Perfect, 75k, 347, T56, Zero Rust, New Everything,built Right, Black W/black Int on 2040-cars
Lafayette, Indiana, United States
This mustang has been built right. 100% show quality, looks better than new. No expense spared. Exterior, all trim, engine, trans, rearend, EVERYTHING. It was a west coast car with zero rust when I got it. 75k miles. The car was in great condition aside from the paint sun baked. I had this car stripped down…the RIGHT way. Doors, hatch, fenders, hood, bumpers, trim, glass all taken out. Car was sanded, primed and painted better than factory. Extra charcoal in the black mix, extra clear coat, wet sanded and buffed. No swirls, mirror finish, darker and shinier than a brand new black car. No tape lines. Even the door jambs and inside the hatch etc were all prepped and sprayed while it was apart. Just the paint alone cost $4,500.00. I easily have 25k wrapped up in this car…and it shows. You have to see it in person to appreciate it. Beautiful, rare, black on black 25th anniversary mustang. Not a scratch, dent, swirl, or chip on it. Everything is like a new car or better. I have added a couple pics from before so you can see it was not a basket case. It looked good already, never seen snow or salt. There is not even surface rust anywhere underneath the car on any panels or frame rails(uni body). I wanted it show perfect, not just cruise by perfect. I am just extremely particular and I have to have my vehicles perfect cosmetically and mechanically. IT IS LASER STRAIGHT. No waves in any panels. (the pics from before resto, it has 4 lug draglites and stock headlights).
While the car was apart, I added a Cervinis 4" Cowl hood(painted under as well), new windshield AND both brand new NOS quarter glasses($500 each, couldn't stand weathered surrounds), ALL new trim around windows and doors(rubber and plastic), ALL new weatherstripping, new doorhandles, new pins and bushings everywhere(doors shut like a cadillac), and new smoked headlights and taillights. Engine: 347 Eagle Stroker kit forged steel crank w/ main girdle H beam rods Forged Pistons (10.4:1 pump gas) Moroso 8 quart pan (fresh oil and filter last week, Royal Purple) Melling Hi Volume oil pump ARP studs in mains and heads Ported SVO Y303 aluminum heads/cometic MLS head gaskets Trick Flow Stage 3 cam 1.7 Harland Sharp stud mount rockers Parker Funnel Web intake ESP custom built 750 down leg carb/correct cable/billet throttle bracket Billet distributor MSD 6AL ignition and coil Taylor Thundervolt wires Sheetmetal valve covers/breathers Transmission: Tremec T56 6 speed AJE crossmember for t56/fox body swap Quicktime SFI bellhousing Centerforce aluminum flywheel Zoom ZVT Variable Torque clutch(great driveability), new cable, quadrant Pro 5.0 shifter/hurst handle new bushings Rearend: 8.8 girdle Yukon axles 5.13 gears(sounds crazy, but perfect gear with the trans gearing…had 4.10s and changed them) new carbon fiber SVT clutches all new bearings and seals Lakewood Traction Action lower arm with relocation brackets airbag on RH spring Exhaust system: Long tube 1 5/8" primary, 3" collector Ceramic headers custom bent full 3" x pipe into dynomax bullets with 45 degree turndowns(sounds amazing), had it made for perfect fit with trans swap Fuel system: Competition Engineering sump #8 hose from tank to regulator blue holley pump High volume filter/regulator #6 line to carb Other parts to mention: Welded subframe connectors 5 lug conversion, new brakes Line Lock Innovative wide band Silver Sport Comp tach w/shift light Battery relocated to trunk with legal switch Energy suspension mounts throughout, including engine mounts Competition Engineering torque strap Aluminum radiator Dual 12" fans on t stat switch New 28x11.5 Mickey Thompson ET streets, and new Mickey Thompson front runners In some pics the car has centerline split spoke wheels, others it has my weld RT/S wheels, and some it has pro stars. Car will come with the like new pro stars, unless otherwise talked about with me. I also own a 78 Fairmont I am finishing, and thats the only reason I am considering selling this. Please do not insult me. Everything I have is paid for and I don't HAVE to sell this. I just don't have the time and space. I have a ton of money and work wrapped up in this car. Its a very fast, reliable, well built, and show quality street/strip car that fires right up and cruises at highway speed comfortably in 5th or 6th gear. No expense spared. No details have been overlooked. I am more than happy to take pics anywhere on this car, inside and out, in any area you would like. It has no issues. If you are concerned with any problem areas, let me know and I can take photos to assure you. I am sure I am forgetting things. Just write me and I will be happy to answer any questions you may have. |

