultant (though they also deal in steels), suggests that the potential drawbacks to aluminum - higher costs, lower supply - aren't really impediments to the auto industry's increased acceptance of the lightweight metal.
Similarly, Randall Scheps, global automotive marketing director for Alcoa, a massive aluminum producer, counters claims that aluminum is less safe for vehicle occupants, suggesting that the use of aluminum can actually increase safety as it could potentially allow for larger vehicles with more crush space than steel.

New car market raining on convertibles' parade

Mon, 08 Jul 2013

Whether fitted with soft or hard folding lids, today's droptops are better than ever for year-round motoring. Advancements in power top mechanisms, sealing, aerodynamics, structural rigidity, rollover safety and creature comforts like heated and cooled seats mean that modern convertibles are more versatile and better to drive than ever before. Yet the segment's sales took a dive during the recession and haven't come back, Automotive News reports.
Part of that is because automakers are looking at today's more sensible buyers and simply not developing as many new models, and that lack of fresh iron is curbing sales. AN cites R.L. Polk data which notes that only about one percent of new vehicles registered in the US last year had tops that folded. Back in 2009, it was 1.4 percent, and it was 2 percent in 2006. All-in, some 151,636 convertibles were registered in 2012. That's more units more than were registered in each of the past three years, but the market has also grown as the economy has picked up speed, and as a percentage of new vehicles purchased, convertible sales are lagging.
Thus far in 2013, the Ford Mustang is America's top-selling convertible, with 6,421 units registered through the end of April, followed by its rival, the Chevrolet Camaro, at 4,751 units. The Volkswagen Beetle isn't far behind, with 4,305, but from that point, it's a steep drop off to the fourth-place Mercedes-Benz SL-Class and its 2,380 sales.
