Let me start off by saying this is not some thrown together hunk of crap Rat Rod on some s10 chassis!

This is a frame off resto mod , this was built for good gas mileage and worry free reliability with fuel injection. Up for sale is a 1948 Ford F1 truck with extensive Mods to list. Just a few custom built chassis with 1986 Monte Carlo front stub which was all gone through. new rotors, calipers, rubber lines, hard lines, idler arm, power steering pump/hoses. It drives, steers, and stops great. The rear is stock leafs, new shocks, 1978 camaro 3.08 posi rear end, which was flipped to top of the springs, to lower it, frame was then boxed and mini bridge installed.  EZwiring harness, 2 speed electric wipers, some new glass in doors. They were rebuilt with new fuzzys, glass channel, new vent window rubbers door weatherstrip.

The motor has approx 500 miles on it was a reman from NAPA. I will try to come up with the paperwork on it . 305 V8 TPI fuel injected 700 R4 AOD trans, Lokar shifter/ indicator, all new belts and hoses, cap, rotar, plugs, wires, fluids, and Spal electric fan. Heavy duty alum radiator and aluminum trans cooler. Brand new driveshaft from A1,  new 2 1/4 aluminiumized dual exhaust with turbo mufflers, Coker wide whites with chrome reverse with spiked lug nuts, center caps. New bed floor with relocated battery for more room under hood for A/C to old cooler in bed. Vintage Air. New lights. This truck was built for a customer of mine and was unable to purchase it due to unforeseen health reasons.  Truck has a great patina to it it does have some rust and dents but overall it is a solid driver.

To make the cab more comfortable the gas tank was removed and put a 16 gallon fuel injected 'tanks' tank in the rear. Seat and door pads covered in black pleated vinyl for an old school look. New carpe,t headliner, and kick panels. Also has a tilt column and custom dash extension that hides all your all new vintage heat cool defrost unit. A/C works great. all new Autometer electric gauge set. Everything works so no guessing.

Vehicle it is sold as is no warranty.  Please come take a look so you know what you are buying I have the truck for sale locally for $25,000 so I reserve the right to end this auction at anytime. thanks for looking any questions call Jason 920.248.9635

Tier 1 suppliers call GM the worst OEM to work with

Mon, 12 May 2014

Among automakers with a big US presence, General Motors is the worst to work for, according to a new survey from Tier 1 automotive suppliers, conducted by Planning Perspectives, Inc.
The Detroit-based manufacturer, which has been under fire following the ignition switch recall and its accompanying scandal, finished behind six other automakers with big US manufacturing operations. Suppliers had issues with trust and communications, as well as intellectual property protection. GM was also the least likely to allow suppliers to raise their prices in the face of unexpected increases in material cost, all of which contributed to 55 percent of suppliers saying their relationship with GM was "poor to very poor."
GM's cross-town competitors didn't fare much better. Chrysler finished in fifth place, ahead of GM and behind Dearborn-based Ford, which was passed for third place this year by Nissan. Toyota took the top marks, while Honda captured second place.

11 vehicles from Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas worth watching

Fri, 26 Sep 2014

This weekend will see the world's collector car crowds descend on Las Vegas, NV for one of the biggest shows on Barrett-Jackson's popular auction circuit. There are hundreds of vehicles up for bidding, ranging from a brand-new Lamborghini Aventador to a spattering of Art Deco classics and a huge swath of classic muscle cars.
While it's virtually impossible to assemble an inarguable list of the best cars coming during the three-day, 700-plus vehicle auction, we've sifted through the listings for this year's show - it was a tough assignment, we promise - and assembled a list of what we think will be some of the most interesting lots. We'll admit, it's a bit heavy on American iron, but if you browse BJ's listings, you'll come to a similar conclusion. Still, scroll down for our list of what we think will be the most interesting vehicles at the upcoming auction.

Ford reveals new rapid prototyping and low-volume production techniques [w/video]

Mon, 08 Jul 2013

It's called "F3T," and that stands for Ford Free-form Fabrication Technology. The process that The Blue Oval has developed means being able to sidestep the weeks-long process of tool-and-die making when engineers want to construct a new part, allowing them to fabricate a three-dimensional part from a two-dimensional sheet of metal in just hours.
While F3T is being developed it is limited to "low-volume prototyping or even low-volume niche vehicles," but the next step is to evaluate it for use in Ford's global manufacturing facilities. You can find out more about it in the video and the press release below.
