1952 Ford F1 Street Rod Pickup on 2040-cars
Kansas City, Missouri, United States
This was beautifully reconditioned in the 90s with new upholstery and power everything.
It drives great and turns lots of heads. Some fluid leaks, etc. Mileage is listed above is zero because eBay required a number, but mileage is unknown after the reconditioning. Engine is rebuilt 1986 Chevy 4.3 V6 with 1981 229 (3.8) heads. Transmission is 1981 Chevy 350 Turbo. Rebuilt power steering rack and pinion. Recent 4-core radiator with trans cooler, electric radiator fan, hoses. Recent exhaust system (needs flex joints at side pipes). New gas tank (No Limit Engineering) and transmitter moved to rear of chassis. Recent brakes, brake lines, check valves, master cylinder, rear cylinders. Recent upper and lower ball joints. Recent windshield wiper system. Recent alternator and high-output starter. Recent MSD ignition system. New hand-made truck bed and new bed boards. Boards are oiled with lemon oil. Power windows require care so as not to go below. Transmission/rear end combo is not for highway. Power steering rack and pinion weeps both sides (lack of use, dried seals). Rear pumpkin seal weeps (new seal included with extra things provided). Front coils were cut (2 rings) to lower (by previous owner). Looks good, but rides hard on poor surfaces. Speedometer doesn’t work—could be a wire problem at the transmitter. Exterior is still very nice after 90s reconditioning, but it has some flecks, etc. Seat is original frame with all-new seating materials. I will accept payment as cash, money order, or cashier's check. Deposit of $300 required within 24 hours of auction end. Full payment required within 7 days of auction close. Thank you! If needed, I can help you post this for transport to your home. |

Last 2014 Ford Shelby GT500 Convertible nets $500k for charity at Barrett-Jackson [w/video]
Tue, 13 Aug 2013The last 2014 Ford Shelby GT500 Convertible was sold on Saturday at a Barrett-Jackson auction in Reno, Nevada, for $500,000. Ford donated the Mustang to be auctioned for charity, and all of the money is going to the Brain Injury Association of America.
Parnelli Jones, winner of the 1963 Indianapolis 500, was there on behalf of the BIAA with his son Page, who suffered a brain injury in a sprint car crash in 1994. The bidding increased quickly, reaching $500k in no time, spreading a bit more hope to people who live with brain injuries.
The winning bidder will be able to choose the GT500's exterior, interior and stripe colors, and is scheduled to receive the car, signed by Parnelli Jones in appreciation for the donation, by the end of 2013. Watch the video below to see the auction-block action.
Ward's reveals annual 10 Best Engines list for 2013
Thu, 13 Dec 2012Ward's Auto has released its annual 10 Best Engines award winners. The 2013 list covers the full width and breadth of the internal combustion spectrum, from a spate of efficient four-cylinders to the most powerful production V8 on the planet. As always, the entries must be available in a production vehicle in the first quarter of 2013 with an MSRP of less than $55,000. The supercharged 3.0-liter V6 from the Audi S5 held on for the fourth consecutive year, and BMW earned two spots on the list with its turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder and turbo 3.0-liter inline-six.
Ford pulled in two awards for its 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder and and the supercharged 5.8-liter V8 from the Shelby GT500. Honda matched BMW and Ford with two wins of its own. Wards awarded the 2.4-liter four-cylinder from the Honda Accord Sport as well as the 3.5-liter V6 from the Honda Accord. Chrysler, General Motors and Subaru each garnered a spot on the list as well for the 3.6-liter V6 in the Ram 1500, the turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder in the Cadillac ATS and the 2.0-liter four-cylinder the Subaru BRZ, respectively.
