Fresh off the farm is this cool 1935 Ford 1.5 Ton hot rod looking truck! This truck was redone by the son of the local ford dealership up in Wisconsin years ago as a winter project. The truck ran and drove around the parking lot last fall before putting in storage, truck needs to be tinkered on to get running again this spring. The truck looks cool, has a amature paint job on it, scratches and paint runs. Cab looks very solid all the way around even the back lower pan is nice and the back of the cab isn't all dented up. The doors open and close nicely and are solid, driver door has two bullet holes coming out from the inside. Headlites will work and gauges are nice. Windshield opens and closes nicely. Has a good gas tank in the cab, no seat. Hood looks good with nice louvers and V8 emblems. Truck has the original old V8 in there looks good and clean. Has a good radiator grille shell and nice stainless trim with v8 emblem. Truck has a nice wood bed that was built for it and nice side rails. Truck has cool exhaust stacks that go up, can be kept or taken off.  Front fenders are good, they have some dings and need some work but still the good old metal. This is a nice truck that is still a good weekend project. All of the hard work has been done it looks years ago, still will need some time to tinker to get running again and air in the tires. This is a good project to work on the weekends and enjoy. You don't find nice ones like this very often, a lot of the time they are rusty and have been sitting in the fields for many years. Check out all the pictures and see what you think. Please ask all questions before you bid. The winner will need to make a down payment of 300.00 paypal when auction ends and full payment within 7 days of the auction ending, cash on pickup or bank check. Truck needs to be picked up within 1 week of auction ending. There is no title with this truck, it was lost. I have original registeration for it. I can provide a bill of sale. Thank you and good luck!

Fewest vehicles ever found eligible for Most American survey

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

Once again, the most American car on the market is from an American brand. The Ford F-150 retained its number one spot in Cars.com's annual survey of the most American vehicles, trumping the Toyota Camry, which remains at number two.
Ford taking the top spot is small consolation, though, as the Detroit Three aren't too well represented here. General Motors scored a win at number seven, with the Chevrolet Corvette, while Chrysler squeaked in at number ten, with the Dodge Viper. Outside of those three vehicles, Toyota and Honda dominate the top ten.
What's most remarkable, though, is that there were so few cars available for this year's list.

EPA says fuel economy test for hybrids is accurate

Mon, 26 Aug 2013

The EPA says it stands behind its fuel economy test for hybrid vehicles following controversy about the testing process after Ford C-Max Hybrid customers and automotive journalists alike struggled to achieve 47 miles per gallon, the advertised mpg number, Automotive News reports. Ford responded to the issue almost two weeks ago by claiming that a 1970s-era EPA general label rule was responsible for the inaccurate mileage numbers, rerating the C-Max Hybrid's mpg numbers and offering customers rebates. Ford later said it didn't overstate the C-Max Hybrid's fuel economy and that it was surprised by the low numbers.
Ford technically didn't do anything wrong because it was following the general label rule, but agency regulator Christopher Grundler says the automaker was exploiting a loophole when it came up with the hybrid C-Max numbers, and that the testing process remains accurate. The general label rule allows vehicles that use the same engine and transmission and are in the same weight class to share fuel economy numbers, but it doesn't take into account other factors such as aerodynamic efficiency, which affects hybrids more drastically than non-hybrid vehicles. Ford originally used the Fusion Hybrid economy figures for the C-Max Hybrid and claimed the engineers didn't realize that its aerodynamic efficiency would affect fuel economy as much as it did.

Lincoln recycling tree fibers into new MKX armrest

Thu, Feb 27 2014

Want to hug a tree, or at least a really small part of one. Then set your arm down on one of those armrests in the 2014 Lincoln MKX crossover. The US automaker is working with Weyerhaeuser and Johnson Controls on a tree-based, cellulose-reinforced polypropylene material used in the component that connects the armrest to the floor console, Wards Auto says. With properties similar to plastic, the tree-based material replaces fiberglass and is about six percent lighter. No big deal for now, but if the material starts getting used for things like battery trays and interior storage covers, that loss in weight may eventually start adding up enough to boost fuel economy a bit, providing a green double bonus. Lincoln parent Ford, which isn't saying how much more (or less?) it costs to use the new material, established its Biomaterials and Plastics Research team in 2001. In 2007, the company began using soy-based foam in car seats used for models such as the Lincoln Navigator and Ford Mustang and has since broadened biomaterials use to components like floormats and cupholder inserts. Ford also used recycled plastic bottles from the 2012 North America International Auto Show for seats in the Focus Electric.
