1934 Ford Pickup Hot Rod Rat Rod Kustom 428 Cobra Jet L@@k!!! on 2040-cars
Ogden, Utah, United States
This is true head turner! This truck has hot rod, rat rod, and just plain bad a$$ written all over it. It started life as a 1934 Ford pickup, the truck had spent quite a bit of time in California. It was brought over to Utah about 30 years ago and has had the same owner for the last 25 years. This rocket is powered by a super rare 1968 factory ford 428 Cobra Jet with an underrated 345 horsepower. This one has the factory tri power set up, cool look and not to mention this thing runs! It's been down the 1/4 mile once and clocked a 12.9 at 108, and that's up here in Utah at about 4500 feet above sea level. That's around an 11 second ride at sea level!! This truck get's up and hauls the mail. It's backed by a borg warner 4 speed manual transmission that shifts well. The rear end is a 9" out of a 57 ford. This truck was just refreshed with custom hot rod flatz flat black paint, the bed is a custom set up, there is the perfect amount of chrome to set this one apart. It's a true hot rod, with a 4" dropped axle, manual steering and brakes, which all functions as it should. This truck can't go anywhere without a crown gathering! This is an absolute blast to drive and will take you back to a time when no frills speed was all the rage. This is a timeless classic and will make the new owner very happy!
I am listing this truck for the current owner, who has had it for the last 25 years. I am a licensed and bonded dealer, happy to take trades of all sorts, I also can help arrange shipping for you, provide more photos/video. I am here to help you make this purchase! I do not offer financing. X-treme Motors 2496 s 1900 w Ogden Utah 84401 DLR 7397 Contact Skyler 801-499-2124 or email through ebay and I'll get back to you asap! |

Uber hopes facilities in Detroit will help shape its autonomous future
Mon, Sep 19 2016Hot off the heels of unleashing its fleet of self-driving vehicles in Pittsburgh, PA, Uber announced plans to open a new facility in the Detroit, MI area, reports Automotive News. The new facility was announced at an event hosted by Society of Automotive Engineers in Detroit, MI. Uber's vice president of global vehicle programs Sherif Marakby revealed the news, reports Automotive News. The facility is meant to help the ride-sharing company collaborate with suppliers and automakers in the area. There's no word on where Uber will build the new facility or how big it will be, as those factors have yet to be determined. Just like Pittsburgh, PA, Detroit, MI could become another testing ground for the ride-sharing company. The latest move to open a facility in the Detroit area comes after Uber offered users in Pittsburgh the chance to ride in one of its autonomous vehicle as it looks to gain vital real-world testing. Uber is utilizing a fleet of modified Ford Fusions. Earlier this year in April, the automaker announced a partnership with Google, Lyft, Uber, and Volvo to develop autonomous cars. A new facility in Detroit would strengthen the partnership and help Uber, as well as Ford put autonomous vehicles on the road faster. Ford updates Power Stroke diesel V8, strengthens F-450, tweaks King Ranch
Thu, 26 Sep 2013Ford is giving its F-Series Super Duty trucks some upgrades for 2015, and we're happy to say that one of them is an improved Power Stroke diesel V8. Also, Ford is strengthening the top-of-the-line F-450 to handle more abuse. And if wild west-style luxury is your thing, the automaker has performed minor cosmetic updates to its King Ranch Edition trucks, as well.
The turbocharged 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 is currently rated at 400 horsepower and 800 pound-feet of torque, and Ford only tells us the new and improved Power Stroke can "produce power beyond today's" engine. What, then, did Ford actually improve upon? First, the Blue Oval swapped in a new, larger turbocharger. The new Garrett GT37 turbine unit is 72.5 millimeters in diameter, eclipsing the old GT32's 64-mm diameter piece. Ford states output increases with the new turbo setup, but since the new turbocharger operates at a lower peak pressure than the old one, the automaker was able to eliminate the wastegate system and reduce the engine's complexity. Ford even redesigned the turbo's oil and cooling lines to make the powerplant simpler. A byproduct of the larger turbo is better engine exhaust braking, which is controlled manually by a button on the dashboard.
Ford claims the upgraded diesel engine is more powerful, more robust, more efficient and more refined than before.
