Up for auction we have a very solid 1932 Ford BB c cab tanker truck. 131 1/2" wheelbase. These custom body cowl trucks were used mostly for firetrucks and school buses. Imagine filling your 32 coupe or roadster out of the back of this. A very nice foundation for a restored tanker truck or you could put it on a new chassis and find a bed, doors and the back of the cab and have yourself a roadster pick up. Only 593 Roadster pickups were produced in 32.

No title, Bill of sale only!!!!

1 tiny rust hole where the lower windshield spacer mounted to the cowl, NO rust holes anywhere else on the cowl, dash or firewall. Firewall does have 2 extra holes in it from a heater being installed, and 1 side has a crack down on the mounting foot. The grille is the worst part of the whole deal but still isnt horrible, pictures show it all. Fenders have been repaired on the bottom side and dont look too bad from the top side. Radiator looks good. Engine numbers matche the frame numbers. 50 horsepower banger engine turns over with battery jump and trans works somewhat because the truck tried to move while turning it over. clutch is working but Shifted out of gear a little stiff, but it did. The brakes felt functional while coming off of the trailer, but i would absolutely inspect them. park brake functions well. That is all I know about the chassis other than it appears it used to have duals in the rear but no longer does. All of the wood should be redone but most of it is there for making patterns.
It is missing some parts: seat, gauges, mirrors, hood hold down latches, windshield, front hood pivot and im sure theres more. Comes with a pair of model t fenders on the rear. The tank is not mounted on the back but will be strapped down. The big old u bolts are included as well as the original valves for the tank. Front and rear bumpers are also included along with a barrel of original wood from somewhere on the body.

This truck is the beginning to the vary rare 32 roadster pickup. The cowl is identical in shape and size with the same firewall, only difference is the windshield mounting supports are not there and there are no holes for the sidemount spare tire. The door hinge bolt holes are there but were never used.

My plan was the roadster pickup until my wife told me her plans. She wants to move and I think she might leave me here with the truck if I dont get rid of it. My loss of dreams can be your gain. I will be parting it out if I cant find another dreamer.
Buyer is responsible for all shipping charges but I will work with you on shipping and do what I can to help. load it up.

Ford bringing production F-150 to Detroit with Atlas styling and Alcoa blast shields

Fri, 27 Dec 2013

According to a report in Bloomberg, the 2015 Ford F-150 will indeed be showing up at the Detroit Auto Show next month. It will bring attitude with it, not only in the form of sheetmetal inspired by the Atlas concept (pictured) that appeared at the 2013 Detroit show but also in the Alcoa military blast shields among the display being used to showcase the ruggedness of aluminum.
There's been a lot of talk about the F-150 switching to aluminum body panels (although maintaining a steel frame), and for good reason. The lightweight body is expected to shed more than 700 pounds and greatly increase its highway mileage, but production-line issues and possible delays have been a major focus of attention concerning the best-selling vehicle in America for 32 years, meaning Ford has to get it right. F-150 is responsible for a massive portion of the company's global profits and it will come in a year when company profits are already predicted to decline because of new car launches.
When it comes to dings, the Bloomberg story says Ford wants Alcoa to supply some of the military-grade aluminum it uses for blast shields on battlefield vehicles to help it talk up the toughness of aluminum. Reading commentary on the many stories about the F-150 reveals there are many more little questions about the aluminum overhaul, like "How much will it cost to repair and insure?" and "How will companies hang their magnetic signs?" Answers should start coming in a couple of weeks.

Production of Shelby GT350 is coming to an end

Fri, 26 Jul 2013

One Autoblog staffer who drove the limited-edition Shelby GT350 wrote it probably was the best Mustang he'd driven, but, at some point, the fun had to come to an end: December 31 is the last day the GT350 will be available to order.
The GT350's option list has evolved much like it did for the original 1965-67 GT350. For 2011, the 45th Anniversary edition only came in coupe form and was painted white with blue stripes, just as with the 1965 car. The 2012 GT350 was offered as a coupe or convertible, and three colors were added to the option list, just like the 1966 model. For 2013, more colors and options were added in addition to equipment and styling updates, which resulted in Wilwood instead of Baer brakes. No major changes were made for the 2014 model. From the first car in 2011, customers have been able to choose between three different configurations for their 5.0-liter V8: naturally aspirated with 440 horsepower, supercharged with 525 hp (with warranty) or supercharged with 624 hp (without warranty).
"When we unveiled this latest version of the Shelby GT350, we promised it would be built for a limited time to preserve its collectability and value," states John Luft, president of Shelby American. He may have a point, because the original GT350, which also had a limited production run, is among the most valuable muscle cars in the world.

Even Ford executives had issues with MyFord Touch

Fri, Oct 7 2016

MyFord Touch is one of the auto industry's more controversial features. The media broadly panned the infotainment system developed with Microsoft for its slow responses and reliance on voice commands to navigate its deep menus. Oh, and Ford executives weren't big fans, either. Newly revealed court documents in a California class-action lawsuit demonstrate the level of venom Ford employees, both big and small, reserved for the Blue Oval's infotainment system. An error caused Bill Ford's navigation system to crash, leaving the family scion stuck on the side of the road in an unfamiliar area. The documents, unearthed by Forbes, detail current CEO Mark Fields' aggravations with MFT, too. A mechanic emailed an image of a cracked infotainment screen on an Edge to one of Ford's top Sync engineers, Kenneth Williams, suggesting "Mark Fields may have been a little aggravated with the system." But Ford and Fields' issues are nothing compared to the woes of the engineers that had to work on MFT. In a collection of emails obtained by Forbes, one engineer called the system "a polished turd," while another simply said, "These poor customers." And after one engineer suggested using a photo of Ford's Oakville Assembly Plant – home of the Edge, Flex, Lincoln MKX, and MKT production – as a background for the system, one of his coworkers said in an email that someone should instead Photoshop the image to read "abandon hope all ye who enter here," the Detroit News reports. Another summed up the problem, saying: "Ford's quality reputation is completely on the line ... another model year with the same crap is not acceptable." MyFord Touch almost single-handedly torpedoed Ford's reputation in widely reported quality metrics, including JD Power and Consumer Reports. Ford responded with a refreshed Sync3, a wildly improved rethink of its infotainment system that is far more responsive and easier to live with every day.