Curtain officially comes down on Mercury as dealers remove signage
Mon, 03 Jan 2011The process of shutting down the Mercury is complete. Ford officially made the decision to close its mid-level brand in June of 2010. In the months that followed, Ford offered its dealers money to stop selling the cars, with production shutting down in September. The last Mercury, a Mariner, rolled off the assembly line in the beginning of October and former spokesperson Jill Wagner said her good-byes to both the car and her job. Now the last piece of the brand has come down as dealers are removing any and all Mercury signage from their lots.

Autoblog Minute: Ford Ranger, UK Mustang, Hyundai Hybrid
Fri, Aug 28 2015Ford may bring the Ranger back to the US, the UK goes nuts over the Mustang, and the battle of hybrids heats up with spy shots of the Toyota Prius and a new Hyundai. Autoblog's senior editor Greg Migliore reports on the weekly recap edition of Autoblog Minute. Show full video transcript text [00:00:00] Ford may bring the Ranger back to the US, the UK goes nuts over Mustang, and the battle of hybrids heats up with spy shots of Prius and a new Hyundai. I'm Autoblog senior editor Greg Migliore and this is your Autoblog Minute weekly recap. 2011 was the last time we saw Ford's midsize pickup in the US but according to a report from the Detroit News we could see production of the Ranger at the [00:00:30] Dearborn automaker's Michigan Assembly Plant as early as 2018. Ranger could compete with the Chevy Colorado and perhaps revive the compact and midsize pickup market for Ford, but the future of Ranger in the US depends a lot on Ford's ongoing negotiations with the UAW. About 2,000 orders for the 2015 Mustang were placed in the UK, tying up production of the pony car until July 2016. According to details in a press release from Ford UK, [00:01:00] it looks like Brits are a lot like their American cousins, opting for the 5.0 liter V8, with Race Red as the popular color of choice. Photos of the 2016 Toyota Prius leaked generating a lot of buzz over the styling. This fourth generation Prius will have some new competition as spy shots of a new Hyundai also surfaced this week. The car is said to be a hybrid and a bonafide "Prius fighter." Those are the highlights from the week that was. Be sure to check out my full recap this Saturday, [00:01:30] including the latest in FCA rumors for 2016. For Autoblog, I'm Greg Migliore. Google's new Android Autos OS unveiled, will be in cars this year [w/video]
Wed, 25 Jun 2014Connected cars are coming en-masse. We know this much. How, though, remains something of an open question, especially as two of the world's largest tech companies are preparing to battle for control of your car's dashboard. On the one hand, we have Apple and its CarPlay system. And now, we know what Google has been working on with Auto Link.
Its new name is Android Auto, and yes, it's based off the Android architecture that is the primary challenger to Apple's iOS mobile operating system. Announced at Google's I/O conference today, Android Auto functions similarly to CarPlay - owners will need to plug their smartphones into their cars to access the full breadth of capability.
In Android Auto's case, that means a wealth of voice controls to limit distracted driving. Google's marquee apps will be available when the interface arrives in production models later this year, including Google Play Music, Google Maps and voice-activated texting and text playback. Meanwhile, developers will be able to begin designing custom apps for the new system via an upcoming software development kit.
