Offered, for your consideration, is my 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback. This vehicle has had a complete and total professional restoration performed just 3 years ago. No expense was spared in performing the restoration and every nut, bolt, panel and part was either upgraded or replaced. This is as close as you can get to a new 1968 Mustang and vehicles of this quality and road appeal do not come along for sale very often. There are just too many new parts to list, so I will just mention a few and let the pictures speak for themselves. Drivetrain & Suspension: Complete engine rebuild, bored 30 over w/mild cam and 4 barrel Edelbrock carburetor. New brakes, shocks, springs, rotors, calipers, front pads, rear shoes. New power steering pump, power brake booster & master cylinder. Rebuilt c-4 trany, 3rd member and rear bearings. New universals, dual exhaust system. fuel tank and sending unit, electronic ignition system & coil. Wheels are 14" Cragar Pro Street SS with new 225-70-14 radial tires all around, with full size spare and Cragar wheel. New Vintage AC, Heat and Defrost system with extended warranty. Car runs cool even on the hottest of days with AC running. Interior: All new seats, door panels, dash cover, floor console, headliner and carpet. New AM/FM Cassette radio with 4 speakers. All lights and gauges work as they should. Cabin is quiet when cruising and all glass is tinted. New rubber door gaskets and seals and all chrome parts have been either replaced or re-chromed. Body & Paint: Professional body and paint work with 1968 Mustang Candy Apple Red color. All body lines are straight and correct. Hood, trunk and doors all fit correctly . White Le Mans striping, GT Fog Lights and non-functional Hood Scoop and Hood Pins added to give it that GT look. Under carriage is clean and painted black. This is a Southern car and has not been driven in snow or ice salt covered roads Only 5800 miles have been driven on this car since restoration completed. This car was made for cruising, but sadly could be used as a trailer queen for shows.

Toyota again claims Corolla outsold Focus worldwide

Toyota isn't convinced the Ford Focus was the best-selling nameplate globally last year. Bloomberg reports that for the second time in seven months, both Toyota and Ford are laying claim to the title. Ford cites R.L. Polk & Co. data that says the automaker moved some 1.02 million Focus models in 2012 compared to just 872,774 Toyota Corolla units. But Toyota says the actual figure is closer to 1.16 million Corolla models.
Last year, Ford said it took the sales crown through the fist half of 2012 based on information from IHS Automotive, but Toyota pointed out those numbers left out models like the Corolla-based Matrix and Auris, as well as the Corolla Fielder and Scion xB-based Corolla Rumion. Whether or not Toyota's belief that all these cars should be counted in the Corolla bucket is accurate or not is seemingly up for debate... as is the question of why it matters so much to both parties.
This time around, Ford is holding the line that the Focus is the "best-selling nameplate," with Erich Merkle, a US sales analyst with Ford saying the company's figure is, "a pure number that is verified by a third party." Toyota, meanwhile, has requested clarification from Polk.

Here's why: The E-Tron Quattro concept, which will debut next month at the Frankfurt Motor Show, is a large sport utility vehicle that promises a range of 311 miles. It's an all-electric daily driver that fits the needs of most Americans. In production – which Audi says starts in 2018 – this vehicle will seat five and likely be called the Q6. You can take your family from Boston to Philadelphia without recharging. That's mainstream. We're moving away from the industry's "science experiment" era (as General Motors product chief Mark Reuss once described the appearance of the first gen-Chevy Volt) to a period where electric vehicles are plausible and practical for many US buyers. The 2018 Q6's only holdup for the masses will be price. But if you can afford an Audi SUV, you'll be able to buy an all-electric version. The E-Tron concept uses Volkswagen Group's second-generation modular longitudinal platform. The lithium-ion battery is located between the axles and below the cabin. Urquhart says the production model will feature the automaker's latest battery technology developed with LG Chem and Samsung. IHS Automotive projects the Q6 will sell more than 40,000 units annually by the end of the decade. "The E-Tron Quattro is a precursor for what will be an exciting and landmark production model for Audi and will position the brand at the forefront of the premium EV market," IHS analyst Tim Urquhart wrote in a commentary. They offer more space for the battery packs, and development costs can be recovered easier. That's a leap from its $230.77 price at Friday's market close.

2015 F-150 kick-starts Ford sales

The F-150 had a middling year in 2014, and its sales dipped slightly as Ford transitioned to producing the all-new truck with an aluminum body. But with one factory humming, another on the way and a fuller stock of trucks, 2015 is already shaping up to be a different story. The F-Series posted a 17-percent leap in January, helping to push Ford sales to a 15-percent gain for the month. The F-Series had its best January performance in 11 years with sales of 54,370 trucks last month. Much of this strength comes from the new generation of the F-150. While many of the old model are still being sold off, Ford is rolling out the new version. Just five percent of the F-150's retail sales were the new truck in December, but it was up to 18 percent in January. The increase comes as the first factory that makes the truck, Ford's Dearborn facility, is fully back online. The other F-150 factory, in Kansas City, is still completing its changeover to build the aluminum-bodied truck, and that's expected to be finished in the first quarter of this year. Sales of the truck will still be "tempered a bit" until the Kansas City plant ramps up, Ford sales analyst Erich Merkle said. Ford expects to have a full inventory of F-150s by mid-year. To that end, the company announced plans on Wednesday to add 1,550 jobs to support the F-150, including 900 positions at the Kansas City factory. The remaining jobs will be spread out over sites in metro Detroit. The Dearborn and Kansas City factories collectively will be able to build more than 700,000 F-150s annually. The added headcount also means Ford has reached the maximum number of entry-level workers allowed under its pact with the United Auto Workers. About 300 to 500 employees at several plants in the Midwest will transition to a higher pay rate, and their wages will rise from $19.28 an hour to $28.50 an hour. The F-Series was Ford's hottest seller in January, moving off lots in an average of 12 days. The high-end models, the King Ranch and the Platinum versions, are moving slightly quicker. The average transaction price is also up $2,100 for the F-150 compared to January 2014. "We're really pleased with how the new one is doing on dealer lots," Merkle said. A larger stock of F-150s will allow Ford and its rivals to capitalize on low fuel prices, which have slowed consumers' interest in smaller vehicles.
