1933 FORD PICKUP HEAD START HOT ROD PROJECT: All steel original body - completely disassembled. Acquired with early 60's vintage 283 Corvette motor. The motor has not been looked into. Original frame is media blasted. Front and rear original suspension is gone. All new custom front and rear suspension is from Pete & Jakes and is still in the original boxes and packaging ready for assembly. Front suspension is all chrome with Super Bell Drilled Ibeam Axle and Wilwood disc brakes with polished 4 piston calipers. New 9" custom Ford rear end with Stage 3 - 56" wide (complete with 3.00 gear). All new hubs, axles and drum brakes. No wheels or tires. Too many new parts to list them all. This vehicle and all parts are currently in storage. Purchased in 2010. Cab has some rust in all the normal spots. Doors, top and cab in good shape. No major dents or rust on overall parts, i.e., fenders, running boards and bed, etc. Frame is straight and square and never wrecked but has been hacked on by previous owner.

Bonded title is in the works. There are no liens and the vehicle has been checked for theft. We have our original Pete & Jakes invoices totaling approximately $8,000. Complete chasis and front end instructions included.

This vehicle and all parts are being sold "As Is". Once again this truck is completely disassembled and "IS NOT" a roller.

Ford board pushing Mulally for decision amidst fears story is drowning out other news

Automakers and their executives rarely like to divulge information regarding future goings on, but the board of directors at Ford sound like they're getting a little antsy about chief executive officer Alan Mulally and his plans for 2014.
According to Reuters, as news of Mulally's possible departure to Microsoft continues to swirl, Ford's board is looking to push the affable executive to make a decision about his future sooner rather than later. Apparently, the board is growing concerned that this will-he/won't-he drama may end up distracting the media from covering Ford's other big news events next year - items like the debut of key all-new products like the Mustang and F-150.
So far, the picture for Mulally's eventual successor remains fuzzy, but it's understood that the leading candidate remains the company's chief operating officer, Mark Fields. Just recently, we heard that Mulally will stay until the end of 2014, but a few months ago, Ford seemed open to the idea of him stepping down earlier than that.

Ford to build Explorer in Russia to meet demand [w/video]

The current Ford Explorer is sold in more than 64 countries, and this three-row vehicle continues to grow in popularity worldwide. To keep up with demand, Ford began producing the Explorer at Ford Sollers Elabuga Assembly Plant in Tatarstan, Russia, a joint venture facility. This partnership will build Russian-market Explorers only, and production of export vehicles not destined for Russian buyers will continue to be built at Ford's assembly plant in Chicago.
Before this plant went online, Ford would ship Explorers to Russia (and other regions around the world) as partially assembled knock-down units where final assembly would eventually take place. While there is no indication as to how many Explorers Ford Sollers will build for Russia, Ford did add that exports of the SUV were up 65 percent last year (from 2011) accounting for more than 24,000 units.

Ward's reveals annual 10 Best Engines list for 2013

Ward's Auto has released its annual 10 Best Engines award winners. The 2013 list covers the full width and breadth of the internal combustion spectrum, from a spate of efficient four-cylinders to the most powerful production V8 on the planet. As always, the entries must be available in a production vehicle in the first quarter of 2013 with an MSRP of less than $55,000. The supercharged 3.0-liter V6 from the Audi S5 held on for the fourth consecutive year, and BMW earned two spots on the list with its turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder and turbo 3.0-liter inline-six.
Ford pulled in two awards for its 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder and and the supercharged 5.8-liter V8 from the Shelby GT500. Honda matched BMW and Ford with two wins of its own. Wards awarded the 2.4-liter four-cylinder from the Honda Accord Sport as well as the 3.5-liter V6 from the Honda Accord. Chrysler, General Motors and Subaru each garnered a spot on the list as well for the 3.6-liter V6 in the Ram 1500, the turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder in the Cadillac ATS and the 2.0-liter four-cylinder the Subaru BRZ, respectively.
