This is a 1957 Ford Ranchero, first year of production, in running condition, but needing work. It has the original 292 engine and 2 speed transmission, 2 barrel carb.  The engine is missing in 3 cylinders, most likely a valve job. I have owned the car about 12 years, and unfortunately only drive it  4 or 5 times a year. It has always been licensed and insured. Having other cars also, I have not given this Ranchero the attention it deserves.  Definitely could use a full restoration. The bench seat and carpet have been redone, but the dash pad, and headliner needs replacing, door panels look good, and the gauges don't work, odometer, not sure of the mileage, just put in a figure because I had to.  The lights, turn signals, brake lights all work. Under the hood, new radiator, water pump, fuel pump, battery, and rebuilt carb. everything else is stock. The body, looks decent, no dents, used a magnet around wheel wells, couldn't find bondo. You can see surface rust along edges, small bubbles around wheel wells, but are firm. The only significant rust it had, was behind the passenger seat. A pan was placed there when the carpet was redone. It has all the chrome, trim pieces, and original hubcaps. Any other questions, feel free to email, I could send more pictures. I have tried the be as honest as I could and not sugar coat anything, hope the pictures give you a good idea.  Thanks

Unibody Ford Ranger replacement

Former Ford president, Jaguar chairman Nick Scheele dead at 70

Sun, 20 Jul 2014

We have the privilege here at Autoblog of reporting a lot of good news, but it is our duty as well to report the bad news and sad news as well. And this is one of those occasions as the automotive industry mourns the passing of one of its leaders.
Nick Scheele was born in the UK in 1944 and joined the Ford Motor Company upon graduating from the University of Durham in 1966, staying within the Blue Oval's portfolio for the entirety of his career. After moving to North America in 1978, he rose through the ranks to become president of Ford's Mexican operations in 1988. After acquiring Jaguar, Ford appointed Scheele as its chairman.
Scheele subsequently acted as chairman of all of Ford's European operations, making difficult decisions to take the division out of the red and into the black. He briefly headed up Ford's North American division before he was appointed in 2001 as president and chief operating officer of the global automaker, working under CEO Bill Ford following the departure of Jacques Nasser departure and retaining the role until his retirement in 2005.
