1940 Ford Truck Ratrod on 2040-cars
Ranson, West Virginia, United States
O.K I have here a 1940 ford truck that has been made a ratrod. I did the work and Ive been doing this stuff a long will but this is my first rat. I think it came out cool. It started 1940 ford truck, cab was chopped and orginal frame has been modified from engine back its 40 ford truck. all spring perches and bushings replaced. new shocks. from cab forward the frame came from a 30 desoto car( I needed a long frame for the 300 6 cylinder ford motor). has original seat which is covered with indian blanket. all new gauges which work except the tact and I think that problem is this tact wont work with a 6 cyl. chevy steeering column. all lights and signals work. 8" ford rear with 279 gears its 54" long. it has power brakes and they work fine. the mirros were made from a light fixture they work. doors shut nice. chop was done pretty nice. on rear or bed it actually is a metal bed frame I modified to fit the truck and covered with a flag. gas tank and battery is under it. still room to put another box for accessaries. fire place irons and corvette tailights are on rear for bumper. up front like I mentioned is 300 6 cyl ford from a 1979 truck with 55,000 miles on it runs very good single barrel carb. has ford sticker on block. ford truck rad engine runs in 90's degree heat 155 degrees. 40 international grill with gold bullets and bullets are on cowl also. ford headlights which are installed on two more brass fire place irons which are attacted to 04 crown victoria front suspention very nice setup which has 11" rotors and dual piston calipers. power steering is not hooked up I am looking for a pump and bracket setup that goes on this engine. then it can be made to work. it has 255/40/17 falken tires on saw blade wheels on front. saw blade wheels on rear with 275/40/17 ventus tires looks wide and cool to me. I took it on maiden voyage last friday everything went fine. I took it down a bumpy road a 30 miles an hour just to check my welds and bolts not on thing move. I wrote on the doors with a marker not paint so if new owner wants to change name would be easy. SORRY ABOUT THE BUCKET I THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO RAIN.. single barrel carb with k&n air filter If more pics are neede please contact 3044330518

Ford reveals all-new Everest SUV at Asia-Pacific forum [w/poll]
Thu, 13 Nov 2014While the Explorer may have shifted from a truck-based sport-ute to a car-based crossover, Ford still offers buyers on the other side of the Pacific a Ranger-based SUV in the form of the Everest. And at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Beijing today, the Blue Oval revealed the all-new version you see here.
Previewed in concept form over a year ago and made specifically for the Asia-Pacific market, the new Ford Everest is designed to be more refined on the road and more capable off of it. Like the Explorer once was, the new Everest is based on a stretched version of the overseas Ford Ranger pickup. Depending on the specific market, Ford will offer the new Everest with a range of engines including a 2.0-liter EcoBoost turbo four and two Duratorq turbodiesels - a 2.2-liter four and a 3.2-liter inline-five - mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
Earmarked to take on the likes of the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado (known in these parts as the Lexus GX) and the Jeep Grand Cherokee, the new Everest promises rock-crawlers even better off-road capabilities. It's got nearly nine inches of ground clearance, over 30 inches of wading depth, a 29-degree approach and 25-degree departure angles and a set of features including on-the-fly adjustable four-wheel drive.
Ford unveils its facelifted Falcon finale with new XR8
Thu, 24 Jul 2014While its days may be numbered, Ford isn't just going to let its Falcon sedan limp out for the Australian market. No, the Blue Oval is releasing a refreshed Falcon for its final years, and it's lead by this, the new XR8. That's right, this dead-car-driving is going to go out on a high note.
Ford's global design DNA dominates the looks of the new Falcon, with a grille reminiscent of the US market Fusion and the European-market Mondeo. The headlights aren't a straight port, and boast their own unique LED running light pattern (at least on the XR8), but the overall look is strikingly similar. Out back, LED taillights highlight the rear of the Faclon. Despite the substantial new fascia, this is still a mid-cycle refresh. That means most of the rest of the Falcon's body panels are carryovers from the current model.
The XR8 model, shown above, arrives with a supercharged V8, allegedly displacing 5.0 liters. Unfortunately, details on the Falcon's mechanicals are in remarkably short supply. Ford has committed to a range of turbocharged four, as well as turbocharged and naturally aspirated six-cylinders, in addition to the V8, although specifics on those mills aren't available.
Auto sales in March and first quarter down nearly across the board
Wed, Apr 3 2019Nearly every major automaker reported weak U.S. sales for March and the first quarter of 2019, citing a rough start to the year, but said a robust economy and strong labor market should encourage consumers to buy more vehicles as 2019 rolls on. GM, which no longer releases monthly sales figures, saw first-quarter sales fall 7 percent, with declines across all brands. Sales of Silverado pickup trucks fell nearly 16 percent and the high-margin Chevy Suburban large SUV dropped 25 percent. Ford also no longer releases monthly sales numbers, but is due to release its first-quarter sales figures on Thursday. According to industry data, Ford's sales fell 2 percent in the quarter and 5 percent in March. Ford representatives did not immediately respond to requests for comment. FCA reported a 7 percent fall in U.S. sales in March and a 3 percent drop for the first quarter. All of FCA's brands dropped in March, except for Ram, which saw a 15 percent increase in pickup truck sales. "The industry had a tough first quarter, but with spring finally starting to show its face and continued strong economic indicators ... we are confident that new vehicle sales demand will strengthen going forward," FCA's U.S. head of sales, Reid Bigland, said in a statement. Toyota reported a 3.5 percent fall in U.S. sales in March and 5 percent for the first quarter, hurt by declining demand for its Corolla sedans and Camry vehicles. "While some of our competitors are abandoning sedans, we remain optimistic about the future of the segment," Toyota said in a statement. Nissan posted a 5.3 percent drop in sales in March, and its first-quarter sales were down 11.6 percent. Honda and Hyundai bucked the trend. Honda's U.S. sales rose 4.3 percent in March and 2 percent in the quarter, while Hyundai's were up 1.7 percent and 2.1 percent, respectively. Passenger-car sales suffered throughout the January-March quarter compared with the same period in 2018 as Americans continued to abandon them in favor of larger, more comfortable pickup trucks and SUVs, which are far more profitable for automakers. The battle for market share in the particularly lucrative large-pickup truck market intensified in the quarter, as Fiat Chrysler Automobiles' Ram brand outsold the U.S.' No. 1 automaker General Motors' Chevrolet-brand trucks. The two automakers have both launched redesigned pickup trucks.
