68 Mustang G.t. Coupe 390-2v Candyapple Red White C-stripe Original X-code on 2040-cars
Allentown, Pennsylvania, United States
X-code Mustang produced in 1968 which stands for a special engine size of 390-2V. Its a very rare Mustang, and is not known exactly how many were built. (We contacted Ford in Florida, who stated that it is probable that 528 were produced) The two-barrel big block 390 Cougar engine was put in the Mustang to test the performance of these special Mustangs. The heads and decompression ratio were the same S-code, as the 390V.
The X-code 390 is the only two barrel big block ever installed in the Mustang, and as such it holds an interesting place in history. Options.......................it has the original GT badgeing, automatic transmission, the Tach reaches up to 8000 rpm. It still has the original AM radio. Overhead woodgrain console with map lights. Woodgrain dash, and panels on both doors. It also has chrome GT wheels, original candy apple red paint color, turn signals are in the hood as well as in the front of the car. It also has fog lights, and GT suspension. Drum brakes. Recently installed a 'better cooling' aluminum radiator directly from FORD. We have had the car since 1983. Garage kept. Car is driven all thru-out the summer anywhere from 2 miles -400 miles. Car show ready. |

Ford begins testing right-hand-drive Mustang
Wed, 20 Aug 2014Ford has officially kicked off testing of the right-hand-drive variant of its sixth-generation, 2015 Mustang, according to a statement issued by the company, which came with the above photo.
According to Ford, this will mark the first time a right-hand-drive 'Stang has traveled down the company's assembly line alongside its LHD brethren. It is far from the first of the legendary pony cars to feature its wheel on the wrong side, though, as converters in RHD markets across the globe have been making swaps for years.
Ford is planning on using the white, droptop Mustang for RHD development ahead of the car's arrival in the UK, Australia and South Africa, among other markets. Scroll down for the official press blast.
