I have been helping a good friend of mine put this truck together for about 3 years,we got it running last spring and he drove it around some during the summer(2012)but never finished it.He got tired of it and sold it to me last November.I have been trying to finish it up since then.I have been trying to get an interior put in it but have not found anyone around me who has time to do it ,so I am going to try and sell it unfinished.
My friend that started the build bought everything new except the cab, rear end,and wheels. The frame is new from DCR Hot Rods in Denton N.C.and has been powder coated a charcoal color, all of the suspension parts are new from Speedway. It has a new 604 Chevy crate engine with aluminum heads and roller cam,air gap intake and Edlebrock carb.(very powerful)It has a new 700R4 trans with 2200 stall converter. It has a new balanced drive shaft, all new power brakes, and unirack steering.(no play in steering) It has a new chrome tilt steering column, all new gauges, and a new wiring harness. The lights are all new and the headlights have the signals built inside them. New aluminum radiator and electric thermostat controlled fan.It has a new A model style bed with oak floor and stainless strips. A new stainless gas tank, and new billet fuel door inside bed. It has new bias ply tires from Coker (16inch) and new hub caps and trim rings. It has a 3.73 limited slip ford rear end.(works good with overdrive and tall rear tires). It has new glass, new aluminum windshield frame, and new power windows.
The cab was sand blasted and had new floor and patch panels where needed .The paint is nice with the exception of a few rock chips that I have tried to touch up. The truck has been driven less than 500 miles,it runs drives and stops good, and the ride is not bad for bias ply tires.
To be finished it will need interior, speedo cable,(needs the adapter that plugs in transmission also),emergency brake handle and front cable(it has cables running from rear wheels). The wheels that are it now have adapters, the regular patern is ford car.So if you want to change wheels and tires you have plenty of options.
I would like this picked up in person so you can see what you are getting. If you do not like it when you come to pick it up you do not have to take it.There has been a lot of money spent on this and someone will get a good deal. You may call Darrell with any questions at 276-608-4193,276-608-5543or276-628-6540 home.

2013 Ford Mustang V6
Mon, 10 Jun 2013Secretary Trim, Evolved
There was a time not so long ago when opting for a base Ford Mustang meant getting little more than some sheetmetal, an anemic four-cylinder engine and what may very well have been the world's most disappointing automatic transmission. During the Fox Body years, Ford seemed hell-bent on living up to Carroll Shelby's derogatory description of the coupe as little more than a runabout for demure office assistants, and the result was a base model with fewer sporting intentions than a Dilbert day calendar.
Some 20 years later, hopping behind the wheel of an entry-level pony is an entirely different experience. With all of the menacing aesthetics of the brawnier GT, a well-equipped interior and a drivetrain that toes the line between efficiency and power better than few before it, the 2013 Ford Mustang V6 is an attractive option for buyers in the big coupe market. But is it attractive enough to forgo the beastly GT?
What car should James Robertson buy to drive his famous 21-mile commute?
Thu, Feb 5 2015The Internet has been abuzz this week with the story of Detroit resident James Robertson, the 56-year-old factory worker who has walked some 21 miles to work for the last 10 years. The Detroit Free Press brought Robertson's story to the fore, helping an online fundraising campaign to generate more than $275,000 (as of this writing). The original goal was just $5,000, or about enough to replace the used Honda that died on Robertson back in 2005, and left him walking. So, newly flush with funds, what's the perfect car for Robertson to buy? Let's look at the specifics of his situation, and try to pick out the best options. Here's what we know: Robertson's commute is (famously) 21 miles; he lives in downtown Detroit (for now) and seems pretty humble, so something very flashy is probably out; former Honda aside, his ties to the city (and statements about being a Ford fan) seem to indicate a Detroit Three company product is best; he's a single guy with a girlfriend; he's got to deal with Michigan weather, and the sometimes fickle snow removal processes in The D. Here are some choices: Ford F-150 Robertson is on record as being a Taurus fan, and after a decade of walking I've no doubt that the big sedan would offer a cozy respite. Still, as a car guy and a student of the industry, I'd have a hard time recommending a sedan so clearly in need of replacement. Especially when The Blue Oval has such great stuff within the rest of its roster. The 2015 F-150 seems almost perfect for Robertson. Opting for either of the new EcoBoost V6 engines should help keep fuel bills in reasonable check, while healthy ride height and four-wheel drive will get him to work on time even during the snowiest of snow days. Better still, with a fat options sheet and car-like ride quality, Robertson can have just about every amenity he might want, in a package that won't disrespect his blue-collar roots. Chevrolet Colorado You guys saw this one coming, right? The smaller footprint of the midsize Chevy pickup, relative to some of the other options here, should be an advantage for urban parking and driving. And again, 4x4 is an option for the nasty weather, the running costs should stay pretty low and there aren't many tech/luxury features that can't be had in-cabin. I'd go ahead and splash out on the Crew Cab bodystyle, too, just in case Robertson feels like starting a carpool.
Next-gen Ford Cobra Jet development underway, but will it be a Mustang?
Wed, 09 Oct 2013Ford might be stepping away from the NHRA, but it isn't abandoning drag racing altogether. Hot Rod says that Ford confirmed a next-gen Cobra Jet factory drag racer is in the works, but the report also speculates that a new Cobra Jet could switch away from the Mustang nameplate.
Even though talk of a new Cobra Jet coincides with the all-new 2015 Mustang, the lack of confirmation for the dragster's platform leaves Hot Rod to guess that the car might switch to another platform - specifically a front-drive-based, unibody car like the Fusion or Taurus. We'd hate to think of a world with a NASCAR-ized dragster from Ford Racing, but it's also highly unlikely that the Mustang Cobra Jet would step away from its quarter-mile rivals like the Chevy COPO Camaro and Dodge Challenger Drag Pak.
