You are looking at a very specific, limited edition, normally aspirated Saleen modified 302 high output Mustang. This is the Parnelli Jones limited edition. #438 of 500. This vehicle is the modern day replica of the 1970 SCCA Ford Mustang driven by Indy 500 winner Parnelli Jones. This car is not for teenagers or inexperienced drivers. It has been specifically modified to produce over 400 HP from the factory and the details are listed on the enclosed photo of the window sticker. This is a one owner car. I bought this car new and it has been meticulously cared for. It is driven periodically and remains covered in my humidity controlled garage. Details of the vehicle are well documented and available on the internet. The motor is modified to 302 cu.inch, forged aluminum pistons, heads and flywheel. Forged steel connecting rods. Saleen high performance cam. Saleen PowerFlash performance Calibration. Saleen Power Pulleys. 2.5 inch dual exhaust. Saleen 8.8 inch rear differential with 3.73:1 gear. Functional Saleen Aluminum shaker hood and scoop with high performance air box. 5 speed close ratio Tremec transmission. Saleen Racecraft suspension system with Watt's Link competition rear axle stabilization, N2 shocks and struts, Mcpherson strut with lower control arm, Saleen specific rate front and rear springs, Saleen 14 inch slotted and vented front disk brakes with 4 piston calipers. Saleen 19" aluminum wheels with Pirelli extreme performance tires ( 19" x 9" front and 19" x 10" rear) All aero package including 1970 replica wing. Rear window louvers, two tone leather seats. Saleen gauge clusters and signed dashboard by Parnelli Jones and Steve Saleen. This is a well balanced, very rare vehicle. It drives and handles better than any Mustang I have ever driven and has gobs of power. It revs high, revs fast and will smoke a shelby GT 500. MSRP $60,800. Asking $58,500. Please direct any and all questions via "contact seller". Car is available to be seen at prospective buyers request.

SEMA crowns Mustang, FR-S as this year's hottest cars in the building
Wed, 31 Oct 2012After wrapping up the first day of the 2012 SEMA Show, organizers handed out awards for some of the trendiest vehicles on display. Since the whole point of SEMA is to show off new products available in the aftermarket world for use in cars, trucks and SUVs, each year, the show distinguishes the most popular vehicle in various segments. Not surprisingly, this year's Hottest Car and Hottest Sport Compact are the Ford Mustang and Scion FR-S, respectively, while the Ford F-Series brought home the Hottest Truck and the Jeep Wrangler was named the Hottest 4x4-SUV.
More than 2,000 companies are at this year's show, and the display booths represents a "vote" for each car to determing the trendiest vehicles in each of the four categories. It isn't clear if these awards also take cars brought by OEMs into account, but the Mustang and FR-S were definitely well represented by both OEM and aftermarket show versions.
As usual, the OEMs showed up in force at the this year's SEMA Show exhibiting a variety of cars ranging from production-intent cars like the beastly Ford Mustang Cobra Jet to much flashier rides like Scion's Carbon Stealth FR-S.

Autoblog Podcast #317:
Would a Mustang-based Lincoln look like this?
Mon, 07 Jan 2013Designer Josiah LaCalla has taken a stab at what a Ford Mustang-based Lincoln model might look like with the Continental Mark X1 concept. Make no mistake, Ford's luxury arm has made it abundantly clear that it won't be pursuing any new products outside of volume models, which means a flashy halo grand tourer like the one you see here isn't in the cards. LaColla used the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG as a basis for his creation, which explains the long nose, but we certainly don't mind the idea of a rear-wheel drive Lincoln with a cabin pushed to the aft.
While we're dreaming, there's certainly nothing stopping us from imagining what's under that lengthy hood. We like the idea of the 5.8-liter supercharged V8 from the Shelby GT500 pushing the Mark X1 down the road, but how about something a little more inventive? Something like a high-revving, buttery V12 with enough torque to push the contraption well past 200 miles per hour. Dream a little dream, people.
