Model Information
In 2007, Saleen and American Racing Legend, Parnelli Jones, created a limited-edition version of the Mustang in its Irvine, California factory commemorating Parnelli's 1970 SCCA Ford Mustang Boss 302 racer. Though often called the Parnelli Jones BOSS S302, it was designed to pay homage to the legendary 1970 Boss 302 that Parnelli Jones had raced and won back in the Trans Am series against Javelins, Camaros and Cudas. This limited-production Mustang comes with a stroked out version of the stock Mustang GT 281 c.i. engine, making it a 302 cid 3-valve aluminum V8, with 400 hp (300 kW) and 390 lb·ft (529 N·m) of torque. On the outside, the S302 features a new front fascia, MACH I "Shaker" hood, rear window louvers, rear deck wing, hockey shaped side stripes, and custom edition wheels. Other special performance enhancements to this car include a special Watts-Link suspension unique to the 1970 Boss Mustang used by Parnelli Jones. Each unit was personally signed by Parnelli Jones and Steve Saleen on the center dash. The Limited Production Run was only 500 cars.
This very special Mustang is one of the best examples of this limited edition car in existence. Only 500 examples were made and this car is #160. The Mustang is painted in the historic Grabber Orange with black racing stripes similar to the 1970 Boss Mustang successfully raced by Parnelli Jones. The car was purchased new at the Ford dealership in Pikeville, KY as its only allotment. From there it was trailered to the storage garage where car has been driven weekly for one mile or so. All 581 miles have been for this careful maintenance. It has never ever been raced though it is itching to. The car remains as original as possible. All original paperwork is included, complete with window sticker and photos of it being built in the factory in California from a stock Mustang GT. The floor mats, owner’s manual and many other items with the car are also included. A few extra ordered racing number decals are still in packaging. This car is as new as you would want it to be after 6 years it. The front bumper remains undrilled for the license plate holder. The car’s paint and interior are in new condition with no blemishes. I am sure the car has a clean carfax and autocheck. This is a true collector vehicle where FEW remain with such low mileage. It is one of the finest.
Vehicle is also listed for sale locally. Seller reserves the right to withdraw item at any time

Wrap up some fun with Ford's commercial vehicle configurator
Tue, 27 Aug 2013Ford has combined multiple steps into one with its commercial vehicle configurator, which allows users to choose, design and place orders for the Transit, Transit Connect, E-Series vans and F-Series Super Duty trucks.
The most interesting part of the new configurator is a fairly robust design tool. Users are able to choose paint color and wrap the vehicle, and then create their own graphics. No materials are needed - Ford provides numerous background textures, text boxes, plenty of shapes and 20 categories of images including floral, construction, plumbing and skylines. Self-created designs or images can be uploaded to the system as well.
We played around with the design tool a bit and uploaded our own image to create the Autoblog Podcast Live van you see here. Feel free to check out the configurator and make your own design.
Ford forced to recall Escape over fire risk yet again
Tue, 26 Nov 2013Recalls happen. Automakers hope they won't, but they do. And that's alright, for the most part, because cars are designed (and to a large degree still made) by humans, and humans make mistakes. So we forgive them, as long as the problem is resolved. Only in the case of the Ford Escape, the problem seems to keep coming back.
That's why Ford is calling in the Escape yet again due to fire concerns. The issue revolves around problematic fuel lines in 9,469 units manufactured between October 5, 2011, and July 11, 2012, all of which use the 1.6-liter EcoBoost inline four-cylinder engine.
As you yourself may recall, the Escape was subject to a string of recalls last year that resulted in a $17 million fine. One of them was over this very same issue, which Ford apparently didn't rectify the first time around. Let's hope this time is the last time.
Ford F-Series Super Duty earns Truck of Texas award
Wed, Oct 12 2016Texans love their pickup trucks, which you already knew. That means the Texas Auto Writers Association and its "Truck of Texas" award is a big deal. And the latest trophy goes to the 2017 Ford F-Series Super Duty. The pickup truck managed to snag TAWA's award at the 2016 Texas Truck Rodeo. The award marks the 13th time Ford's F-Series has been named the pickup king of the Lone Star State. Roughly 70 journalists converged outside at the Longhorn River Ranch, just outside of Austin, TX, for the 23rd annual Texas Truck Rodeo where a host of Ford's vehicles won awards. In addition to the F-Series Super Duty being named the "Truck of Texas," the 2017 Ford Super Duty won the Heavy Duty Pickup Truck award, while the 2017 Ford F-150 with the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine won the Best Powertrain award. The journalists also awarded Ford for having the "Truck Line of Texas." Ford wasn't the only winner at the Texas Truck Rodeo, as Nissan brought home five awards, including one for the 2017 Titan in the fullsize pickup category and one for the Armada in the SUV segment. Ram also won a few accolades with its trucks. The 2017 Ram 1500 won for being the most luxurious pickup truck, while the 2017 Ram 2500 Power Wagon won the off-road pickup truck award. Last year, TAWA named the 2016 Nissan Titan XD the Truck of Texas, but Ford's all-new F-Series Super Duty managed to keep the Japanese automaker's full-size offering at bay. For the 2017 model, Ford placed aluminum body panels into the F-Series Super Duty's body, which not only shed weight, but also make the truck stronger. Scroll down to see the entire list of TAWA's winners from the 2016 Texas Truck Rodeo.
