1950 Ford F-1 Pick Up.  Overall solid truck thats needs to be gone over again.  Could be a very cool ride once again.

PLEASE NOTE-  Georgia vehicles between prior to 1985 are legal sold without title, sold with State of Georgia T-7 Bill of Sale form.  This is a bill of sale of car, no title.  Check with your state to see how they handle this.   In 1950 state of Georgia did not even have titles for cars.

BODY- Overall good solid truck.  Not an Arizona truck, not a Northern rust bucket.  Has bondo in cab corners and around back bumper where it was smoothed in years ago.  Front fenders have the usual rust but are repairable.  Doors are very solid and nice.  Bed is very solid and nice, same with tailgate.  Needs new wood in bed. Hood is good, not perfect but very useable.  Rear fenders and side boards are great like bed and gate.  Both front windshield and back cab glass have had the rubber gaskets replaced and are good.   Headliner is good, not perfect.

INTERIORHeadliner is good, not perfect.  Seats are cool- from a early 60's T-bird and are pretty nice black bucket seats.  Door panels are decent.   The original dash was removed for a custom home made aluminum dash with 67 Mustang gauge .pod.  Looks like crap really. Add a custom dash and all is well.  Floors are solid.

DRIVETRAIN- 289 Mustang motor and C-4 transmission. Has the original Mustang T handle auto shifter on the floor.  Engine appears to match the dash gauge pod.  Nice motor, built a few years back.  Engine has Edelbrock intake and finned aluminum valve covers, Holley dual feed carb, headers.  Brand new dual exhaust with new turbo mufflers all the way back.  Sounds awesome.

Overall very nice truck to finish your way.  Go Rat Rod, Army Bomber, Stock, Hot Rod.....  what ever you choose.

Thanks for looking.

2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid

No Prius Killer
As much as we enthusiasts like to rail on the lowly Toyota Prius as the harbinger of death for all we hold dear, there's no denying the machine's absolute and interminable grip on the hybrid hatchback market in the United States. Toyota has so thoroughly sunk its teeth into the segment that you can clearly hear the automaker's incisors clacking against one another with the conclusion of each financial quarter. And there's little wonder why. Buyers can plop down less than $25,000 and have a runabout that can return up to an estimated 51 miles per gallon in the city, leaving every other entry on the market with precious little gristle to gnaw on.
Enter the 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid. With its claimed 47 mpg combined, the funky little hatch from Europe already falls behind the 48 mpg city offered by the Prius, but that marginal sacrifice in fuel economy could be a small price to pay for buyers who want a credible alternative to the stalwart Toyota. Unfortunately, like the Fusion Hybrid, the C-Max Hybrid had trouble even approaching its Environmental Protection Agency estimates during our time with the car.

The fascinating forgotten civil defense history of Mister Softee trucks

Mon, 26 Aug 2013

Hemmings came across an interesting article from the Throwin' Wrenches blog about the intersection of ice cream, cars and civic duty in America's late 1950s. In particular, it focuses on the Mister Softee trucks, which criss-crossed neighborhoods of the eastern US serving ice cream. Looking past the ultra-durable vehicles used - heavy-duty Ford-based chassis, for what it's worth - the article delves into some deeper national-security territory.
See, Mister Softee truck owners were voluntary members of the Civil Defense, thanks to all the useful stuff (potable water, generators, freezers and fridges) that the machines carried with them for serving ice cream. Click over to Throwin' Wrenches for the full run down of how Mister Softee would have stepped in to help fight if the Cold War ever turned a little hotter.

Ford profiles surprisingly affluent Focus ST buyers

Fri, 08 Nov 2013

It comes as no surprise when Ford says that 32-percent of Focus ST buyers are under 35, but we weren't expecting this: the average annual salary of Focus ST buyers is $127,000. Twenty-two percent of non-ST Focus buyers are under 35, while their average annual salary is $67,000.
We like the Focus ST because it has 252 horsepower, is genuinely fun to drive and offers great value for performance-minded car enthusiasts; facts that are not lost on customers, it seems. Ford says that the Focus ST has the highest percentage of conquest sales for a non-hybrid model it sells, and that the top-four trade-ins are from Honda, Chevrolet, Mazda and Toyota. Demand for the hot Focus is strongest in Los Angeles, Detroit, Houston and Orlando.
"[The Focus ST is] having this kind of halo effect for other vehicles we'd hoped for when we invested in the ST brand," says John Felice, vice president of US marketing, sales and service, because it's helping to boost sales of other Ford vehicles.
