Up for sale is my 2007 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, Torch Red with Satin Silver Stripes and Charcoal Interior. This color combination is 1 of 131 made, 100% Factory Stock with only 1700 miles on the car, that's right 1700 miles!! 5.4L 330 c.i. Supercharged V8 and 6 Speed manual. 3:31 Heavy Duty Rear Axle. The condition on this car is near showroom new. Only a few marks on the car that are pictured below. I received the car with just 1526 miles and have put about 200 trouble free miles on it.

The Shelby was part of a Personal Collection and was involved in a Garage Flood where it sat beside a 2005 Ford GT, and a Jeep SRT-8. 17 inches of  water from the ground up was the amount of water. That is just below the seat bottom. Did not touch the door speakers or come anywhere near the center console. The smart Junction box which is the vehicles main control module was damaged due to its location in the kick panel on the passenger floor. I replaced the Box with a brand new unit from Ford, as well as a full body harness, new dash harness (the plug was wet that exits the dash and plugs into the floor, so to prevent any future issues it was replaced), new power seat track and motor on the driver side, new alternator and starter. The interior was completely detailed and has left no damage or odors.

When i purchased the car, the mileage reading was not available on the cluster due to the Smart Junction box getting wet. When the car was fixed and the odometer worked and showed the CORRECT 1,526 miles, i sent pictures, as well as the carfax report showing the last reported mileage at 1,474 and that it now read 1,526 and mailed the title back to the insurance company and had it corrected. So the title and mileage discrepancy has since been taken care of and should show up soon on the CARFAX and AUTOCHECK Report.

The Shelby was then taken to the Ford Dealership (Family Ford on Straits Turnpike in Watertown, CT) for a Tire Pressure Monitor Programming as well as an Airbag Certification that is required for CT Inspection. The engine oil, transmission fluid, and rear differential fluid was also changed for good measure with No water contamination found in any of the oils. The GT500 passed CT Emissions, rigorous CT inspection and is 100% fit to be driven and enjoyed anywhere.

The air conditioning blows ice cold, the heat is oven hot, tracks perfectly going down the road and has plenty of power to get you to your destination quickly. I would not hesitate to add this to your collection, or drive everyday. NO shortcuts were taken and i have photo and paper documentation of the repairs and services. The car is an absolute 9.5 out of 10. Stunning car with only 1 of 131 in the Red with Silver Combination. Not a nicer example around, 0 paint work, a true get in and go.

I would be happy to assist in picking up a buyer from a local airport. I also encourage inspections. The closest airports are Bradley International in Hartford, CT, as well as Westchester County Airport in White Plains, NY.

Feel free to call or Message me at 203-695-4873 . Thanks for looking and goodluck.

Hot Wheels' 2022 Green Speed cars bring EVs to small scale

Sun, Apr 24 2022

With more and more EVs hitting the market, it was only a matter of time before the new breed of cars would find representation in diecast form. For 2022, Hot Wheels is coming out with a new Green Speed series that puts the spotlight on a diverse lineup of electric cars. The five-car series features a fun mix of EVs from different manufacturers and in a wide range of styles. Some are completely bone stock. For a traditional luxury sedan, there's a Lucid Air in silver, complete with glass (or in this case, clear plastic) canopy. For fans of Teutonic 4-door "coupes" there's the Audi RS e-Tron GT in Daytona Gray. Ticking the truck box is a Hummer EV in a yellow that can only be described as a throwback to the H3. But because this is Hot Wheels, there are "hot-rodded" variants in the lineup as well. Rather than just a regular Nissan Leaf, they've elected to cast the carbon fiber-bodied NISMO RC 2.0 race car. Likewise with Ford, instead of the standard Mustang Mach-E, they've gone with the Mustang Mach-E 1400 drift car. This isn't the first time Hot Wheels has put out a Green Speed series. The line debuted in 2016 but reflected the limited EV choices in the real car market at the time. The only non-fantasy cars in the series were a first-gen Tesla Roadster, a Tesla Model S, and Chevy Volt. Hot Wheels revisited the line again in 2019, this time adding a Tesla Model 3 and a Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Sport Turismo. Hot Wheels also makes other mini EVs that don't fall into this specific line of models. If you want to collect 'em all, there's the second-generation Tesla Roadster concept, Cybertruck, Jaguar I-Pace, Pininfarina Battista, Porsche Taycan, and a Volkswagen ID R. Similarly, Matchbox has released a version of the Tesla Roadster with sustainable packaging to boot. If you must have an old school gasoline burner, Hot Wheels has plenty of options for you too, like, say, this snazzy FJ60 Toyota Land Cruiser. The 2022 Hot Wheels Green Speed series should be on shelves at your local retailers now. Related Video:

Is it time for American carmakers to give up on dual-clutch transmissions? [w/poll]

Mon, 22 Jul 2013

Last week, in the midst of Detroit's first days seeking relief in Chapter 9 of the bankruptcy code, Automotive News contributor Larry P. Vellequette penned an editorial suggesting that American car companies raise the white flag on dual clutch transmissions and give up on trying to persuade Americans to buy cars fitted with them. Why? Because, Vellequette says, like CVT transmissions, they "just don't sound right or feel right to American drivers." (Note: In the article, it's not clear if Vellequette is arguing against wet-clutch and dry-clutch DCTs or just dry-clutch DCTs, which is what Ford and Chrysler use.) The article goes on to state that Ford and Chrysler have experimented with DCTs and that both consumers and the automotive press haven't exactly given them glowing reviews, despite their quicker shifts and increased fuel efficiency potential compared to torque-converter automatic transmissions.
Autoblog staffers who weighed in on the relevance of DCTs in American cars generally disagreed with the blanket nature of Vellequette's statement that they don't sound or feel right, but admit that their lack of refinement compared to traditional automatics can be an issue for consumers. That's particularly true in workaday cars like the Ford Focus and Dodge Dart, both of which have come in for criticism in reviews and owner surveys. From where we sit, the higher-performance orientation of such transmissions doesn't always meld as well with the marching orders of everyday commuters (particularly if drivers haven't been educated as to the transmission's benefits and tradeoffs), and in models not fitted with paddle shifters, it's particularly hard for drivers to use a DCT to its best advantage.
Finally, we also note that DCT tuning is very much an evolving science. For instance, Autoblog editors who objected to dual-clutch tuning in the Dart have more recently found the technology agreeable in the Fiat 500L. Practice makes perfect - or at least more acceptable.
