Ford Pickup F1 Flathead F-1 F100 1948 1949 1950 on 2040-cars
Sheboygan, Wisconsin, United States
Well f1 guys.... I'm am selling a pretty neat 1948 pickup. The truck has been 95% restored approx 7 years ago. Then stored inside until I purchased it in spring. I was very impressed with the overall workmanship, new steel box complete with new tailgate, new fiberglass fenders front and rear. Also new glass running boards as well. Being a Wisconsin truck I was concerned about rust in the cab. To my surprise the owner had the cab replaced with a cab from an old fire truck cab. No rust. The paint is nice, not perfect and not a 15k job, but nice, color sanded and buffed. New wiring harness and a lot of other parts were part of the restoration. Ex. King pins etc. Along with a freshening of the engine, not sure to what degree. Runs well no smoke.
I'm selling this truck...... It's going. I have committed to purchase a 66 vette, this is your chance to purchase this before it goes to the dealer I bought the car from. The facts. Please understand this is a nice, and neat truck, not junk.... But not ready for a 500 mile tour either. It needs some tlc The brakes were new seem to work well Under carriage has been cleaned and painted with a rust conversion product Overall nice glass and rubber seals New wire harness, factory style not a universal kit I drove it numerous times, locally Once or twice the solenoid on the fire wall stuck. I'm sure from sitting. Shifts like and old floor shift. Truck needs Front bumper Refinish wood in the box was new when restored, to look new again Rubber floor mat or carpet if you choose The letters ford for the nose A lot of the missing stainless not on the truck goes with, was never reinstalled Inner door panel gone drivers side. Probably all new fluids and fuel as well Wing window frames are rusting through the chrome. Tires are nice rims showing their age And the unknown we all know about. Headliner is sagging, horn button gone" With very little investment of time or money this truck would run along side any other f1 in the 18-23k range Truck must go this week . |

NHTSA upgrades Ford floor mat unintended acceleration probe
Mon, 17 Dec 2012According to a Bloomberg report, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has upgraded an investigation into complaints of unintended acceleration lodged against Ford vehicles. The investigation began in June of 2010 when just three complaints had been received and it only concerned the Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan, but this was at a time when the phrase "unintended acceleration" made grown men go pale. With 49 additional complaints received since then, the investigation has been reclassified as an engineering analysis - the last phase before a recall - and it has been expanded to include the Lincoln MKZ, making for a total of "around 480,000" units affected between the three sedans from the 2008 to 2010 model years.
The ostensible cause is that floor mats are trapping the accelerator pedal, but according to a Ford statement at the time, the entrapment is due to owners placing the optional all-weather floor mats, or aftermarket floor mats, on top of the car's standard floor mats. NHTSA has backed up that assessment, pinning the blame on "unsecured or double stacked floor mats."
On the face of it, it would appear that NHTSA has upgraded the status not because of Ford's error, but owner error, and Ford has stated publicly that it is "disappointed" in NHTSA's move. On top of NHTSA still being skittish after that other unintended acceleration debacle, it could be seen to be taking its time investigating all of the variables: it's reported that Ford changed its accelerator pedal design in 2010, a "heel blocker" in the floorpan has been considered a potential culprit in how the floor mats could be trapping the pedal, some drivers have said the floor mats weren't anywhere near the pedal, and according to a report in the LA Times, in "a letter sent by Ford to NHTSA in August 2010, the automaker said it found three injuries and one fatality that 'may have resulted from the alleged defect.'"
Watch how Ken Block spent his weekend in Barbados
Thu, 22 May 2014Regardless of what you think of his skill as a racer, Ken Block is an expert showman. At this point, he has a career of showing up around the world to do vehicular stunts, and he's still able to go racing as well. It's a pretty sweet niche to carve out. Recently, Block was in Barbados to participate in Top Gear Live and the first event of the Global Rallycross Championship season, and Ford Racing produced a short video to show off his exploits.
It looked like a great show. Block got to race Lewis Hamilton in a Mercedes-Benz Formula One car and had a very weird crash during a Rallycross race that put his Ford Fiesta on its roof. Top Gear also released an extended look at Block and Hamilton's spectacle with the two of them expertly sliding around. Scroll down to watch the videos and get a taste of Block's tropical racing adventure.
Ford and Mercedes join Renault in French emissions investigation
Thu, Jan 21 2016The French government is investigating certain models from Ford, Mercedes-Benz, and Renault because they allegedly produce more nitrogen oxide than the country's pollution rules allow, according to Automotive News, citing a French newspaper. After VW's emissions scandal, French regulators began checking more vehicles for evidence of defeat devices and excessive real-world pollution. According to Automotive News, the Mercedes S350 allegedly showed inconsistent results across these tests, and a Ford C-Max had NOx levels five times over the limit. The Renault Captur crossover, Espace, and an unnamed utility vehicle also had results that were too high. The French testing for this investigation includes an on-road emissions check that's not part of the EU's normal evaluations, which some automakers claim is unfair. "Unofficial on-road testing has varying conditions and can produce significantly different results," a Ford of Europe spokesman told Automotive News. Renault representatives met with French officials on January 18 to explain the situation. The company later submitted a plan to recall 15,800 examples of the diesel Captur, and said it would offer a voluntary software upgrade for about 700,000 other vehicles, according to Automotive News. Representatives from Ford and Mercedes will meet with the government soon, too. Renault's stock price plunged last week after investors heard that French regulators searched three of the automaker's sites as part of the emissions investigation. The stockholders feared an environmental scandal like the one currently embroiling Volkswagen. There's one major difference – as of now, there's no evidence Renault equipped any of the polluting models with defeat devices. Related Video:
