Up for sale is a rare 2008 Roush Mustang with 435HP 400FT tourqe. Vapor silver in color rare color combo. This car is adult driven well maintained and never smoked it. The interior is like new I use leather conditioner quite often to keep the seats looking nice, the outside is no exception since owning the car over 2 years ago it has never seen snow on a rare time or two it was diven in the rain. The tires have 85% tread left, the clutch is newer as well it was installed by Ford, paper work to prove that. Oil changes every 3000 miles. The car drives like a dream and looks very tuff on top of that. I also replaced the battery approx 1 month ago, the lower fog lights have been replaced as well. Not sure if the photos show it or not but the windows do have a dark tint, previous owner had that done. If you are really looking for true muscle car and want lots of attention look right here check this baby out you won't be disappointed. One last thing, I do have a 3:73 rear end gear that may go with the car or I may have it installed before its sold. If I don't have it installed by the time the car is sold it will go with the car if it meets the reserve. Ford 'working very hard' on F-150 hybrid
Thu, Dec 4 2014The lighter, aluminum-bodied 2015 Ford F-150 gets (at best) 26 miles per gallon. That's not bad for a truck that size – and we should always remember that improving gas guzzlers can make a big difference – but what if the popular truck came with a gas-electric hybrid powertrain? How efficient would that be? We heard Ford talking about such a vehicle last year, and now we learn that Ford is still "working very hard" to make a F-150 hybrid happen. You want details? Well, we all want details, but those will not be coming for quite some time. Last year, Ford's global product development chief, Raj Nair, said that the company was planning to have hybrid pickups and hybrid SUVs on sale by 2020. With fuel prices dropping, Nair is now saying that a hybrid F-150 makes more sense, financially, than a diesel, but Ford could make both options available, depending on customer demand. The diesel wouldn't require all that much work, Nair said, since "we've got diesels in the portfolio." To date, the only hybrid F-150s we've seen have been conversions, often PHEVs, like this example from HVET or this one from Quantum. Pickup trucks from other manufacturers haven't been greeted with huge sales numbers. General Motors stopped making its big two-mode hybrids and cancelled the next-gen program.
Ford builds Lightweight Concept with Fusion shell [w/video]
Wed, 04 Jun 2014It's a fairly well known fact that removing weight from a car is essentially a panacea for many of the modern automobiles problems. Does it handle like crap? Remove weight. Underpowered? Don't add power; trim the fat. Need to improve fuel economy? It's diet time.
Actually executing a major weight reduction program, though, much like with human beings, is no easy task. Unlike you or I, where motivation is the issue, the prohibitive measure in trimming a car's waistline is money. Lightweight materials are expensive, with carbon fiber and carbon-fiber reinforced plastic still primarily in the domain of higher end vehicles. Even aluminum construction, pioneered on a mass-produced level by Audi and Jaguar, is only now starting to make its way into the mainstream, thanks to the upcoming Ford F-150.
With this concept, though, Ford is attempting to show that a mass-produced, lightweight vehicle isn't too far off. This is the Lightweight Concept, and while it may look like a Fusion, it weighs as much as a Fiesta. For reference, the lightest Fusion available to the public is the 3,323-pound, 2.5-liter model with a manual transmission. A manually equipped, 1.6-liter Fiesta, meanwhile, is just 2,537 pounds.
