1951 Ford F Series Pick Up Truck Solid Body & Frame Hot Street Rat Rod Flathead on 2040-cars

Year:1951 Mileage:9999
Location:

Reading, Pennsylvania, United States

Reading, Pennsylvania, United States

I hate to sell this because I was always looking for a SOLID pick up truck of this era and as soon as I found this one, my storage facility is being sold to settle an estate.  This would be an excellent nostalgic truck to put together with just sealer for paint and have some fast fun with it or for a restoration. This is for the complete body and frame with no engine or transmission. The trim, fuel tank, heater, radiator, door and window mechanisms, etc… all appear to be there. The glass is there along with new weather stripping and seals.  Since the glass is already out, I would recommend putting new glass in and it is readily available or the pieces that come with it can be used for patterns. The frame was cleaned and painted black with original front axle and it has a disc brake conversion.  The engine and transmission mounts have not been altered so if you want to still use a Ford Flathead motor, the steel mounts for that are included. I believe the rear may be from a 1953 truck but cannot confirm that.

The body is VERY solid, especially the cab and doors.  The fenders may have had some repair work done but this truck would take very little in body and prep work to make it look great. The bed and tailgate is not bad at all and the running boards will need a little rust repair but are good. I have learned the hard way that it is best to buy something in good shape and pay a little more than to pay big bucks for repair work.

I took pictures of the parts that go with the truck and it appears most of everything is there.  There are some duplicate parts like wing window frames and window crank mechanism (see pictures)  Used and reproduction parts are readily available.  Below is a list of the new rubber and seals that are included:

·        Division window bar and channel

·        Rear window rubber

·        Windshield rubber

·        Back of front fender to cowl seal

·        Door seal kit

·        Vent window rubber seals

·        Cowl vent seal

·        Gas tank neck grommet

·        Cowl lacing kit

Truck is located in Sinking Spring, Pa which is West of Reading and is for sale locally.  Winning bidder pays $500 non-refundable deposit within 48 hours of the end of auction. It is buyers responsibility to pick it up or make full shipping arrangements.  This comes with a bill of sale only– no title.  The missing title is not an issue because you can get new title based on the truck being put together with salvage parts.

Ford Focus Electric and ST recalled over lighting issue

Mon, 12 Aug 2013

Ford is recalling 6,308 units of the 2012 and 2013 Focus Electric and 2013 Focus ST that were fitted with HID headlights because a "wiring incompatibility" could keep the front side marker lights from working. A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says the recall should begin in the middle of this month, after which owners can take their cars to dealers to have the wiring assembly repaired free of charge.
You can find more information in the NHTSA bulletin posted below.

Build your dream garage with this insane prize from Omaze

Wed, Jan 19 2022

Autoblog may receive a share from purchases made via links on this page. Pricing and availability is subject to change. No donation or payment necessary to enter or win this sweepstakes. See official rules on Omaze. Normally when we write about Omaze sweepstakes, they involve a car that you'd never go out and buy on your own. A six-figure camper van build, a $300,000 Ford Bronco restoration, a Land Rover Defender that's so beautiful it should be in a museum. Today's prize might beat out all of those, because not only could you win a dream car, you'll be entered for a chance to win $100k cash to go along with it.  There are a lot of cars you can buy with $100k. You could buy a Land Cruiser Heritage Edition or a Mustang GT500 or 6 Chevy Sparks and start your own racing series. Personally, if I won that kind of dough, assuming I also won this Bentley Bentayga, my favorite of Omaze's current offerings, I'd probably use some of it to buy something quirky, like a Honda Element converted into a pop-top camper, or a restored/upgraded 60 series Land Cruiser. Think that's a terrible way to spend the cash? That's the beauty of it. It is completely up to you. No one can tell you what to do with it. Except maybe your spouse.  Here are our favorite vehicle giveaways we’ve found online this week: 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition - Enter at Omaze Regardless of what you think about Ford using the name Mustang for an electric crossover, one thing is for certain, the Mustang Mach-E GT is an impressive piece of machinery. Petrolicious pays visit to tuning sensation the Ringbrothers

Fri, 08 Nov 2013

We caught up with a few projects from Ringbrothers at SEMA this year: a classic Ford Mustang body rendered in carbon fiber, and a De Tomaso Pantera-based concept that made us swoon.
It's with good timing then, that our friends at Petrolicious have uploaded their newest, well-crafted mini-documentary to the expansive airwaves of the Internet. Here, we meet the brothers Ring in person - Mike and Jim - and see how they've lent they're passion for craftsmanship to their business, along with their surname. A 1964 Ford Fairlane dubbed "Afterburner" and a 1965 Mustang called "Producer" star in this show.
