You are bidding on a 2007 Ford F550 that is in great shape with 59,438 miles. The truck has been well maintained and has not been used commercially. It has been privately used to haul Broncos and other vehicles to and from shows since new. The truck has been used as a work truck and is not perfect. It has the normal wear for a truck of its age and miles. The paint is in great shape over all but has some small chips and a few small scratches. The interior is very clean and only has some wear on the drivers seat with the typical small signs of cracking in the leather. The bed has a bedliner but has been used to haul many things over the years. It has some dents in the floor from hauling heavy things and also a few chips in the lining but is still in good shape over all. The truck is loaded with tan leather and heated seats. It also has a factory 6 disc changer and intergrated trailer brake controller. We did the pickup conversion when it was bought new. It has a 40 gallon main fuel tank and we added a 34 gallon transferflow auxiliary tank that is controlled with one of the upfitter switches. The truck has rails for a Signature Series Reese hitch with a 30k gooseneck hitch and a 24k fifth wheel hitch new still in the box. We are dealers for Bulletproof Diesel and installed a full bulletproof kit on this truck shortly after the warranty was up. We also installed an Edge Insight to monitor all the important stuff including EGTs. The truck has a 4.88 limited slip rear differintal with 19.5 Alcoa wheels and Michelin tires. The front tires are about 70% and the rears are a little less than 50%. The truck will be great for someone pulling a hotshot trailer, large camper, or horse trailer etc. Buyer is responsible for shipping and will need to pay a $500 deposit via Paypal. Please call with any questions. Thanks Van (864) 983-2979 shop or (864) 871-0383 cell

Ford F-Series Super Duty prototype reduced to smoldering mess of aluminum and steel [UPDATE]

Mon, 04 Aug 2014

The most important bit of information you need to know after looking through our high-res gallery of images depicting a prototype 2016 Ford F-Series Super Duty pickup truck burning to the ground is that nobody was hurt. There were two engineers inside the vehicle when it caught fire, and both exited to safety.
That's the good news. The bad news is that the truck, which appears to have been testing in Death Valley, appears to be a total loss, minus, of course, whatever information Ford can glean from the conflagration - particularly tracing it back to its root cause. Besides that, we're also expecting the body of the next Super Duty to be hewn from aluminum, as is the case with its smaller brother, the brand-new F-150. Note the little aluminum droppings littering the roadway as apparent proof of that.
Our spy photographers report that it took just 21 minutes for the F-Series Super Duty to burn completely to the ground. The fire appears to have started in the driver-side front wheel well, spreading to engulf the entire front end in three minutes. We can't confirm the source of the blaze, but we're curious if the car's black vinyl cladding, meant to obscure the secrets within, contributed to the fire.

Carfection looks for the ultimate pocket rocket

Fri, Mar 18 2016

If there's one thing we love, it's a good showdown. Especially when it's on video, done by some Englishmen, and involving some manner of performance machinery. Like this latest clip, for example, from Carfection. The team formerly known as Xcar have assembled three very compelling supermini hot hatches: two we can get on our side of the pond, and one we can't. One American, one Frenchman, and one Brit. One cheap, one expensive, and one somewhere in between. They all pack turbo fours, of course, but placed in entirely different packages. There's the evergreen favorite Ford Fiesta ST, the Renault Clio RS 220 Trophy that should have the rest licked, and the retro rocket that is the Mini JCW. And there's only one way to find out which is the best. It's a tough contest, to be sure, but lest you think it all comes down to specifications or which one's the newest, you'll want to think again. Because when it comes to hot hatches, all the electronic gizmos and power boosts in the world can't show up a perfectly dialed-in chassis that lets you hug the curves and feel like you're going a lot faster than you actually are. But don't take our word for it – see what our British friends have to say about it in the Queen's English in the seventeen-minute clip above. Related Video:

Ford reveals new rapid prototyping and low-volume production techniques [w/video]

Mon, 08 Jul 2013

It's called "F3T," and that stands for Ford Free-form Fabrication Technology. The process that The Blue Oval has developed means being able to sidestep the weeks-long process of tool-and-die making when engineers want to construct a new part, allowing them to fabricate a three-dimensional part from a two-dimensional sheet of metal in just hours.
While F3T is being developed it is limited to "low-volume prototyping or even low-volume niche vehicles," but the next step is to evaluate it for use in Ford's global manufacturing facilities. You can find out more about it in the video and the press release below.
